shaving kit. I was not greeted; instead, a male staff member (of Asian descent) yelled out, "We are closed." In a hurry to go home, When I pointed out that the store had 10 minutes until closing, and just need to return a small item he became incredibly difficult and unhelpful. Incorrect Claim 1 (60-Day Policy): He initially refused the return, claiming it was past 60 days. I provided the receipt showing it was exactly 60 days. More importantly, as this was a faulty product, Kmart’s store return policy does not override my statutory rights under the ACL.
Incorrect Claim 2 (Card Change): He then claimed he could not process a refund because my bank card had changed/replaced. Working in the banking sector myself, I informed him that the funds would route correctly to the account regardless.
The Voucher Deception: He then insisted on issuing a voucher. Assuming this was a standard gift voucher I could use freely, I accepted it so I could purchase a replacement. Only after leaving did I realize he had issued an Exchange Voucher. This voucher can only be used in-store for the exact same product—which your store did not have in stock, nor did two other local Kmart stores. Furthermore, when I attempted to use it online where the item was available, the system I could not use the voucher as it is valid for in-store use only.
Breach of Consumer Law & Store Standards: To make matters worse, the presentation of the Bankstown store was shambolic, with stock strewn all over the floor and staff who clearly did not want to assist. This is not a matter of the money; it is a matter of principle. Your staff member showed a complete lack of training regarding major faults and consumer guarantees under Australian law. A store cannot restrict a customer to an "in-store exchange only" for a product that is inherently faulty and unavailable especially when a receipt was present as well.
Now waiting for my bank, fair trading and the ACCC to look in to it before taking this to NCAT

20th. I contacted directly the courier (Kmart job) and we discovered it was delivered to another address and they gave me proof of that. I told that to Kmart team, and still today (03-06), I don’t have an answer from them.

I tried chatting with their "live agents" to expedite the report about the safety issue. This person immediately disconnected the chat after telling me to take this bulky faulty item into a store. I'm disgusted with the lack of support regarding a dangerous item.
I've lodged a complaint and am waiting for a refund.
Update: Kmart customer service offered a 30% refund for "minor faults. Apparently a device spewing smoke and catching fire when turned on is "minor". I'm disgusted and will be Lodging a complaint against the matter with Consumer Affairs.
Calling the Kmart 1800 number I was eventually transferred to their " complaints line" ... This person interrogated me as though I was a fraud. Regardless of the videos and images provided which document the faulty item. These people seem to think we are all criminals. But who is the real criminal here? I was sold a used faulty item that spews smoke. I was told to keep using the burning faulty item.
I now have to travel for 45 minutes with the bulky item to my nearest store. No doubt that they will refuse a refund.
And their "compliance" staff member was SO rude. Accusatory and disrespectful - when I am the person inconvenienced by buying a faulty item. Truly disgraceful treatment

Scilily S fold sheers 240w 250L. We used 6 curtains and 4 and 1/3 rods to achieve a fuller wave look. lightweight cool white fabric and filters light well for some subtle privacy and a whimsical look. They were a little tricky to sew to required length as the fabric is fairly fine- I would probably use iron hemming tape in future as it would likey be easier. Straight out of packaging the curtains varried by a few centimetres in lengths - which may still require adjustments.
Rails can be wall or ceiling mounted- we choose ceiling. I adjusted the seperation of the waves on the track to sit uniformly on the two windows. If you were using these on doors they would likey need constantly fixing to keep the uniform look. Unless you don't mind different variation waves and want more practicality and privacy than 'perfect' esthetic. You can carry over the same curtain around the corner even though there is no corner rail piece- just butt the rail up to one another and continue hooking the curtain on next rail.
All up cost was $294 to cover 5.8mt span - easily saving a few thousand from professionally tailored. Overall we're really happy with our purchase, and would consider buying again for future window coverings.

I purchased the spot cleaner from Kmart a few months ago, in case of accidents and decided to clean the hall rug. I used Rug Doctor as the no foam cleaner and the both did a great job as can be seen by the one clean strip and the 3/4 still needing a clean. K-Mart store and told them if our situation and was told " No problem just bring them back" I said we are looking at a 2 hour round trip will I be reimbursed for my fuel( Now $2 56 a litre) and was told " No we don't do that" I asked to speak to the manager and was told "No manager today [Name Removed] is off". The next day I put petrol in the car and reluctantly drove back to the Lakelands store as I had no other choice, I need to security tag to be removed so as I could wear the pants and it's not my fault their system failed. Upon arrival I again asked for the manager and was told " No manager is here today". The message disappeared and I was returned to the add payment details step, however the payment was processed from my bank account. I contacted K-Mart who requested evidence of the payment, then said there was nothing they can do. From their end, the order hadn't been finalised so couldn't be refunded and I will just need to wait; at some point my money should be returned to my account. They gave a timeframe of 3 - 5 days. In the mean time I was welcomed to try placing the order again or shopping directly at the store. How does major retailer have such at terrible online ordering system and such indifferent customer service.
Follow-up · Update - my funds were returned and I was able to access them after about 48hrs. I didn't try placing another click and collect order with K-Mart but rather ordered a similar item from another retailer.

Follow-up · Once ordered and paid there does not seem to be an avenue to address issues like delayed order or to cancel order. The store said my option was to buy the same product instore then return my order when it arrived for refund. The overall store layout is not user friendly. The shoe rack is 5 to 6 feet high with multiple sizes mixed up, you need to be a very tall person to find what you want. Never purchase anything online from Kmart/Target. Target items in particular are very different to the descriptions online. Too difficult to return Target items as no response when trying to contact online and on the phone. Target use a third party for selling items.
