Positive experience – From the moment I first met Andrew who was admitting me as a day patient until the time I was discharged by Andrew I had the utmost respect and admiration for all the nurses involved in making my stay a pleasant one. Without a doubt this hospital is the most professional of all hospitals around the Newcastle area. Most impressed.
Great staff – Wonderful staff Hill ward. Thank you Buffy, Jo, Alistair, Nettie, Jane. Yes Jo, I'm going to Fiji. Love ❤️ to you all.
A very satisfactory stay – An excellent experience. Couldn't fault the staff and their caring attitude and service. The food was very good for hospital food. I felt at all times as if I was in safe hands. Complications post-operation meant a longer than expected stay, but given lots of explanation. Considering I don't particularly like hospitals, this was a superior stay.
Horrible experience – Nurses and staff were wonderful, emergency department very poor had to go to another hospital after waiting in vain for many days for a cardiac doctor, was fixed straight away at Newcastle private, have not found an easy way to contact officials.
Communication – I would like to thank everyone for the amazing care my husband received. What I did not like was the poor communication. We were given four different admission times within 24 hours. I left my husband at 10am with him going straight to theatre. I rang at 2pm to see how he was and they told me he was just going to theatre. the staff in ICU amazing and Dr Organ professional and personable. So glad to have come here.
Heating – The Air Conditioning for heating in my room was terrible. I froze when it was off roasted after a while on heat . Consequentily I have come home with a cold.
Exceptional service Lake Macquarie Private ED – We presented to ED today as my husband was experiencing excruciating back pain and was having difficulty walking. After deliberating over what options we had we decided to try LMPH ED which we had heard a lot about but never had to use the service ourselves. The health system is something we are very familiar with and realise at this current time… Read more
that the system everywhere is feeling the pressure. We are pleased to say the service we received was exemplary, both medical and nursing staff. A special mention to the doctor who looked after my husband so well, I believe his name was Stephen Eliesen. He was extremely thorough and caring. You don’t often get the praise that is deserved - once again Thankyou!
Staff review – I recently attended the hospital for a knee replacement and was placed in the Williamson ward for recovery. From the pre admission to the recovery and release, the service I received was brilliant. All the staff including nurses, wards men and cleaning were friendly and carried out their duties with respect, kindness and professionalism. This made my experience all the more pleasurable.
Excellent in every way – Both my partner and I have had quite major surgery at this hospital. And have both attended the ED on several occasions. We both received excellent care in every way. Could not fault the care we received. Each and every staff member were fantastic. Would not go anywhere else.
Excellent Care and Service – After being turned away from the Mater Hospital and being told that I could go home as there was nothing wrong with me we proceeded to LMPED. Admission was instant followed by a 6 day stay with a serious condition. The Drs and nurses in the Ed were excellent and diagnosed the problem immediately. The room I was transferred too was lovely and very… Read more
clean. During my stay the care and service were excellent. The catering and cleaning staff were excellent. A1 Service at all times. Thank You all
Excellent Nursing staff – I have rated this hospital with three stars purely based on the efficiency and friendliness of nursing staff (who individually deserve 5 stars) though support service personnel were also very helpful and friendly. I was transported and received at the hospital as an emergency patient after having sustained a worrying leg infection. The receiving… Read more
doctor was thorough and commenced immediate treatment prior to admission. Although fully aware that I was just one of many patients assigned to the ward physician, I became quite distressed and concerned by the absence of what I consider reasonable doctor/patient communication and monitoring of this unresponsive condition. Having little faith in unresponsive treatment provided by the ward doctor, I advised staff that I would discharge myself and consult my GP. Only then did the ward physician change antibiotic treatment that eventually arrested spread of this terrible infection.
A quick note on the facility itself. The older part of the hospital where I was admitted looks very tired and in real need of modernising/painting. The bathroom in my room was relatively clean, though urgently in need of a major make-over - very old and worn fittings and flooring.
