Had my mchitch reciever stolen off my car. Tried ringing and emailing mchitch. No reply. Found austrac campers in Caboolture are a distributor. Went and saw them, was told would take 48 hrs and order online.Ordered reciever, told them my predicament that i was 1300km from home and needed to get home. Just got tracking number after a weeks wait… Read more

and told it wont be here until next week. So im going to have to buy a diffrent hitch. Terrible back up service dont know if i will use the Mchitch just because they have stuffed me around so much. Disgraceful.

McHitch - Great Coupling Solution – I had a McHitch on our old van for 5 years and never an issue. Great for hooking up on my own using the reversing camera. Latest van has DO45 and it is a much slower process hooking up on your own trying to get the tow pin lined up to drop the van down, and it doesn't always unhitch easily. I will likely scrap the DO45 and put a McHitch on our latest van. Show details

Just no – Absolute rubbish. Easy to connect but unless you’re on a perfectly flat and even surface, you won’t disconnect. Asked several others in a caravan park and they all agreed that these hitches tow safely but not in the same league as a similar product. Show details

McHitch great Hitch – I have had this hitch for a number of years and fid it to the best hitch the market, I inspect the hitch every time I hook up and park the caravan, that should be standard procedure on ang hitch. I completed about 50,000 KM with out a fault.

Great tow hitch – I have been using a Uniglide McHitch for the past 6 years. It is so easy to use, have been in the situation where the two parts do not line up perfectly but have not had any trouble with hooking up. I find I am able to do the whole hitching and unhitching on my own easy as. Obviously those who complain about the hitch don’t follow the instructions… Read more

or learn from experience, persevere for a bit it and it will all come good. Very happy camper. Pity they aren’t made any more.

My second McHitch and very pleased – I have been using vertical McHitches for about 8 years. the first was on my camper trailer. That one was butchered by a recovery driver in Kununurra where he managed to strip both the top and bottom threads on the "ball"( which took real talent). Mc hitch air freighted a new one within a few days. My current one is a conversion kit to a poly block… Read more ·  2

and works super well on my offroad van. I have not moved to a horizontal one as I have to unhitch on a slope outside my house and I feel the vertical works best as it cannot jam with load. I find that you can be much less accurate in hitching and unhitching as you can approximate the position of the car to van and then just turn the hitch to meet the tow "ball". Even if you are out of line you can give a few kicks and it drops on. All in all I am very happy with the two McHitches that I have used. I carry a spare "ball" now in case some other recovery driver manages to destroy my "ball".

Amazing Hitch, everyone needs one with great support – I've been using my McHitch now for over 3 years, always performed excellent. It is so simple to use, can be done by 1 person. Everyone needs to upgrade to one. Customer support has always been fantastic, Joe goes beyond my expectations with the product. Show details

McHitch works well – Had an old style 50mm ball on an off road van has obvious potential issues. Had to learn how to operate the new McHitch,- needs to be level when dis/connecting. Works very well now I have modified my thinking. Extra 90mm length has not proven to be an issue. I took weight readings at the actual connection point, (not the theoretical) and all… Read more

were well within my vehicles requirements. My vans A frame was spec’d extra long so the 90mm extra length of the McHitch is a mute point. Very good product.

Good product, BUT, let down by manufacturer and warranty – Hitch failed at highway speed. contacted manufacturer. Was told hitch was old and had done a lot of work. It was 4 years old and had towed a van around australia on bitumen roads. It has a 5 year warranty. I was informed by manufacturer that he could not help me until he had personally inspected it at Lithgow NSW. Product is not supported in rural… Read more

areas. Had to get a tilt tow to the nearest town, 4 nights accommodation, due to long weekend, and purchase standard 50mm ball and hitch when shops finally opened after long weekend. Suggest this hitch only be used within walking distance of manufacturer. Manufacturer said the hitch must have been loose, which I disputed as I am a regular traveller and mechanic. I check all fittings before and during trips. This hitch was checked only weeks prior, and has not travelled even 1000klms since.

Best hitch on the market – After reading some of these reviews, I am amazed at how inept some people are at hitching and unhitching their vans. I love our McHitch. It is strongly built, and simple to use. Mark the level on the jockey wheel before you unhitch, and return it to that level before you re-hitch. It connects up straight away and locks in. It’s a simple one person job and pretty much idiot proof. Show details

too much trouble – yes, it tows well, thats it. Connecting and disconnecting is an absolute pain in the neck. It will only connect if it is lined up perfectly straight and level and to disconnect it needs two people, one to try releasing lever while the other winds the jockey wheel up and down to release pressure.

Something to Consider – I very nearly ordered a mchitch 3.5 coupling for my three ton caravan after seeing one on my brother in laws rig. Then I was informed that it extends the length of the ball receiver by about 100mm which in turn necessitated the relocation forward of the Hayman Reese WDH A-Frame brackets by the same amount - on my particular set-up this was not an option. Having said that he is very happy with his and I would certainly have purchased otherwise.

NOTHING BUT TROUBLE – I am absolutely sorry I purchased this coupling, this first attempt to hitch up my van the coupling failed and actually bent the locking lever, after straightening the lever and finally getting it to lock on (that wasn’t easy as lining up the receiver to the correct level that has to be perfect, this is time consuming) after towing my van and… Read more

trying to unhitch the unit wouldn’t release. It’s more time consuming to use than the original coupling, my answer was to replace the coupling back to the original unit, some $780.00 out of pocket

What an improvement – Bought this after the poly block hitch that came with our camper disintegrated after only 18 months. 'Wow' is what I want to say. Ok, it's not the cheapest, but you will really enjoy being able to reverse and connect your hitch by yourself first go. The other thing is that driving with the camper is much smoother now than with the poly block.

Great hitch – I have a mchitch 3.5 automatic on a 2.5 ton MDC XT12. The hitch is great. There is no movement or knocking and it’s easy to hitch up. Great product.

Best improvement made to my camper ever – Camper came with the standard Poly Block hitch, always hated these things so after some research came by the McHitch Best move I have made, with my camera I can back straight onto the coupling, have had the camper off road many times with the McHitch on and is so much smoother and the flex in this coupling is fantastic Only recommendation I… Read more

have is to regularly spray with DriGlide to make un hitching a little easier, other than that is a great unit

Smooth as – Have done about 20k with the auto. Coupling and couldn't be happier. Knowing that it is impossible for the van to come off gives you peace of mind especially when the roads are getting crappier. Well Done Joe!

4.5 ton Auto coupling – 4.5 ton on my 25' caravan works great. Couples up with ease and uncoupling is just as easy. I think my van is even better behaved in windy conditions than before and no more twisting pressure on the rear of the tow bar. Looks great on as well.

Makes life easy, a must have – Fitted a Mchitch to my tow tug and caravan. It is the auto coupler and is the easiest hitch to use. No more winding the jockey wheel up a long way, easy for my wife to use or by myself. No squeaks, thumps or bangs at any time taking off or breaking, just so quiet. Works well with my HR, WDH. The service offed by the company in Lithgow is outstanding. Best money I have spent on the caravan
