Can't live without it – I have had this pendant for 3 + years and it is great. I have had to use it unfortunately on more than one occasion. My son lives more than 50 km away and the first time I fell, I could hear his voice on the pendant speaker but I was not really in a state to explain what had happened. It sent my location to my son and he could see I was at home. I… Read more

did not even know the device could do this, it is really a wonderful piece of technology. I broke my tailbone, it was awful, but things could have been much worse. He alerted emergency services of my location immediately. Our property is on a farm, the neighbours would not have heard a sound. I feel lucky to be alive, the medi alarm literally saved my life. I am only 68 but I commonly suffer vertigo due to my ms. I have had to use it 3 times but even if I only used it once, it would be worth. Nothing is worth more than your health, I know that and I live by it. I feel secure wearing this device and I am so happy something like this exists in the world.

Stopped working after 18 months – Took 3 x weeks to arrive from Queensland to WA, stopped working properly once the warranty ran out after 12 months. Gave up and threw it in the bin after 18 months Show details

Alarm falsely triggers while driving may cause rather than prevent accidents – While this device maybe perfect for housebound clients, the alarm falsely triggers while driving each time you drive down a hill, upsetting wearer and contacts. This happens even after adjusting and staff will not take it back after 2 weeks even though it has a 12month warranty. This device did not give me more independence but caused much emotional distress. Show details

Works well and easy to use, amazing customer service – I purchased the Medi Alarm Pro 4G for my 90 year old grandpa. I liked how the screen shows battery level, date/time and that it's connected to the Telstra mobile network and working. The other one I looked at was black with a silver button, it didn't have a screen, so can't be sure if its working, and it had annoying flashing LED lights that make… Read more

a dark bedroom look like a disco. The Medi Alarm Pro 4G is black with yellow buttons, no LED lights thankfully, it has a screen and it just works. At first my grandpa had trouble figuring out how to use it but he called the Medi Alarm customer service and they helped him over the phone. Now he is very comfortable with using the device. There was a false alarm where he dropped it on the table, but we were able to quickly find out that everything was okay. He has used it twice in an emergency and we were able to find out what was happening and get help for him within minutes of him pressing the button. Medi Alarm's customer service really goes above and beyond, you can tell they care about helping you and are very patient in answering all your questions.

Great little device – The staff are always really good with answering questions. We went with medi alarm because of that. It just wasn't the same when we enquired elsewhere. Since buying the device they've been really good which makes me feel comfortable. The device has also been great, even though i'm very bad with technology, it's been easy for me. Mum lives alone,… Read more

Saves lives, very happy – My father is 88 and he has had early onset of dementia. Medi Alarm were very helpful and honest in their advice and since purchasing the device back in 2019, they have been very kind with their after sale support. I have reached out to them and spoken to Em and Tim many times. They were very quick and efficient.

False alarms – Purchased late last year. Gave a false alarm for no apparent reason which distressed the person wearing it. The seller agreed to refund the purchase price but when they did it was minus $90. They will not answer the phone or return Emails since so I would strongly recommend against purchasing this device. Show details

Great fall alarm but shocking audio – Purchased 4g Medi Alarm for my wife who is receiving pallitive care at home and has lost all mobility, the main reason for purchasing was for the hands free phone so she can receive calls from family and close friends which were programmed into medi alarm. I turned off fall alarm as it was not needed in our case. But the sound quality for incoming… Read more

calls was terrible, muffled and virtually useless for my wife's needs. If the audio quality was fixed, possibly using quality speaker it would be a great little unit.

Purchased for my grandma – I purchased this for my Grandma who is 88. Took a few minutes to explain how it works. I showed her what happens when she presses the button. It will send me a text with GPS location and then ring my phone. If I answer she can talk to me using the Medi Alarm. She seems very comfortable with it now and it gives her a bit of peace of mind. We had a… Read more

false alarm where she bumped the alarm and it detected a fall. But after calling the company they were able to adjust the fall sensitivity and it has been all good since then. Customer service is amazing, they go above and beyond to answer any questions or solve a problem.

After Care service is terrible – I decided to buy one of these alarms, with a fall detector, as I had a few serious falls lately. There are quite a few on the market, and after long research, this company sounded best on paper. The price of the unit included a sim card that was supposed to be a year’s worth of phone calls. I received it on the 30th August. The first thing I… Read more

noticed that the sound quality was shocking, planned to call about that on Monday. Then, I bent down to pick something up and the fall alarm went off, notifying all of my contacts (sending them GPS coordinates of where I was, which also happened to be incorrect) I phoned them immediately, got voicemail promising to call back within 10 minutes. Never happened. Cut a long story short, over the weekend I got several false alarms, the first one by removing it from the charger and hanging the lanyard over my neck and several by sitting down in a chair. Called them on Monday, they said they will reduce the sensitivity for me. I forgot to mention the sound quality. So, I called them back again, got voicemail, which (again) was never returned. The next day (the 3rd Sept) I was driving to a doctor’s appointment and it went off again, as I drove over a speed hump. I cancelled it immediately (which supposed to stop the alarm going out, but it doesn’t always work) My son phoned me and told me to send it back, as this is worse than not having an alarm. It is like the boy crying wolf; when/if I have an emergency, everyone will ignore it. The unit then started talking to me, and informing me that I need to recharge the sim card as I have run out of money. Seems all the false alarms used up a years’ worth of phone calls. So, I sent them an email detailing everything that happened. I never got a reply. I phoned them on Thursday the 5th, and managed to get through to a human after leaving several voicemails, with no reply. I asked if they had read my email, to save me repeating myself. We’ve been busy, I was told. No apology offered. Suggested they will make it even less sensitive. This time I remembered to mention the sound, she suggested I return it to them and they will check it out. We then had a debate about who should pay for the postage. Eventually, she told me they will send a return paid postage bag. It never arrived. Again, several phone calls later I managed to get a person on the 13th. No apology offered (again) just said she will check out if the bag was sent; and will call me back in a few minutes. Naturally, she didn’t. Rang then again this morning. Actually got them to answer the phone first time. Again no apology for not calling me back as promised, just said that she has sent the bag. This time she was right, it arrived. So, I am now sending it back to them, and I honestly would rather just get my money back, I have lost all faith in this device.
