Pretty poor instructions and quality… – Assembly instructions is very bare.. I will do it as a challenge .. but it’s also tempting to just take it back .. it very easy to damage it when putting together .. I totally agree with Karen .. I had to clear the dining table to get a decent flat surface (wide and high enough) to assemble it on .. you’re better off with an ikea shelf .. more solid and better instructions …well worth the extra $

Kmart's crappy oak look bookshelf instructions – I am the Flatpack Queen. However, when step ones doesn't even supply the 35mm screws I knew there would be issues. No fear, I just got 8G 65mm screws to hang wall cabinets so providing my own 35mm screws is no problem. Unfortunately, when the dowel hole is at a 90 degree angle and the bookshelf isn't, it's not going to line up for the other screws in step 2. Which also stated to put part E in corresponding position as per diagram below. Except that wasn't till step 3. I'm now having a wine and a cigarette and I'm doing it my way when I get back to it. After I install a splashback in my kitchen. Because god knows, it's got to be a lot easier than this cheap and nasty piece of crap that got passed onto me because..... I'm the flat pack queen and if I can't figure it out, then Kmart's the problem. And I'm telling you now, Kmart is the problem. Go ahead and buy it but be sure to call into Dan Murphy's as well.

Absolute Rubbish - Do not buy this item – The KMart Oak Look Bookshelf is cheap and nasty. It would not assemble at all and the instructions were useless. It ended up in the bin.

We were unable to return this item as we damaged it in the process of trying to assemble it. The assembly instructions were almost non-existent except for some diagrams which did not make any sense. The product was bought online so we could not return it to any store. We will not be buying any furniture from K-mart ever again because of this debacle.
The ambience of a flatpack – My first flat pack since 2003 ...praise be to those who have made these easier.. (although the instructions would drive anyone back to kmart to drop it off and ask for a refund) I managed to finish this flatpack in good time and it looks brilliant in the home . Thank you Kmart! 5 stars for the finished look it has added to my lounge room
