“Silent” – Excellent keyboard for the first 3 months of use then keys start getting noisier and noisier and 12 months on there’s no difference in noise between the “silent” keyboard and a standard

Long time Logitech user - MK295 great – Have used the cheapest wireless MK keyboard+mouse for 5+ yrs and was good (noisy keys never bothered me). Always have 2 sets (work and home) and one mouse after 5 yrs got 'sticky'. I bought another set (well known brand - new, mouse worked <50%) so returned that and got MK295. After 1 days use I bought a 2nd one for work - love it! Good keyboard, soft 'non-shiny' touch and mouse nice and simple though may not suit people who need an ergo mouse. Bargain at $39 (Officeworks, though I may have seen this set for $60-ish too?)

Purchased in at Officeworks for $39.

Keyboard fine, mouse bad – I bought this keyboard and mouse combo from an Officeworks store 1 year and 9 months ago to use for working from home on my Windows laptop. The keyboard has been fine. It's comfortable to use, keystrokes are quiet (thanks to the advertised and unimaginatively-named 'SilentTouch technology'), battery lasts a long time and I haven't experienced any functionality or connectivity issues.

The mouse, on the other hand, started developing some annoying functional issues after the 12-month mark (unfortunately for me, after the warranty ended). First, the right-click began to gradually lose sensitivity, which meant that I would have to press harder for a click to be registered. I ran every troubleshooting step available on the Logitech Support website to no avail, so I decided to just put up with it. After a few months, the same issue began to happen for the left-click - and likewise, has progressively got worse since then. I'm now using a mouse which will frequently not register clicks on both the left and right buttons, unless I remember to click hard/firmly.

I understand that mice wear out over time, but I don't think 1 year and 9 months is a reasonable lifespan for a mouse, particularly when it's been sitting on a desk the entire time; I haven't transported it, used it for travel and it hasn't been subjected to any physical damage. I reached out to both Logitech Online Support and the Officeworks store I bought it from, and neither could help due to the product being outside warranty. I'll be buying a new keyboard/mouse combo shortly, and I won't be considering Logitech.
