particular time each week, which they don't. They call to tell me to sell shares they've never recommended I buy. They refuse to put any of their recommendations into writing - I've said repeatedly that if I don't answer the phone when they call (because I'm often in meetings) then email through the recommendations and I can look at them when I have time. They don't. There is no research team, there is no analysis, it's all AI and there is no insight into market movements nor the right advice about buy/sell and stop prices. Then they tried to get me to hand over $50K for a guaranteed 14% return. I've always said if something is too good to be true, it usually is. Do yourself a favour and put your money elsewhere - even in your back pocket and you'll be better off than you are with these guys.

sell recommendations). Megan has been very helpful in growing my portfolio, and has earned my trust enough that I am now choosing to invest more of my money in the ASX. Although I have a very small portfolio at the moment, thanks to timely recommendations provided by Megan, I've grown my investments by more than 25% in six months. I realise these gains are largely thanks to riding the bull on resource stocks with gold prices being crazy, but Megan tells me she can average around 16% returns for her clients and I believe her. Mind you, with the best interest rates my bank is offering being less than 5% now, I'm happy even getting 5-8%!

The only weird thing is, Kapitales still sends me the daily breakout stocks reports, but these suggestions seem to be rejected by Megan when I enquire.

Still... today I've happily paid a rather pricey subscription to extend my membership to the personal advisor services, because I've now been convinced that these fees will quickly be recouped through my investments (so long as we don't get another 2009 GFC, lol!).

(ORIGINAL REVIEW POSTED JULY 2024): (4 stars) After being contacted by Kapitales, I was skeptical, but they are a very patient team who seem very keen to get their name out and help people succeed in the stock market. I subscribe to their most basic plan, which provides me with access to some easy-to-read reports with speculations about small-cap companies that might be good short-term trades. Due to very little spare cash, I've only dipped my toe in slightly so far with minimal investments, but turning my $500 into $600 in two trades has been a very good start. These trades were recommended to me by Alan and Eva respectively. I do recommend taking some time to understand any brokerage or trading platform that you want to use in order to take advantage of these reports, since it was only through setting a trailing take-profit order that I came out ahead (9% return - very nice!) on my second trade before it crashed back to where it began. Note that the reports they send me do provide clear advice on when I should consider selling for profit, as well as where to set trailing stop-losses etc, which is great.

So why only 4 stars for this review? Because I feel it's more honest to ensure readers aren't swept up in a wave of hysteria and unrealistic expectation: As a time-poor young man, I can't offer a deep or broad analysis of their services, but I did set up a spreadsheet tracking a selection of about 15 companies from the aforementioned reports, and found that most of them were in fact losing trades. But to be fair, the headlines tell me that the ASX has been a bit rough recently, so perhaps the drops are more a function of the wider market than being blameable on poor choices of stocks? I suppose the nature of all services like Kapitales is that they can never guarantee you a profit (and particularly can't guarantee that EVERY trade will win), but I feel like I can believe them when they say that in the long run they are likely to be able to bring me out ahead. They offered me a great introductory deal on their services as a new customer, and as a result I feel it's money well spent, even if for nothing more than feeding my curiosity about day trading. If, by the end of the year, I have continued to grow my portfolio at a rate faster than my savings account, I will definitely come back to add that fifth star.

handy when the market moves quickly. Kapitales have a reasonable success rate with recommendations and I like the fact that they do not push me into making any trades. The final analysis and decision is always mine. I started in May so June was obviously a difficult month but my portfolio is recovering well now so I am quite happy. An update as of Jan 2023, my personal consultants have switched to Mark and Russell who are doing a good job of picking stocks that I can trade.
