Smooth sailing! – The Zip X5 operated as promised. Once I got used to which walking speed was best (5, BTW) it was all smooth sailing. I also really like the distance measuring facility Thanks MGi. JO'D Show details

Very useful golf accessory, especially to senior golfers! – I should have invested in one of these e-buggies long time ago. It's been a great relief for me especially on longer distances between boxes and undulating fairways. Easy and fun to operate. Show details

Makes my time on the course so much more enjoyable – My MGI X5 has made my golfing journey a better and more relaxing experience. Without the X5 I struggled on our hilly course, but now do with ease. A sturdy well designed product. Show details

Great on the course, poor on repair – Zip X5 is very good on our golf courses which are mountainous so we have a lot of up, down and side hill traversing. Unfortunately, the gear box seems to be a weak link. The nylon gears don’t standup to any misuse at all. Show details

Should have gone for the remote control model – It's easier, a LOT easier, than pushing a normal buggy - especially with a knee operation due soon. However, given the purchase opportunity again, I would have gone for the remote control model as the pre-set speeds on the X5 are either a bit too quick or a bit too slow for my gait. There are also a couple of things that don't seem to work as… Read more

advertised but, overall, I'm glad I got this buggy but, be very careful when buying accessories and make sure they state they're specifically for the X5. If you don't, you'll end up spending bucks on genuine accessories and find that it's a bit like Apple - they have to match the model.

Life ALittle Easier – Makes a round less physically challenging. Phone charger great now we have moved to online scoring. Good battery life. Easy to clean. Improvement wise The normal golf bag does not fit snuggly into bottom support. Bottom strap is a bit flimsy, we bought two buggies and both straps snapped with a month. Umbrella attachment needs an attachment… Read more

if you are over 180 CMS

The seat storage unit needs a stronger Velcro attachment it works it’s way open

Catch on rear wheel often gets caught.

A bit heavy for older people to lift

Bottle holder difficult to hold in position no matter how hard it is tightened

More explicit info needs to be provided on distance control on stop

Happy but annoying design grumbles – Purchased thru drummond golf. Very happy with service. So far am happy with X5 buggy, a couple of design flaws that I find annoying. I'm female 164cms tall, so preferably would have the handle adjustment on either the lowest or middle, but I also purchased an umbrella holder, so for me to use with the umbrella up, I need to have the handle at its… Read more

highest setting and I still run the risk of losing an eye as I need to duck under the umbrella! Also as the buggy has a central shaft & the umbrella holder is attached pretty close to the centre, which then crowds the access to the clubs. The long clubs, the driver, Woods etc get snagged in the open umbrella when trying to remove clubs from bag...and you have to navigate around the umbrella shaft so solution was to buy another add on being the umbrella holder extension! Really !!? who design these buggies, midgets!...so that was my main grumble. The 2nd grumble is no add ons for holding balls and tees on the handle. Sure I could buy a score card holder that has balls and tee slots, but why, we predominantly use phone apps to score and this is yet another add on! My simple walkinshaw push buggy has 3 ball holders, 6 tees, 3 markers slots and drink holder all built into the handle, plus the umbrella holder is on far side of handle well out of the centre giving very easy access to the clubs in bag (no crowding) and the walkinshaw umbrella holder is 4 inches longer once installed, than this X5's. I think at the price for a motorised cart, these add-ons should be designed into the handle at best or as simple add ons, and the design gurus need to rethink the umbrella holder, it needs to be taller, or sold simply with the extension.and if they are smart design gurus they could design the ball holders and tee holders into the umbrella holder, it already has a long screw into the shaft, make this longer and add in the ball holders etc, along this and it will then move the umbrella away from the centre shaft allowing easy access to the clubs... My third grumble is the patina of the main body, I ordered the charcoal (grey) colour, which is terrific, it is a "matte" finish, but it is only the handle shaft, the main body of the buggy is the pristine shiny black!...all that shine will be a nightmare to keep clean, hopefully they get smart and do the main body in the matt finish and future zips will benefit!...so that's my initial grumbles, and hopefully that will be all....UPDATE - POSITIVE FEEDBACK. Have received the umbrella extension and am happy with the height, no more poke in the eye!! Also have used the buggy in all conditions including very wet boggy and hilly terrains....am very happy ....and will loudly recommend to all who ask!

The X5 wont track straight – The X5 is the most solidly constructed buggy on the market. I have been using the MGI buggies for the last 10 years and the X5 doesn't let you down. My wife has a PowerKaddy CT6, with the GPS distances to hole, and she is happy with that. One thing that is very annoying is that the X5 doesn't track straight, even when the front wheel is in the… Read more

locked position. As a result, the controllable distance function is useless as the buggy will turn 90 degrees in less than 5 metres even on flat ground. The buggy requires full hands on control at all times, as it won't ever go straight. This means that simple multitasking such as putting on a wood cover while the buggy moving is not comfortable at all, as the buggy makes a beeline for the bushes, water or just off the path and over towards the adjacent fairway. I wish MGI would fix this in the X5 as a $1500 buggy should be more comfortable to use. Did I say it is a robust buggy? Yes it is. Is it annoying? Yes it is. Update 2024 The charger failed and MGI did not consider warranty, and I had to pay $200 for a replacement charger. I expected the charger to not fail in this short period, and half way through the life and warranty of the battery, but it is hard to get everything you expect.

