Mercator Ardene 3 in one bathroom heater might look good and heat well, but the fan is not strong enough to extract the steam fast enough and it condenses in the unit and then drops water back over live light globes. I do not recommend this unit.
Follow-up · We have been using this unit for 15 months, have tried everything that has been suggested all to no avail. The heating is ok but I would suggest a unit with higher heating capacity. My final word on this unit would be if you are considering one or it is standard with your builder, pay extra and get a unit that can cope with steam and heating in winter. No I do not recommend this unit.

Never again Mercator – Purchased 5 Mercator Sirocco 1300 DC ceiling fans on 16/9/2016. 4 fans failed immediately after installation. electrician confirmed the control unit was faulty. The 5th fan has just now failed on 5/1/2024. Warranty claim was just too hard so purchased replacement fans of another brand which are still performing really well.

to July 2021 and the thing made a terrible grinding noise and the fan stopped working because the nut assembly holding the fan on the spindle came away. Back on to Mercator. They sent another electrician out with a new unit, he installed it but as he hadn't removed the tape that is holding the exhaust flap closed for transport, it never did a good job of removing steam. Contacted Mercator about that too but I only got an automated response and they never followed up on my issue. Then a couple of weeks ago there was another bang and grinding noises and I had my suspicions that the nut assembly had fallen away from the fan assembly again only 3 months after it was installed. On to Mercator again another replacement unit, (same size unit but I chose a Heaton 3 in1 this time). The same electrician as last time came today and he confirmed my suspicions regarding the nut assembly coming away like the last one. He also confirmed my suspicion that he'd failed to remove the tape holding the exhaust flap closed for which he was most apologetic. He couldn't believe the same issue had occurred 2 times in a row so before he installed the new unit he checked the nut assembly on the new unit and found that it was extremely loose. He tightened it and said this is just really bad quality control because the nut assembly would have fallen off again in no time. So now I'm on my 4th Mercator Domino /Heaton 3 in 1 fan. Although they do a good job of extracting steam whilst the fan is working, the halogen heat lamp struggles to warm the bathroom in a timely manor. Would I recommend this line of 3 in 1 fans? Absolutely not. The quality control is obviously non existent and I've had nothing but headaches because of it.

replacement diffuser but Mercator customer service advise they don't carry spare parts. The switch to change the brightness shouldn't be inside the light and the diffuser should be made of sturdier material if you have to remove it to adjust the brightness mode.

Great customer service – I have a Mercator Samos ceiling fan, my new puppy chewed the remote. I emailed them about a replacement remote, they directed me where to get it from and upon request provided me with details on how to pair the new remote. The fan you buy when you've tried the rest – Bought the Mercator Glendale fan just recently. It is the quietest fan I've ever installed, and one of the easiest. Last fan was an Aldi fan, I really hesitated but thought their stuff is usually good but a dud controller after about 6 hours use in 3 years. I thought it serves me right, next fan will be a Mercator.

multiple faults – Samos with light. Looks great. Operated really well. However, initial fan install had to be replaced as fan didn't work then after 2 years just after warranty expired the fan broke, replacing the remote did not work and then they sent me a fan without a light to replace it. To be fair they did honour the warranty. After going through that nightmare it is now working well for the last few years. Maybe I just had bad luck with what is a great fan.

If you have Home Assistant and SkyConnect you end up with endless issues not least each time you upgrade.
I purchased 1 and tested it out and didn't pick-up this issue and then purchased close to 30 of them. Subsequently, I have had to remove several of them and replace with the old "dumb" power points, particularly the points to which critical appliances are connected.
Mercator first denied the issue. They later advised that they had identified it and were awaiting a fix - that has not happened as yet.
It's best to stay away from them and purchase a brand that does not behave in this manner.

new switches but leave only Mercator downlights because the two clashed. The system is NOT smart. For the APP to have control of lights the physical switch must be flicked on. Once that occurs, the APP takes over. If a family member walks up to the switch to control any light, the physical switch does not respond. You must take out your phone and use the APP. This is not good. My children and visiting family or friends do not have the APP so they walk into a dark room, flick the switch and expect the lights to turn on but instead no response and it reverts to me with the APP to try to figure it out. issue, rather the fan issue. He switched the fans and put the faulty ones in the rooms which are not used much. After that no communication, no information on when the fans will be fixed. I contacted them after an year and they have no record of electrician visiting the premise!
So their story is that they literally did nothing a year ago to fix the issue when the fans were within warranty!! Second time around again they have the same story that its a controller issue. Absolute trashy service and product.

the electricians double checked the work, the units are at fault. As the builder decides as to their next move we are initiating complaints with the ACCC in regards to their units not working as described and still being sold.

Slow Turning Fan – Have been waiting over one month for the ceiling fan to be replaced under warranty. Don't buy Mercator Fan (poor service when warranty is called for).
Piece of junk – We built a home in 2020 and had a Mercator Sorrento ceiling fan installed in our bedroom. The fan has been replaced THREE times under warranty and every single one breaks. Low quality lighting at not so low prices – Purchased two ALECIA 4 LIGHT LED PLATE SPOTLIGHT WITH BRUSHED CHROME (A19264BC) made by Mercator. Both lights included 4 LED globes. Terrible after sales service and warranty process – I bought a Domino 3-in-1 unit. The LED panel failed after a few months. I logged a claim which was approved, but they said I had to fit the part, even thou the product included a 2 year "In Home" warranty. Had to fight with the service team to get them to honour the In Home warranty after lots of excuses from them, they only offered me $80 to pay for a 3rd party contractor to replace. Don't buy Mercator products.
