Logitech Wireless Mouse M305

good little mouse without the troubles of M$ issues – I've had my M305 mouse for the last 2 years and never had an issue, however the USB dongle has become a little loose from plugging and pulling out of my Toshiba's USB ports... The mouse's operation with Windows 7 is a little on and off with the middle scroll button 'Left & Right' functions working here and there and not consistently with all programs and systems.
Otherwise the mouse is pretty good, the battery / dongle hatch has lasted a million openings and closings and some pretty good drop kicks also. The battery life is extended if you use Energizer Lithiums and Duracell Lithiums, upto 6 months or more of solid use!
Fit is perfect and I have medium size hands, no issues with movement or tiring. Reliable, good battery life, light, well engineered, cheap Limited colours available from retailers, short warranty, dongle needs to be stronger.
Hi Mr Manager, the M305 is a sturdy little battler. I dont have the booklet that came with it, however I believe that the dongle wasnt 100% from factory and putting it in and pulling out of the USB slot every day has just worsened it. The side scroll feature isnt a software issue, but more a compatibility issue with different sites, and products. Other than that its a pretty good mouse compared to my M50something, that was binned after 12 months...
USB toggle ... do not lose it! Else ok – Recognized by Windows & nearly all Linux operating systems. Like the middle-button sideways scroll, missing on cheaper equivalents. Use rechargeable AA ok; gives warning light when low battery. Double the $$ would give me the Logitech universal usb toggle, which I lost on my $75 Logitech wireless trackball (which is a waste of $75).
@ gregzeng1 if you email generalaus@logitech.com they will be able to help you with the missing USB dongle.
Excellent – I bought this two weeks ago along with a laptop. Its a very tidy compact unit. The USB receiver sticks out of the port less than a centimetre so you don't even notice it. It takes one AA battery and I have been using a rechargeable which is still going strong. There is a power saver function so it will shut itself down when not in use although there is also an off switch. There is even a little space inside the mouse to slot the USB receiver inside for safe keeping when not in use. Very compact USB receiver, long battery life, smooth precision operation. Its a bit small - though I have big hands. A slightly larger size would be more comfortable for big man hands.
Good – This medium sized mouse is great for those who travel a lot and don't like using the mouse-pad on a notebook. The very small USB receiver is barely noticeable when plugged in and can readily be forgotten about. The mouse has sideways scrolling and the scroll-wheel can be used as a third button. The accompanying software makes changing preferences easy to manage. My only grouse is that the batteries don't last anywhere near as long as those in my previous Microsoft mouse did. The warning that the battery is getting low comes on just before the battery dies, so you need to always be sure that you have a ready-charged replacement on hand. Compact size is great for travelling, sideways scrolling. Short battery life and too short warning.

Hi Slazmo, the M305 isn't a current model in our range although check with our Support Team on 1800 025 544 regarding the Warranty and issue with your dongle, from memory it was a 3 Year Limited Warranty - if you still have the Logitech documentation that came with it, it would have been outlined in that.
In regards to the side to side scroll please make sure you have all the latest updates etc for the software you are using.