As good as you can get – This is my second zip x5 previous one got damaged in car accident. Noteable improvments are 1. Stronger axle 2. Usb slot 3. More tread on tyres. Speed control button sensitivity and selection could be better but still probably best buggy available in australia if you dont like remote control version. Show details

It’s quite good almost perfect! – My Zip X5 really helps with my game, is well balanced, folds up easily and fits neatly into my car. It covers the ground smoothly and easily. I would have liked a bit more tread on the tyres for the steeper slopes especially when they are wet or uneven. Show details

A perfect piece!! – Great ergonomic design with easy folding system. Wheels come off and turn around to make the buggy compact for storing in the boot of your car. The standard battery will complete more than 2 rounds in any given day on a hilly course! Great lit up display and counter. Only negative is between speeds settings 5, 6 & 7, there needs to be half speeds to match walking pace. Overall - a fantastic product!! Show details

Great to assist me to walk up hills as i get older – Great machine. Delivers beyond expectation. Battery life supposedly one round, but i can get two and a half rounds. Be careful not to drop a club on the screed as it can crack. I did this. Expensive to replace. Very happy with the buggy. Show details

Have recommended to other club members – My MGI is great. There are a number of other women golfers in my club who have this model and also the automated models. We all love our buggies except for one very minor fault. We all find that the speed control needs to be graduated, not set at definite speeds. All ladies spoken to agree that a speed of 4 1/2 would be excellent. Sometimes 4… Read more

is good, othertimes 5. Obviously for up and down hills and in the rougher spots it is good to be able to change, however just normal playing up the fairway walking 4 1/2 would be perfect, but is unobtainable. One other detail, not necessarily a fault is if you have the seat accessory, dirt flicks from the wheel and gets caught in the area the seat slides into. Users need to be aware to regularly remove seat from housing and clean thoroughly. I also tend to use a silicone spray to try and keep dirt out of the housing. Apart from these very minor issues, I enjoy the use of my buggy and will continue to recommend it to other members of our club.

Golf made easier – My home course in Victoria is regarded as being quite hilly. I never realised how much effort it took me to push/pull the clubs around 18 holes. With my X5 I found that I was fresher at the end of the round and my golf was better in the final holes. The downhill control is fantastic as is the stop function on hills. Don't know why I waited so long. Show details

Golfing with less fatigue – I generally play at a hilly and undulating course and since buying the MGI Zip X5 buggy I have found that I have more energy at the end of the round. I find that I am not as stiff and sore as when I was pushing and pulling my previous buggy. The big surprise is, I am able to get 3 rounds of golf out of the battery before charging it up. Can highly recommend the MGI Zip X5 Show details

Love my MGI – My Zip 5 now has over 800 kms on the clock- without a single blip. Like a car, I figure it needs to be serviced at regular intervals so at 500 kms it went for a check up and freshen. Care for your MGI and it will work well for you! Show details

Best Golf Buy outside of my clubs – It’s been fantastic for me as I can use all my energy on swinging my clubs instead of the toil of pushing a buggy. Whilst my home course is quite flat I’ve played some very challenging and hilly courses here in Tasmania where the buggy has been a must have. Show details

Great for hilly courses – Works really well on the hills at Headland Golf Club particularly during hot Queensland summer days and on wet grass - wide tread wheels. Handicap still much the same but nowhere near as tired after 18 holes. Show details

Great Decision – I have always had hand me downs and my decision to go new with MGI Zip 5 has been the best ever. The weight of the unit was a real plus, making easier to lift into the back of my SVU. Easy to control and plenty of power with one suggestion being that a speed between 4 and 5 would be a bonus. Show details

Perfect fit! – Excellent for transitioning from push cart to fully remote, if that is in the cards, both in functionality and cost. Lots of power, traction and stability. Year one for battery (100 rounds); no issue getting 2 rounds out of one charge (not on purpose). This is a step up from my Sun Mountain electric cart – Easy to set up and take down. I play on a very hilly course and have no problem on either the steep uphill or downhill terrain. Perfect companion for my Round of Golf! – I was turning 70 and decided it was time to gift myself a battery operated assistant on the course. I had been enjoying my 3-wheeled push cart and wanted to be able to walk the course and I worried that a battery assisted cart wouldn’t provide enough exercise. However, I still am walking while playing and getting lots of exercise without ruining my posture while pushing uphill! Show details

It makes a significant difference – Before I bought the MGI Zip X5 I thought I didn’t really need a motorised buggy. I was one of those golfers that thought it was an unnecessary luxury for “old guys”. However, I now honestly believe it saves me multiple strokes a round due to a massively reduced fatigue factor, especially over the last 3 or 4 holes. The MGI Zip X5 is easy to set… Read more

I thought it was a luxury but it has proved to be an absolute necessity – The buggy is easy to fold and unfold. Easy one person lift into the car. The battery life easily handles 18 holes and looks like it could go around again. The X5 is really well constructed from very sturdy materials and rolls very smoothly. All the accessories are high quality products. Show details

Make’s life on the course easy – Joined a new golf club that is very hilly, the x5 has made it possible for me to keep walking the course. I actually now think I should have invested in one years ago as I now don’t feel worn out after my round. Easy to lift in and out of my car and folding it up is a simple process, much easier then some manual buggies I have had in the past. Show details

Just Love It – I went from a push buggy to the X5. I couldn't believe how much fresher I am after the game. It folds down to quite a small size, smaller than the old buggy which is great for putting in the car. It is quite stable, but I did have to buy the umbrella extension. The rain cover (at extra cost) is very good and makes play easier. I certainly wouldn't go back to the old one. Show details
