This globe was honestly so easy to connect to the wifi and set up on your phone using the app. Scanned the barcode on the box, followed the instructions and it connected to the wifi seamlessly. My son wanted this globe for their gaming room for Xmas. We also have the Genio projector and I highly recommend this Mirabella brand that you can purchase from Kmart. Show details

Constantly malfunctions, not responding to controls, regularly and spontaneously disconnecting. An absolutely abysmal product.

there flipping switches for ages to get them into pairing mode. The last straw was when I got a new plan and new router. The router supports 2.4 and it should have been easy I thought. I worked in IT for over 30 years as a system admin, and I ended up spitting the dummy. So essentially I have spent around $120 dollars for LED bulbs. I will never buy anything from Mirabella again.

Follow-up  · I found the only work around was to disable band steering on my router. This means that I have to throttle my Internet connection somewhat to keep the mongrel lightbulbs happy. Mirabella support is non-existent.

Follow-up  · EDIT: I found a bulletproof workaround. If your router allows it, create a new 2.4Ghz network and shift the bulbs onto that. Then you can keep band steering on your normal network as well. My router has the capability of setting up a separate 2.4 GHz Guest network. So there is a solution for some people.

Terrible App, unreliable smart globes with issues – After my 1st purchase, I returned it as non-working for a refund, it just failed to connect. The 2nd one, I got it working after many attempts, but the globe lost brightness intensity and failed after about 14 months. Very conveniently, the manufacture's warranty is only 12 months, which is outrageous considering the high cost of one globe. My… Read more

3rd globe was the last straw to break the camel's back. After 12 months, my current globe started disconnecting and would not re-connect to Wi-Fi, after attempting around 30 tries and I gave up. I chucked it in the bin and have since purchased TP-Link smart globes, that were a breeze to connect in a few minutes, have a 2-year warranty and are about half the price of genio globes.

Monumental waste of money – Bought this thinking it would be nice to have a lamp with colour lighting, set up did not work, could not get any features working . Not worth the money paid, I followed all instructions on app but still did not work, just extremely bright white light Show details

Cheap Product with a Painful Setup – I have been attempting to add this smart lighting into my 2.4 Ghz Wifi. The wifi was fine with another brand with no effort. I gave up and use this smart bulb as a dumb bulb. If you are about to buy these bulbs, please think twice. It is a pain on the neck. . However, I tried to do it again on another account. It failed once again. It took me nearly an hour to add only one light bulb into my smart home ecosystem. Show details

Great Ambience – I bought 2 coloured bulbs for lamps in my lounge. I love the soft colours which give the room great ambience. Not suitable if you want a bright light. Perfect.

#SelfCheck#NoPay – I would never buy those lightbulbs, but when you forget to scan theses light bulbs at the sled checkout it’s actually not a bad deal.

So far this has been great – I was originally after a different brand. They weren't in stock at The Good Guys so, while in Bunnings, I stumbled across the Mirabella version. A double pack for the same price..why not? So I took the plunge. I hadn't read any of these reviews until after the purchase. I did have to reset them to connect them to the app. That was the… Read more

trickiest thing. There's a knack to it which the app explains. Read this carefully unless you want to look totally crazed flicking the light on and off. Make sure it's a 2.4GHz internet connect and it's easy.

They are now connected to the Google Nest Hub network in our home, so we can control the lamps now with voice commands. They dim, change colour, we even have them set to come on in the mornings on certain days.

So far, I'm loving them. Hopefully I will continue to do so.

Works fine – Only bought today but after a frustrating setup...that was caused by me using 5ghz WiFi instead of the 2.4ghz it very clearly tells you to use...it is working perfectly fine. Works great through the app but I've got it hooked up to my google nest hub so it's controllable with voice/alarms etc. Would happily recommend it so far. Show details

Bulk failures after 18-24 months – I had 27 of these bulbs in my house at one point. Worked reasonably for around 2 years at which point their internal circuits began to fail. Very disappointing considering their cost up front and the expected life from an LED globe. Would not recommend this product. Show details

Blinking doesn't blink – I spent 30 mins turning it on off on off on off on with no chance to get it blinking. Who on earth thought of getting a product to require such ridiculously difficult set up? Show details

Why can't I leave minus Star for this product? – Terrible garbage product, unacceptable short life, you will be very lucky if can get more than 6 months out of it. The led downlights are as garbage as the app. Never will put my hands on this brand, and definitely will spread out my experience to anyone. Avoid this terrible overpriced junk. Show details

Very Bad experience with the downlights – Those lights goes with the wifi. Sometimes gets disconnected with wifi. Then starts blinking. Takes time to reconnect. Most for the time, they forget their set up. Show details

Garbage, Particularly for the price – Only compatible with a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi connection, which means you will most likely have to go through the massive pain of changing your WIFI settings. Every time they update the app, it will ask you to re-configure the globe which for some reason is so much harder than the first time I did it. The app is the massive let down, does not load properly… Read more

and has a very poor design. Definitely better coloured globes for a cheaper price. Gets one star because it's more long-lasting than a traditional light globe.

