It Just Works – Reseached a number of multi-function printers before purchase and compared reviews (on a number of websites) with other well known brands with similar specifications, and found this one had been rated very highly for its price and functions. As a result purchased this product and at the moment (only had it a few days) very happy. Installation… Read more

was very easy. You can set the printer up via the CD or follow the written instructions. I used the written instructions and found them straightforward. The only issue I found was in removing the plastic covering around the cartridges (you get 4) that protects the ink head, these were a bit tight and required a little force. Otherwise it was set up in only around 10 minutes. Installation of the software drivers took slightly longer but only because I allowed the CD to access the internet to find the most recent updates, which it did and installed them without any fuss or need for restarting.

I needed to print and scan some documents immediately after install and there were no issue. I simply pressed the scan button on the printer panel, inputed what I wanted i.e. scanned to PDF, automatic setting etc and pressed ok. A few seconds later the image was on my computer in good quality. Printing was very quick on automatic mode as well. A full A4 page with some grey scale sections only took a matter of seconds. A 8 page text intense document in draft mode also printed very quickly and in good quality for draft mode.

I haven't used the copy or printed photos yet so cannot comment on these functions.

Aesthetically it's not the most attractive printer, looking like a large black brick, but having spent some time in the store where I bought it, they all look like big black bricks even the more expensive high-end brands. However, it fits nicely on top of a small set of draws and is unobtrusive. It does not have a touch screen like some of the more expensive brands, but this keeps it simple and for the home user that doesn't need their printer to cook them dinner, that's probably all you need if doing basic printing, scanning and copying.

Overall, very happy with this multi-function printer and with its features, which includes wireless printing. I would highly recommend this for the home user. Very good for price ($98.00), fast printing and scanning with very good quality for home use, wireless, easy set up. No autofeed paper tray, but holds 100 sheets in the document feeder
