most frustrating aspects of the Medinet app is its tendency to frequently log users in and out, disrupting the user experience and making it difficult to access upcoming appointments and view past documents seamlessly. Wouldn’t recommend – Awful. There was 1 Dr online, I book in for appointment & am told I’m first in line. Wait 1.5hours to then be told Dr wasn’t available. Won’t be using again.

Fast and convenient – There was a two week wait on local doctors, so I used the medinet app to get a referral for imaging, I was connected to a dr within 10 minutes and it only took a couple minutes to receive my referral letter. Very quick and easy to use.

Are Prescriptions a Scam using the MyPractice app? – I received my first prescription through the MyPractice app last month with 5 repeats. I was able to get the prescription filled without any problem. I did check the copy of the prescription through the app and verified that it had 5 repeats as normal. Anyway, I've just gone to order my first repeat, and low and behold, there aren't any prescriptions listed under my account any more! The history shows the last order that I did get, but that's it.

From a previous review here, I'm wondering if they just cancel all prescriptions after the initial order just to force you to go back and make more doctors' appointments just to drive more traffic through the surgeries. If so, that's a pretty big scam on Medibank.

Either way, it's not a good look. Are they just technically incompetant and lost the data or are they being malicious and trying to scam us through Medibank. I shudder to think about how well they are protecting our private data.

Omg tech at its WORST - TERRIFYING!!! – Apparently their system allows ANYONE to message you (anyone at all) ANYTHING and they don’t record it, control it, or protect it. After receiving unsolicited texts via their app, they can’t stop it. Is this even legal?

Online Dr refers you to in person Dr – Spoke to a Dr or rather messaged for 2 min and the Dr said go see a Dr. Seeing thats is why I was contacting the Medinet online Dr and no going to a Dr in their practice. So the function of Medinet Dr’s are to refer you to a Dr you can go see in person. And yes you will be charged $40 for the 2 min referral.

Good concept, poor execution – Getting an online session with a GP and receiving a prescription worked very well. But then the problems started. You are prompted to enter your preferred Pharmacy (note, Chemist Warehouse is not supported). The Medinet app informed me the prescription had been filled so I drove to the Pharmacy (Priceline) only to be told they hadn't received it.… Read more

I rang the Medinet helpline who confirmed the prescription had been emailed and suggested that the Pharmacist check their Junk folder. I went back in and the Pharmacist found it. I would suggest to Medinet that they only mark the Prescription as being FILLED only if the Pharmacy has acknowledged receipt of the email. The Pharmacist told me the prescription was marked Private which meant paying $72 instead of the usual $40. In addition, no Repeats were provided on the prescription (the standard with a bulk-billed GP is 5 repeats). I cancelled the Prescription and informed Medinet by email (no response) and by phone (the person who answered did not know what a Private prescription was and stated that he'd get back to me - he didn't). I would only recommend using Medinet in an absolute emergency. Financially it is not worth using the service on a regular basis.
