LG GC - It's destined to come home – The search was on for a small freezer to fit into a cavity space and dimensions underneath my pantry shelves… When I discovered this little beauty; it was destined for home in an instant! Although I would have preferred a frost free freezer, there wasn’t an option across all the brands in such a required small size. Yet my LG Upright Freezer 110L - expresscool, had all the other boxes ticked!

Size and capacity

Left hand, Right hand door opening option built in

Clear compartment plastic bins

No clumsy wire racks

Shelves protect freezer elements underneath

Easy to clean - DEFROST button (remove contents)

Quick restart - QUICK FRZ button (replace contents)

Adjustable temperature control with LED screen – Automatically set at, -18 degrees

Holds 4 loaves of bread without scrunching

Stacks two 1 Litre take-away containers high comfortably

Appliance runs quietly

Further note: I defrost every 4-6 months pending on my usage; it takes less than 30 minutes and it’s also a good time to check your expiry dates. Unlike the buried Xmas ham of 2001 in a tucker box freezer!?

Snow also has a tendency to build up on the top freezer element due to constant door opening which allows room temperature air to circulate within. Here, I tend to ‘gently’ chip this away before my due cleaning date. But since then I have reorganised my produce to limit this happening and use my LG freezer for the not so regular items.

As there are but two of us in this household that host the occasional party… At the purchase price of $400.00 in 2008. I wouldn’t change it for a frost free even if someone renovated my kitchen pantry for the sake of a few centimetres; that in itself it’s a cheap option.

To date; Life’s Good with my LG upright freezer. Size

Good – I really love this little freezer. We are a family of 5 and needed extra space for things like ice cream and bread and icee makers etc. This certainly does the job and I love that it has separate drawers so I don't have to do somersaults into a deep freeze to try and find things that are on the bottom, buried for eternity. It freezes the food really well, things like my ice cream maker bowl always work better than in the freezer on top of the fridge and I absolutely love the fact that I can set it to -18C and know that it's at that temperature.

Because of the red LCD screen temperature, it's easy to tell if for whatever reason the freezer goes off too which is a bonus.

The only thing I am taking a point off for is the fact that it's not frost free. It's a pain to have to defrost it to clean it, but again, I knew that before I purchased it. It doesn't take up too much space.

3 of the drawers are nice and roomy.

It gives me the option to set the freezer at an exact temperature rather than trying to guess what a correct temperature is just buy turning a knob with markers. It's not frost free, but I did know that before I purchased it.
