Kaiser Baas X100

Warm weather only – The x400 was great all summer and fall. I was very impressed with the quality of picture. However, I really wanted this camera for my backcountry ski adventures but have come to learn that the camera can't handle the cold. The battery will go from full bars to one bar almost immediately when I step into colder weather and then will turn off… Read more
after a couple minutes max of recording. As soon as I step back into the warmth the battery shows full bars and works fine. This has not been the case with other products I have used or friends of mine have used. So don't purchase if you want a cam for skiing/snowboarding. One bummed skier.
Good footage, lots of technical difficulties – When you finally get the dashcam setup, get the right memory card that will suit your laptop and record some footage there was still the problem of missing clips on the memory card and the app not working at all for viewing recorded clips and photos. it should say on the box that you also need a brand new laptop to run the dashcam footage and edit… Read more
to save hassles and for god’s sake please get the app updated, would make life so much simpler for the editing process.
Rants aside, the end product of the dashcam cam footage, once you can finally access it, is of excellent quality..if you remember to wipe your windscreen lol cheers!
Security risk – The dash cam broadcasts a wifi connection which you can connect to access the recordings. The problem is the wifi is only secured by a very simple password that cannot be changed. Anyone savvy enough to google can figure out the default pass and access the recordings. And if you have your voice also recorded which is the default settings, good… Read more
luck with that.
The manufacturer doesn’t seem to take privacy seriously. Who knows which version of WiFi is it using? It might as well be the oldest and crackable WEP standard.
Never worked, bad service, 3 weeks and no refund – I bought the X3 on special offer. Right out of the box it didn’t work. Support was difficult to find, the number is almost invisible on the website. Went through a support ticket. Got email reply. They offered to fix it! Seriously, if they’d sent a new one I’d have been happy... but we will fix a brand new product and return it? Ridiculous. much to’ing and fro’ing of emails, agreed to refund (but not the postage). Broken product returned 3 weeks ago and still no refund. Just terrible service all round. Avoid KB products.
Blurred pictures and crap quaility – You have to hold the camera perfectly still for any kind of quality shot, I ask my son to kick his legs slowly and took a picture it was just a blurred mess not very good for an action cam! I will be taking it back asap, don't bother you will get better snaps of a camera phone. Show details
OK but not that good – It works, but if you want to use the phone app, forget it. It just says "connection to camera failed, please ensure WiFi connection is working" the moment you open the app (at least in a Galaxy S5).The firmware on the camera is the latest one. Why WiFi and not Bluetooth? Meh.Chinese fake brands, designs. You get what you pay for. Show details
Amazing and unbeatable for the price – -----Please copy and paste the link below for the full review----- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_9FzFDCK3k The Kaiser Baas X100 action camera is amazing for the price. It boasts very crisp 1080p video for a very low price point with the size and versatility of an action cam. The system on the camera is very easy to… Read more
navigate. You can easily change any settings for your needs and the remote wrist watch makes it even easier to capture video at a moments notice. If you have go pro style mounts this camera will fit with them.
The Kaiser Baas has a 2" LCD screen which lets you frame your shot or you can use it to replay your captured video. With the Kaiser Baas you can download the app from both the app store and play store which gives you a live view of what the camera is seeing. It works really well although there is a slight bit of lag between the phone an the camera. once you are connected to the app, you can download your footage wirelessly. However to view the video on your phone you have to download it first however you can view photos without downloading them. Using the camera's WiFi however does take a significant amount of the battery power.
The microphone works okay however when you use the camera with the waterproof case voices are very muffled however this is to be expected with any action cam the is made waterproof like this. The waterproof case comes with the camera (and works really well!) however any other mounts have to be bought separately.

Nothing Epic, but Excellent Value for Money – I and my wife are motorbike riders and we are both members of the Ulysses motorcycle club (it's NOT a bikie gang - don't be scared). I wanted a camera to record our personal and club rides, but I had also found GoPro prices ridiculously high and, as I'm no professional cameraman, I didn't need awesome and jaw dropping bells and whistles. I ran… Read more
into Kaiser Baas X100 one day, when I was surfing the web for this, and, with a price tag of only AUD 90.00, it looked like a reasonable bet, especially for a camera that was advertised as compatible with GoPro mounts.
Since I received the camera, memory cards and mounts, a couple of months ago, I've been experimenting with it. I must say I'm pretty happy with the results, given my modest requirements regarding features and capabilities. I can safely state that it matches a GoPro white edition with flying colours.
Positive points are:
- GoPro mounts compatibility is total - you can use ANY mounts.
- Operation is simple and straightforward.
- Image quality is good and won't disappoint you.
- Price tag is reasonably low.
It has a couple of negatives, though. I can live with them easily, but you should be aware of them if you're considering this camera:
- Size is not the same as GoPro's. So, you won't be able to use a GoPro housing, such as the skeleton housing, to avoid that awkward "foggy image" problem all action cameras have.
- Only ONE housing is available, and it's the waterproof one. If you mount the camera on your helmet and ride a fast vehicle through a cold zone, moisture will condense very quickly and your images will be useless due to the "fog" effect. Solution for this would be the use of "anti-fog" inserts (from GoPro) and/ or drilling holes on the standard housing so that the air could circulate (but you won't be able to do sub-aquatic images any more). I've been using the "anti-fog" patches and, so far, they have worked well; but I'm still considering the holes.
- Mobile phone app is not as feature rich as GoPro's, but allows for basic camera operation.
Finally, I must add that it comes with a wrist mountable remote control. I haven't used this one, but I've heard people saying that it's useful, but its batteries don't last long enough. I'll leave this for you to comment.
kaiser bass x100 – My 11 year old saved enough money for an entry-level go pro or an alternative brand with money left over for attachments. It took a bit of convincing as the go pro name is so prominent, but he purchased a Kaiser Bass X100 with some Kaiser Bass and some GoPro attachments. It took him a few goes to work out how to use the x100, but it was simple. … Read more
He uses it mostly on the water for sailing. For a cheap action camera it has great film quality. It is amazing on and under the water. It is great that it fits all the gopro attachments as some of the Kaiser bass attachments aren't as handy as the gopro ones. It came with a remote wrist watch, but this is not water proof and he has not found it that useful. Great value for money, perfect for entry-level and fun use. Now the kid just needs to learn to edit movies! Thanks for reading my review I hope it informed you.
