Worst light strip ever – Terrible product. Keeps refusing to connect from the app. Waste of money
Great product with terrible Wifi connection – Loved the colours but the need to continually reboot this for it to reconnect to my wifi makes it unusable as a "SMART" device ...... this company may be good at the light part of the product but the app and integration with Apple is pathetic. The effect in my living room is very impressive.
Tip: if buying the 2 metre version, attach the two strips BEFORE applying to the surface.
No customer service – Bought two of these strips. One was faulty in that the colour was all over the place. The problem is that there is no after sales service. send a replacement unit. Never fulfilled. That was SIX MONTHS AGO. Where are we now? I have to fill in another form. I have never in my long life witnessed such poor after sales service.
Worst Smart WIFI product full stop – While in concept I thought the product looked fantastic. In reality I have had nothing but problems with it. doing a full reset I now use it as a turn off at the wall LED white light strip. Reading the support page it says that my router or WIFI is the problem. Zero problem with anything else other than the LIFX Z product. Web support says how to reset it by power cycling the light strip and router however it has to happen every day. Attempts to update the app failed regardless of following the support procedures.

Super bright, clever, and useful in many ways – The Lifx LED lighting strip is a clever lighting product with immense brightness and beautiful colours to add ambience and dramatic effect to any room. lamps, I affixed the LED strips along the inside frame, filling it entirely with light, rather than just the glow of a traditional bulb in just the middle. With the frosted shade, you can't see the strip, but it now looks so much better with full illumination. And the thousands of colours, with saved scenes I've created throughout my house, I enjoy different moods and atmospheres every night.
In my aquarium, I removed three flourescent tubes and the electrical cord, and stuck a strip of LEDs around the perimeter of the housing, behind the tank's original clear plastic cover that protects it from potential water splashes. Now my fish enjoy their lights on gently over an hour in the morning with a sunrise effect, bright daylight during the day, a pinkish sunset in the afternoon, and a blue night-time scene with a spot of white in the middle so I can still see them. That stays on through to midnight, and it then fades to off over an hour. All automatically. This has replaced a basic timer switch that just abruptly turned the original flouro tubes on and off, and I'll never have to adjust it for daylight savings too.
This product is extendable to up to 10 meters through buying additional meter lengths, and can be cut to size at specific points, but check carefully where you can cut them, it isn't just anywhere.
Installation is easy, just follow the instructions and google any questions you have, they have a lot of helpful information on their support site. Just make sure your WiFi router is using 2.4 GHz on b, g, n standards – all WiFi routers will support this, just be sure you're not just using 5 GHz because Lifx lights don't connect to that.
