From consultation to surgery. Dr Samuel Dance was professional, attentive, and incredibly skilled. My lens procedure went perfectly, and I’m so grateful for the outcome. So thank you Dr S Dance and you team Also not to forget the welcoming and caring reception staff .

Cried all the way home after wasting almost $700 – The appointment cost almost $700 and I was told by Dr Byrne that I don’t have an eyesight problem because everyone wears glasses and that his team were able to get close to near-perfect vision in both of my eyes when they adjusted my glasses prescription. glasses or what I should wear or do with my eyes - as I’d need to see an optometrist! Even though I went specifically to see Dr Byrne because I was having trouble seeing with my glasses on!!! So I now need to see and pay somebody else to FIX my vision problem! It is an expensive waste of my time and money!!!! It's great I don't have an eye condition, however, I went to see them because I couldn't see properly - if an optometrist could have solved my issue under Medicare - I should have been told this at the triage (phone call) stage! INSTEAD of you taking my $700 and putting me through hours of testing and Dr Byrne’s rudeness only to walk away with no new glasses prescription and $700 poorer! I got NOTHING from their service, whereas I could have received something for multiple services covered by Medicare at the Optometrist. However, I wasn't advised of this when I called them. Instead they were happy to take my money and waste my time. The irony is that I now can't afford the new glasses needed to fix my vision issues and have needed to put off seeing the optometrist to save up for some new glasses after losing $700 at Marsden’s. It’s crazy!!!

Excellent Team – Professional clinical team Okay reception team Wait times around 1 hour which is expected as I needed to do eye testing first put some drops then see the Specialists. It's not like a normal GP where u don't get anything done besides seeing the doctor

Excessive wait times and extremely rude young women at reception – Reception: no signs to say which desk to go to and VERY RUDE young women at the desk where you pay..absolutely no friendly customer service - I have never experienced such arrogance! dialate this would lead one to expect to be finished within an hour not 2 hours. Dr Tan was lovely and I wonder if hr realise just how badly their patients are treated by the staff in the ground floor reception area

Unreasonable hidden costs – The staff asked me to do a field test on 12/2 but I told her that I done it at OPSM on 12/23. Also they didn't told me the quote until I paid at the counter. It seems to very unreasonable and ridiculous for the hidden costs without disclosure to the patient prior to the test.

Perfect for me! – I have been going to Marsden Eye Specialists for a long time. I am very happy with the way the doctors and staff attend to patients. I have always been and continue to be kindly and professionally cared for! Thank you Marsden!

An overall horrendous experience – Arrive early for the allocated appointment time? - Then expect to regularly wait 3+ hours to be seen. There is no difference whatsoever.

When you are then seen - you are rushed through treatment by the doctors like cattle.

Front desk staff are rude, ignorant & arrogant.

One certain specific ophthalmologist seen by my mother, promises certain things - such as agreeing to perform certain treatments - or to bulk bill certain treatments/medications - then forgets and denies it on the next visit. Constantly - as in almost every single visit. Staff then (illegally) demand immediate payment - for example for things that are on the Medicare PBS scheme - which are then later found to not require cash payment at all.

Overall if you or your loved ones require care & treatment - require anything to be clearly explained to them - require any kind of tailored treatment plans - then the overall experience at this clinic in trying to obtain that is horrendous. I'm not sure if they just over-book and take on too many patients - But the strong impression is this is just a factory type environment - 'Stack them in - GET THEIR CASH (whether or not you are entitled to it) - and shovel them out.'

Treatments are also not cheap here - they will take you for whatever they think they can get out of you. For example, if they demand payment of $800...If you question why that payment is different to the last identical treatment and is so high - that bill suddenly becomes "Ohhh yes...That's only $600...Sorry."

Dodgy specialist instruction?...Or poor staff training/Administrative staff ignorance?

Whatever it is - It is unacceptably unprofessional.

We have decided to take on (cheaper) treatment - but at a clinic much more inconvenient & further away from home - Just in order to get away from this environment. Absolutely zero level of confidence in their level of tailored treatment or care.

Incompetent – Complete and utter waste of your time, had a 10am appt, had me wait for 45mins then let me know that I could go upstairs to wait for another 20 or so minutes, while people with later appts are going straight through before me. 10am doesn't mean somewhere near 1130. Asked to be reimbursed for partner and I needing the day off, babysitting, tolls and fuel, was meet with a snort of derision, and a pathetically fake apology.

Stay away from this place!!! – To sum it all up, a complaint has been filed with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. It may take some time for OAIC to get to this case, but they have the final say …...
