Dirty deals done dirty – Arrived broken, lost way more time getting mucked around by so called customer service. Claims to be an Australian company. I doubt it, definitely inferior Chinese or Korean products. Way to get a great reputation Kogan, shame on you! Still no refund after 9 months !!!!! I doubt there ever will be.  Show details

Fantastic product – Reasonable price and extremely worth every cent. Besides the remote not being the best, the TV itself is great. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tv. Has had its ups and downs but overall value for money – I purchased this TV 3 years ago as a second TV (family room). Although it is not used as much as the primary TV (Lounge) it has been put through its paces and has had a dummy spit on occasions. Using the smart TV features ...... Waste of time, actually I haven't the patience for the "Smart TV" features on any of my TV's, this isn't what i bought… Read more

the TV for in the first place, either way, PC or Android TV boxes suit me better. Yes on occasions i have switched on the TV and i think it may have forgotten how to switch on, decides to stay cheerfully bright on the "Kogan" screen (subtle reminder) for a while ..... forever. It may come good, it may catch-up after shutting down and starting again ............. there is no rule of thumb. Except one! ......... I have flashed the firmware (same version) on this TV approx 3 times since new (once a year) and each time it comes right back to new and works like a dream. People need to understand a couple of factors ................. all equipment like these will develop little cliches, store cluttered data etc, over a period of time ............ and just like your car they need servicing. They are a lot more sophisticated than your toaster, electric fry pan and Granddads old VCR (bet you remember the "head clean" routine!!) anyways ................. just saying. For the record, this TV has used very little in 2 1/2 years, but for the past 6 months i have used it as a monitor for CCTV viewing ...... its constantly on day and night, 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, very rarely turned off. Has not missed a beat. I didn't buy a fully blown, doubled pumping, overhead whatever, whiz bang, make you a coffee, Einstein IQ smart TV .............. and i didn't get one either. I bought a practical TV for a reasonable price that has been looked after and its still going strong ....... Actually to date - bought 3 years ago - $629 = $203 per/year. I ask you, would you be satisfied spending less than $200 per year on a TV????? .............. I am!

Terrible television – Utterly disappointed with this TV. Doesn't work as a Smart TV. Very bad customer service when I tried to explain this to Kogan, trying to get a refund - they said it wasn't their fault their extremely difficult to use and bug-filled OS didn't work with any applications. :| TV is extremely slow to boot up and crashes occassionally. After one year… Read more

of owning it goes green around the corners and right now, the screen is pink all the time. Have given up on this TV. I do not recommend Kogan products and will never shop with them again.

reboots, freezes, lags, unresponsive and already been sent back once – I have been using this TV as a second monitor for my PC and WHEN it works it great, but sadly that becoming less often. A week after I got it, I sent it back because of a no power issue which was fixed for free quickly. Most of the current issues happened sometime after upgrading the firmware, so it could be that its buggy, but without it you cant… Read more

use a lot of the useful features as there discontinued, outdated.

Re-flashing firmware can reset the issues... but you loss all setting, passwords and apps.

Other issues are:

You need a usb mouse to access some functions (remote is a no-go), keyboard can also be helpful

Unable to edit home screen

Conclusion:

Don't think ill buy any smart TVs again (I don't even use 3d), unless from a manufacturer with longer firmware support. Had a myter with a samsung panel and that lasted over a decade without issues, very sad about this.

Same faults as KALED423DSMTZA – I bought the KALED423DSMTZA in January 2014. The Kogan Smart TVs are advertised as:- "Experience the future with the 42” Agora Smart LED TV (Full HD) — browse the net, check Facebook, send emails, watch YouTube videos and get the latest apps and games, all on your TV! •Access the internet on your TV! •Stream TV shows, watch YouTube videos… Read more

and more!"

However I found the smart functions slow and extremely limited and unable to watch streaming videos. Also on normal free to air TV, the slow refresh rate meant that tennis balls had comet trails, which I find distracting. The TV broke down in May 2014 and was replaced with model KALED423DSMTZB that exhibited the same faults.

If anything, the ability to watch any streaming media has only gotten worse over time and there is no update to the installed software.

After much toing and froing via email, Kogan told me that they are not responsible for third party software and the fault was not theirs to fix. (If I could afford it I would love to challenge that assertion in court.)

I not only regret buying this from Kogan but also regret taking out an extended warranty which would now seem to be worthless, and even purchasing a mini wireless keyboard that was recommended by Kogan and really didn't make the operation any easier.

Terrible TV, worse service! – These Kogan "smart" TVs do not function as a smart TV at all. None of the apps work that you would use on a smart TV (i.e. ABC iView, or the ones for SBS, channel 7 or channel 10), despite installing all the latest drivers. When bringing the issue up with Kogan, they first claim that it's a problem with the apps' compatibility with the current… Read more

version of Android, though the story changed when I pointed out that my other devices running the same version of Android worked seamlessly with the aforementioned apps. They then simply stated that the apps just weren't compatible with the TV itself, despite Google Play indicating that they are (one does wonder why you would sell a "Smart" TV that is not compatible with the apps that most users would use, and not make this clear to buyers at the outset).

I gave up after many weeks of correspondence with unhelpful Kogan staff, who refused to refund my purchase according the relevant consumer law (a problem with the TV that would have prevented a reasonable consumer from purchasing the product had they known of the issue prior to purchase).