Stupid idea for a lightbulb! – I paid $36 for TWO lightbulbs for my bedside lamps. After downloading the app, it repeatedly failed to link the app with the bulb. I moved next to my router, and still no link. It seems lightbulb is not useable if not linked to the app. This should be an option. All I wanted was a dimmable globe. So returning these to the store. Not impressed. Show details

We love the lights and system, but can't rely on them at all – We have over 20-25 genio bulbs, switches, powerboards and light strips deployed across our house, integrated with Alexa as our main smart home platform. Most of the time, they're fine, its been easy to group them, program schedules and run shortcuts using siri or more complex commands on Alexa. Problem is when they go down, there is no… Read more

notification to users. Its not a service as such, its buy it and hope for the best. There have been times they've broken the integration with AWS for alexa, and the house becomes non responsive (we leave a few non-smart bulbs in key places to work around this, but what a pain). Today they have a server issue they're working on, but no status page or notification you can subscribe to, so we walk around trying to figure out what the issue is, our wifi, an integration or the back end itself. A non IT savvy person would find this a nightmare. For me, I just can see they've rebadged other products but not sunk much into building a reliable service offering.

As you long as you remember you're not buying an actual light, just a partially supported IoT experimental product, you're probably fine. Makes it really really hard to recommend over something more robust.

Terrible product – The setup for this light bulb was extensive and took me about 20 attempts. I use it as a regular light bulb due to it barely ever connecting to my phone app to access the features. One of the worst products I’ve purchased, cannot rate it low enough. Show details

Great multi coloured, dimmable light – Despite all the negative reviews on here about set up, I didn't have any problems at all. I have 3 bulbs all bought on separate occasions from Bunnings. poor quality Internet or operator error. I use the lights every evening and haven't had any problems with them yet (3 month s on). App is easy to use. My main issue now is finding more bulbs of different sizes as not stocked locally.

Brilliant! – I have these globes all through my house and they all work perfectly. I had problems pairing a few of them but I just tried a different fitting and they paired just fine - then I moved them to where I wanted them to live. These are Tuya light bulbs, as are most of the other brands. Pairing and operation is the same across the board. Pair them with the Tuya app and not the Genio app. You can run the Tuya app through Homebridge and Apple Homekit Show details

A One-Trick Pony that can't do its only trick – Buy this and you'll likely feel defrauded: after extensive setup you'll just maybe get a light bulb going (As per Edison in February 1879), but... Just try their next trick, a TV remote controller! (Think, all that work for this /how do I change channels, why'd I buy this instead of a plain stick that works). On second thoughts: Not a One Trick… Read more

Pony, more of a Dancing Bear - the principle being not that the bear dances well, but that in manages to dance at all. Top that off with an (I can't be bothered returning a $15 appliance for a refund - oh yes, I will because the tip charges me $20 to dispose of IT rubbish - and the vague suspicion that this want black box could be snooping on my router's activity.. Save yourself the trouble.

Rubbish. Constantly dropping connection and flashing – When it works it works as expected. There’s nothing amazing about these lights now. They’re commonplace. The app is too basic and no timer settings. This light is the same as several others on the market including the app - it’s obviously sourced from the Chinese open market. Buggy and constantly drops connection to wifi network. It was very… Read more

satisfying to take this light out of the socket and throw it in the bin so hard that it shattered - just like what is happening to Mirabella’s reputation with this very poor decision. Should’ve stuck to local manufacturing guys. Yes less profit margin - but what will your margin be when you disappear? Do the math.

This product works! – I bought 1 light from Coles on Friday, saw how easy it was to install. Just down Load the mirabella app, turn the light on and off until it flickers. I don't really understand why so many people are giving this product a bad review. 3 days… Read more

later I bought 6 lights more from bunnings, it took about 30 minutes to get them all online and working with Google home. This is a really good product!
