this was done in bad faith, and we’re now out of pocket as a result. In difficult times, it’s heartbreaking to see companies taking advantage of hardworking families who are already struggling.

I have used this business many times for home improvements,indoor shutters,outdoors shutters, refresh roof tiles.and they have given me very good products and service on every occasion. I had a slight fault on my outdoor shutters, they inspected them and rectified the problem in the shortest time with no problems. If we could have we would have done this long ago! – We are extremely happy with out new outdoor living area. It has added an extra room (outdoors) to our home where we can entertain and relax. Our new modern blinds keep out the rain and stop the sun from beating in yet giving us good airflow. Show reply

Choose this service at your peril – Appalling management. The men hate women who are smarter than them. So rude and unprofessional. Totally inappropriate. I would advise the wonderful women who work there to take over as management. If you like snarling, belittling , arrogant men I would recommend this Newcastle branch.

No after sales service and they don’t honour the Warranty – Modern Installed several external roller shutters at our property. After three years, the shutters were all rusting. They had a 5-year warranty, but Modern refused to fix the problem — saying that we were too close to the ocean (the house is 2km from the bay and 7km from the ocean). Not happy at all! – Very unhappy, the salesman blatantly lied about how much light would be let in with the blinds to get a sale. We had shutters in the house already that were in his words a “inferior” product and they are 10x better a product than Modern gave us both practically and look. to make numerous calls and emails to chase a better outcome ourselves. Customer service from the management is just horrible. I would not recommend this company to anyone and we will never use them again.

can't stop looking at it – A little while ago we had our roof restored with modern after stupidly going with a cheaper company first and it not lasting 12 months before the paint started coming off..We have now got a beautiful looking roof that we know is gonna last us for our lifetime atleast. and we got what we paid for this time.If only we got it done with modern first we could have saved alot of money Show reply

awesome roller shutter internal instillation – When we decided to install a servery in our kitchen thinking about security of course there was only one choice for us and that was to call Modern group and have a roller shutter installed.After we removed the window and framed it out Modern came in and did the rest. Poor customer service Unfinished job – Salesman John came out provided quote came back and we signed contract. Was contacted by Ian from production a few days later to start roof restoration. That's where the customer service ends . one to replace roof nails ridge capping and seal x 2 then to come back and paint 2 weeks later. 4 weeks pass do not hear from anyone thought may be due to rain there was a delay. Contact the company they will pass details on. Receive a phone call asking to ring again as they are of the understanding work is completed. Ring again make arrangements for Ian from production to come out on either of 2 days . On the 2nd day still No one has come out to inspect job. Ring again and will make another time. Customer service in a phone call to apologise would be good. Now appt set for Ian to inspect job and await outcome So far over $4k wasted on poor work and extremely poor customer service. Will not recommend this company and after also interested in plantation shutters have purchased elsewhere. Will update review if satisfactory outcome UPDATE Ian out today confirmed roof needs fixing will try to sort out this week weather pending . Waiting now to see if fixed to satisfaction

Totally unprofessional – Asked them to give me a quote to repaint the roof of our unit. After they give you a quote and you attempt to accept it and tried to contact them they email stating we under quoted and can't do the job. what a joke

Spectacular fail – I had 4 shutters installed over 2 days. Job could not be completed on first day due to one of the shutters being the wrong size. Schoolboy style measurement error. course in the stoppers. I mentioned the issue to the installer on day 2. He claimed it would be fine. Sunday evening now and closed the 2.8m shutter about 1700hrs. About 2 minutes after closing, the shutter crashed through the stoppers in a very loud manner. I bolted outside to inspect the damage. I now have makeshift lengths of timber holding up the damaged shutter. The crash occurred just 10 days after installation.

Sad thing is, I predicted the fail and was ignored.

Very disappointed given the substantial cost of the shutters. And Modern claim to be the best in the industry. I would put them last. Simply impossible for me to recommend these amateurs to anyone.... 28 May 2018.

Better than expected! – We love our external shutters. Bought mostly with security in mind they are also great for insulation and are brilliant for a great night's sleep with excellent sound and light protection. Wouldn't be without them! I highly recommend this company – I was apprehensive about calling someone to quote me on my old roof. I've heard horror stories about back yard companies ripping off the unsuspected home owner. Great job – We recently had our roof restored and painted by MODERN. I would highly recommend them. You get what you pay for, we got more than we paid for. Great service, great product – I contacted a number of companies to quote me for shutters. Only 2 companies bothered to return my call. Out of the 2 I found the Modern representative to be more knowledgeable and even though they were slighly more expensive i decided to go with them because I felt it was a better quality product. High pressure American marketing!!! This is Australia – Had my roof done at my previous house and have since moved. The contractor who did the job was thorough but the cost charged by Modern roofing was way over the top. Had another quote after the job was done for half the price!!! Rang me asking if I was interested in blinds for my house as it was in a terrific area, it was great exposure blah blah… Read more

blah. The only problem was that I have not lived there for 5 years (need to get their facts straight before they call!)! They then proceeded with the American type marketing and asked if I would like to get a quote for a strictly limited time in my area (even though they thought that I still lived at my old address but now lived in a TOTALLY different suburb - which I thought was ironic, to say in the least!). I was then asked what would be a good day to provide a quote and I informed them that Thursday may be o.k but that they needed to ring me to verify that date.

They then proceeded to ring my wife later and said that the appointment was made by myself and just verifying that it was o.k to come over Thursday. Must have forgotten to call me!!! Not good at all!

My advice is stick to your guns, get a second quote and only give them the number that they have called you on. Original roof coating by contractor good. High pressure (car saleman/American)type of selling!
