Works well – Have only used for reading, so I can't attest to the writing capabilities. I was pleasantly surprised that it only requires a single cable to operate, unlike older models which required 2 cables (1 for power and 1 for data).

Purchased in at Amazon for $37.

good product – purchased this for my Macbook air and it works well. Very reasonably priced and easy to use. I would recommend for those who arent tech savvy but need a basic dvd player to use through their laptop

Purchased for $60.

DVD Burner worked fine for 12 1/2 months then died – DVD Burner worked fine for 12 1/2 months and then the read/write head dies on the unit. Now fails on all disc's no matter what you put in it. Not the first one to report this issue with this unit.

Excellent In Every Way (4 Weeks Ongoing) – This External Dvd drive is wonderful. I have had the drive for 4 weeks now. I bought it from the Taree branch and the assistant told me I could bring it back if it doesn’t suit my needs. I was so pleased to hear that normally with techno stuff returns are damaged stock only. I was worried I would have to keep forking out $50 and more until I found the write machine. This Dvd drive played my “All region dvd’s” “Region1”“R2”“R4” and mixed regions Ex. “R2,4”. I was also really pleased to find that it not only played the multiple region discs it allowed me to access the discs content through programs of my choice such as VLC, Handbrake and MakeMKV, basically no program limitations I.E. “windows media player only”. I also was not limited to one drive at a time, so if you wanted to work with content from two different discs using two drives simultaneously you can, But I suggest using the main drive first and the external one second during operation. Definitely suggest this DVD drive to all my family for a quick and easy multi region drive, due to most inbuilt drives are region locked instead of risking software that causes drive and computer breakdowns this $50 drive is a region free lifesaver.
