Kyocera ECOSYS M5526cdw

Faulty, slow, expensive toner – In 2021 I bought 2 Ecosys printers, the multifunction one and a printer only. I assumed they would use the same cartridges, but no, I have to buy 2 different model toners, what a crap. The printers are quite difficult to set up, the display is tiny and not illuminated (think about having it in a dark cupoboard), the web interface is pretty much for IT pros only. The printing itself is quite slow too. Print quality is good though. On both machines I already needed a technician out, because big multicolour smears were appearing on the pages. According to the tech a problem that rarely occurs (3 times for me now in 2 years) and only with 3rd party toners (did never use those though). Now the printers are out of warranty (just) and they want to charge me to pay for service. Obviously that would be more expensive than a new printer (definitely not Kyocera again) so I'm haggling with the support team to do it for free, ideally replace the printers. Wish me luck!
Purchased in at Ecotech for $279.
Great WHEN it works – Constant connection issues with WIFI, when it is connected it is a great machine but it is offline too ofent. Help line are polite but cant always fix the problem. I would steer away from Kyocera

Kyocera M5526cdw printer is dysfunctional – I read all the reviews prior to purchase and made my decision based on the speed of printing, high dpi and security that most printer multi function centres don't offer. Was that a mistake. The information on the seller's website said it was "easy to install" and as I'd installed multi function centres before, I was confident. I had three different IT professionals give up! I contacted Kyocera, and they sent out a tech who did install it. I can print but I can't scan. So, I am out $570 and I also ordered four toners that cost me ~$100 more than the printer. Dealing with Printzone was good and delivery was fast but I will NEVER buy a Kyocera anything ever again. This one is headed for the scrap heap.
Purchased in at Printzone for $599.
Low cost and reliable – My wife makes cards and other scrapbook items and the cheap inkjests and lasers were expensive on consumables until I was told about the kyocera M5526CDW. Toner is cheap so cost per page is low and a full set doesnt mean it is cheaper to buy a new printer like the others. It feeds the 250gsm no problem and quality is consitant. Scanning is great with the duplex single pass scan. Duplex printing as well as printing via thier app works well too.
