Macquarie Commercial & Business Sales

Complete scam – Same as the other reviews here. We were scammed big time.We Listed our business with them in 2014. Got a heap of attention from them when they were trying to get the listing. They over valued the business and then charged us $7000 for the advertising and the person who was to be looking after us was never to be seen again. Never answered his phone… Read more
or replied to my emails. The ad in the book didn't come out for ages. Indeed I am not sure it ever would have got published except for me hounding them. I think by the time it came out I had already listed the business with a "real" broker and moved on. We got a few emails from a Mary who we never met. She was purely office based and had no idea about our business at all. They did send one potential buyer along, but he was sent on his own. No agent came with him. What a joke! It's a token effort to pretend they are actually trying to sell your business when they are really in business to take your dollars for useless advertising. They might get lucky and snag the odd sale, but it would be a very rare event.
I had a bad feeling when we were signing the initial engagement contract with Macquarie. I caught the look on the agent's face when I got my credit card out to pay the fee. It was a real "gotcha" foxy look and I nearly pulled the pin then. Should have trusted my gut. I would have done more about pursuing this matter when we realised we'd been stung, but my husband suddenly fell very ill shortly thereafter and our whole world went nuts so I let this all go. Only remembered how terrible the whole Macquarie thing was when I was clearing out old emails just now. Feel bad I didn't post review earlier in order to help others avoid same trap. Macquarie should not be allowed to operate. Footnote of good news is we did sell the business in 2016, through a proper broker, for half of what Macquarie valued it at.
A Scam!! – My business has been listed with them for 6 years!!!! I have received no qualified leads, just names of people who they said had contacted them. No inspections. No care, just wanted my $6000. incorrect information given to supposed prospects. For the reviewer below, they are still in business as I received an email from "[name removed]- Sales Manager" asking if I had a business I wanted to sell!!
Absolute scam – They are the biggest scam artists, they take your money to list with them then you never hear from them and buyers emails all get unanswered. They should not be allowed to still be running! Absolute scam
Don't use Macquarire- they are dodgy! – These guys just take your money and you never hear from them again Can anyone else help as to where we can take a complaint against their conduct?
Burned badly – Don't part with your dollars. We have had our business for sale with them for 5 years and all we have had are a few first enquiries. Back in December and January I emailed them to change and upgrade our advertisement but have had no response at all. Today I have phoned several times and all you get is an answering machine. Are they still in business?
Scam Con Artists – Macquarie Commercial & Business Sales SELLS advertising, not your business. That's why they make it so difficult with the 'CA' & don't respond to potential 'buyers'. It's only when 'sellers' realise they've been scammed & make noise that MC&BS respond with generated emails. Macquarie Commercial & Business Sales do not deal with overseas nor… Read more
'Migration' buyers.
It's all smoke & mirrors, how they make money is when 'Sellers' "sign up" for costly advertising, the advertising dollars go straight to the sister advertising company, the Consultant gets paid his commission, listing goes up & 'Buyer' is put through hoops as Macquarie Commercial & Business Sales HAS NO INTEREST in selling a business as they have already made the money.
Southport Qld is the only office they have, the rest are rose glass.
Scam, stay far far away.
The Macquarie experience is a scam, I got burnt by this, don't allow anyone else, stay away!
How do they stay in business? – Tried multiple times to enquire about businesses through them. Nearly every time I haven't received any response. On the one occasion I had to chase them up many times. Finally arranged with them to meet the seller to arrive at the business and the owner had no idea it had been arranged or who I was. Didn't receive any follow up from them post the meeting. Truly pathetic!!
"Disgruntled who?, please " – "Disgruntled who?, please " And I will have your file checked and publish the results. Thanking you in anticipation, Bruce # 0412 08 1447
Don't List With Macquarie – Macquarie overpriced our property and charged us over $13,000 to list. We have the same complaint as above. When emails came to Macquarie, inquiring about our business they did not respond. I was also sent the emails and when I questioned them on further action they had done nothing. The agent who listed us was never to be seen again and our… Read more
business was handed to a clerk who had never seen our property. She did not reply to buyer emails until I prompted her and at times acted very confused about who had actually asked questions about us.
Once they had our money they showed no interest whatsoever. Do not list with them.
Don't list at MacQuarie. People can't buy if they can't find out basic info – I'm looking at purchasing a business. Anyway, I found a couple of "possibles" at MacQuarie, although they don't list basic info, like how much the business would cost to acquire. So I go onto their website, fill out all their excessive forms, and wait for a reply. And nothing. They didn't even reply. I repeat this process via another… Read more
section of their website, and nothing. No reply, no info. I've none this for 3 different businesses for sale, 4 times, and I've had static in return. It's the most extraordinary thing ever. Maybe they only care for $500k+ businesses?
Business owners list with them because they're the biggest. But when they don't provide even basic info, even after filling out all of their excessive forms, then they're driving away potential buyers. Like me.
If it's from MacQuarie, I for one won't even bother.
