Took pants to Bondi Junction store to be taken up. I asked for the original hem depth - of about 10cm - to be replicated to ensure these wide leg pants fell properly when worn. pyjama pants. I pointed this out. Because I had already paid the woman at the front counter said she couldn't give me a discount. I said I understood I had been charged extra to replicate the original hem style. She said no, it's because these are wide leg pants. She then offered a 20% off voucher for next time. What a joke, there's not going to be a next time. I walked out furious I paid $45 for them to ruin an expensive new garment. And since when are hemming prices based on the width of the pants? Never again.

I have been going to Looksmart in the Canberra centre for well over 20 years and in that time the staff have been wonderful, knowledgeable and offer great customer service. is exceptional! However this most recent time I brought a dress in to be altered will definitely be the last time I go there. I had unpicked the hem for them to save them time so they could add a false hem, the cost of that was $67.50 to sew on a false hem, the dress had other alterations done to it which I was happy to pay for, but to charge $67.50 for a hem on an unlined cotton dress is absolutely robbery!

Save yourself time, money and harassment by avoiding this Looksmart branch at Booragoon. The one at Perth DFO is much quicker, friendlier and does good work for less money.

Looksmart Belmont Forum WA My Wife took a dress to Looksmart to be hemmed up, the dress had 2 layers and inner and outer. at no stage did she asked for the inner layer to be altered. manager was not available and insisted it could be fixed. It wasnt and as per their terms and conditions my wife asked for a refund and the price of the dress that was now ruined. Since then I have had the run around with the store owner/manager. worst customer service every. And Head office impossible to contact and take no responsibility. Another fabulous experience with the lovely ladies at Looksmart Alterations Bullcreek, Perth WA. Took 2 tops that weren't fitting right (been sitting in my wardrobe for a year), I explained my concerns and during my fitting I was offered a few options that involved thinking outside the box and within my budget. Poor quality and dishonest. Requested waist adjustment of a pair of Armani designer jeans to bring back to original size. Even thought the original stitching line was clearly visible, they did a terrible job with the stitching and did not match the thread type. They also removed the Armani label and lost it, then tried to tell me it was never there in the first place. I would avoid using them for any expensive clothing. Show details

Had a terrible ordeal with picking my husband’s work jacket, which was his favourite. They had replaced a zip in it. The lady at the front desk had given it away to some other customer. Fortunately enough, the lady picked up the phone and I was chasing her husband around Knox city shopping centre to find my husband’s jacket

The lady in question at the front desk was telling me a bunch of lies, saying that the customer that took my husband’s jacket had put my name down on a piece of paper. That’s why the mistake happened. this was not true.

Fortunately enough, the man had got contact from his wife and return the jacket. Nearly an hour later

Yes, things worked out in the end, but I would warn you not to leave your items there. Get them done on the spot if possible, or I would not use this service at all. There is another one in the centre that will do things on the spot.

I took a pair of black pants to the Karrinyup store to be shortened. They also suggested I take in the width of the legs a little too, which I agreed to and was charged $97. the front of the pants to hang unevenly. I returned a week after this, the legs were still uneven, and the lady suggested that they were fine maybe my legs were uneven! I handed them back again. After this 3rd attempt, they still looked uneven but it was difficult to tell if this was because of what had been done to the width and therefore how this was causing the pants to hang. I asked to speak to the actual tailor, he came out and suggested that the uneven legs could be fixed by ironing! I managed to obtain a partial refund and took them elsewhere. Would definitely not recommend.

Would not honour the promotion they have advertised and were instead trying to charge me over $130 for a $20 promotion. And the women in the store were INCREDIBLY rude. Will not be using this service again. Show details

Zipped – My daughter’s favourite dress had a zip issue. To be frank the zip arrived there with no zip. I was very impressed with the customer service. It was not an expensive dress but had sentimental value. They did a really good job repairing it. I found the price to be very reasonable and they did a really good job. Show details

Looks-like they can't be trusted with customer information – I don't recall ever using Looksmart Alterations and I certainly wouldn't have given them permission to send me unsolicited advertisements, but they've started spamming me. I strongly urge people to stay away from them.

Useless – Had tags sewn on three pairs of jeans. Tags were sewn through back pocket and into jeans. Pockets are useless now. There is nothing SMART about the business in Smithfield Cairns. Beyond stupid.

No customer service – Non existent service. Tried calling the Carindale Westfield store and no one picks up the phone. Called head office Sydney same thing. Emailed no response Been waiting 5 days to pick up dress that was a basic stitch to fix a strap ! Show details

Great service – I go to Looksmart Elizabeth, South Australia. They’ve done many alterations for myself and girls clothes, I’ve been coming to them over 5 years, never a problem. Staff are courteous, it’s a fast turnaround anyway but if they can help you out quicker they do - they are pricey and you’re paying for quality sewing. I had tried other mending/ Tailor business but they said it was a difficult job and were unwilling to mend it. Meh im sure there are better out there – Never had something altered before. Paid $70 to have a pair of dress trousers shortened by 2 inches, was charged $60 and it took 2 weeks. The hem then fell apart after one wash so now I have to get them fixed again. oh well... :( Customer service was kind at least.
