Price is right; Product ok; Tech support lacking – Just bought this projector from Kogan. It works ok, thank goodness, because either Kogan or Australia Post had thrown the box around before it got to me and the box was smashed in at the corners. Thankfully the projector was well protected inside. In terms of its good points, the projector visibility is good and the colours look good too. It's quite a good looking unit that comes with all the required cables and a remote control that works well (no batteries supplied). Apart from these aspects, this is a projector that feels cheap - you get what you pay for. The keystone adjustment knob is very average indeed and moves clunkily. The projector fan is insanely noisy, to the point that it drowns out the projector's own audio output. This probably won't be a problem for most people since you'd generally use it with proper speakers anyway, but I would definitely advise against buying this projector for a small space or a room with an echo problem. The instruction manual that comes with the projector is terribly inadequate and has no troubleshooting advice. This is something you may want to consider before purchasing, as I also found Kogan's web-based tech support extremely difficult to navigate and find help - and they have no call centre. Initially the volume on the projector wasn't working when I used it with my dvd player (HDMI connection). The manual contains no help and I tried to troubleshoot using Kogan's website, but found nothing helpful there either. In the end I found advice via another manufacturer (Epson) that I should change the DVD player output to PCM. This resolved the problem and the projector started producing sound, but it took an hour of googling and no help from Kogan. All in all, this is a cheap projector with a pretty unbeatable price. It may well suit your purposes, but you should consider whether you may need fuller information or tech support in order to set it up or troubleshoot, because this is a significant weakness of this model.
