Handheld massager for sports injuries – I purchased this handheld massager from Kmart for $79 in Canberra to help with a rotator cuff shoulder injury. This massaging unit is cordless but needs to be charged before use. It comes with six different massaging heads which are easily attached. Of these however I only found the acupuncture massager (the spiky one) to be really useful. The other oddly shaped massage heads weren't very comfortable to use - and were quite baffling. (Because they were useless and quite frankly - alarming - I repurposed them into cat toys).

Nonetheless, you can alternatively use the massager without any of the massage heads attached. In this way, you can select the heating function to heat an injured muscle while applying pressure and massaging. You need to know that if you are using the heating function, you mustn't attach the massager heads as they can melt - although not instantaneously. (I accidentally did this once - without mishap). However, detach the massager heads before selecting the heat function.

There are three different mode functions: default - which gives a steady continuous vibration - button will be green colour. (I prefer this mode for shoulder massage or around delicate tissue).

Light blue colour will deliver on/off bursts of vibration - don't recommend - it's unsettling.

The instructions recommend that you don't use this unit for more than 15 minutes at a time without a 30 minute cool down session between use. You should also read all the safety recommendations around use and avoid using the massager anywhere near your heart.

This massager is great for improving blood circulation to muscle tissue and it delivers pain relief. The heating function is also very useful for sore muscles. This product is great for shoulder and back massage. You can also use it on legs and thighs for running injuries. Not great around bony areas - as it's a bit clunky. But for shoulder and leg and big muscle groups - it's pretty effective.

And, while the product offers a range of benefits, users might find that it requires some familiarisation (and experimentation) to fully optimise its features. Figuring out the best techniques and suitable heads for specific areas will take some initial experimentation.

All up though, the Anko CF-4908 Cordless Double-Head Massager is a versatile and efficient device that targets muscle fatigue and improves blood circulation. Its ergonomic design, combined with a set of interchangeable heads (only acupuncture one is useful though), offers users a personalised and comfortable massaging experience. Whether used for relaxation, post-workout recovery, or targeted stimulation, this massager delivers on its promise of relieving pain from minor sports injuries by relaxing the muscle tissue while improving blood circulation - all of which speeds recovery.

Main drawback with this product is it's a bit cumbersome and heavy to use. But otherwise for $79 it's good buy and it helped me fix a pesky shoulder overuse injury.
