Better interest rates than any other banks !!! – Not sure why this product has a negative reviews, but most likely it was the start of the process, I have had a ME bank Credit card for just 9.99% interest rates. I am not sure if there is any other bank does provide this low and without any annual credit fees. Extremely happy with the service and the Mobile app is keep getting updated with updated features. Hopefully they will win the trust again for unhappy customers.
Beware Overseas Travel with ME Bank Mastercard – ME Bank cancelled my MasterCard due to fraudulent transactions - Good. Then, they did not advise me that they had cancelled it. not get the details. Asked for a Electronic Transactions Dispute form - but I had no details - very Bad. I asked for a temporary emergency card so I could hire a car - try that without one overseas. MasterCard International were ready to send one out to me within 2 days if ME Bank agreed. ME Bank cancelled the MasterCard International temporary card without telling me. Ten days later - still no card so I called and was told that it took them 7 days to prepare a card but it was sent out two days ago - to Vancouver. I left on the plane back to Aus still without a card - extremely BAD. Told today they must have a written response to the form by mail. I now have a bill from ME Bank for $8K when I am $4K in credit if the fraud transactions were not paid out.
BAD BAD BAD. I am looking for another provider while I seek recompense for the extra monies their lack of decision making and procedures continue. Can I give them a minus 10 stars. Shocking!
Don't mention the security breach! – My ME MasterCard was cancelled, with only a text message telling me that they had experienced some sort of security breach -- at their end, not mine -- and that a new card and PIN would be issued in a week or so. security issues. We all know what a hassle it is, firstly being without a card for a week or more (ten days on and am till waiting for the PIN), and having to change all my online subscriptions that rely on card details. Worse, they killed off access to transaction records for the cancelled card. Just when you are concerned about what might have happened to your account prior to cancellation, you can't log on and check! So, spread the word -- coz ME certainly won't -- that some unknown number of MasterCard holders were subject to a security breakdown of unknown dimensions. And think about banking with someone who can identify with the needs of customers (and who isn't terrified of acknowledging their security limitations). Nothing once you get beyond the very small advantage on interest rates. Slow, inadequate information on an issue of importance to all consumers.
Old fashioned. NO chip! – Hopeless back office. Had to send application and supporting documentation on five separate occasions! It appears that the Sydey staff don,t talk to each other. Finally got the cards and - No ch - just the old fashioned highly suspect black stripe variety of Mastercard. No chip.
Excellent – Excellent, just like the other accounts I have with Members Equity. All the profits from Members Equity are going towards Superannuation returns for me and fellow Australians. No fees - with just a few transactions it is fee free. Direct debit available to automatically pay the balance on the due date. Internet access available to keep a tab on your spending.
