over heating and burnt food – After giving the soup maker a good looking at I have found out the problem of over heating which is happening in a lot of cases, the machine does not have any control over how hot the soup gets, it's programmed to run for 10 mins before going into rest mode so if you have just a bit less liquid it will over heat if you put any starchy food in… Read more

first it will stick and burn I have found if I make soup amd put carrots etc in first it seem OK and I have to make sure it filled to the top line it does not like making the smaller amount. Why it would be programmed to run for a set time is beyond me, sometimes the liquid may be warmer if the machine did a couple of spins during this time it would be better, so anyone having problems with cutting out or burning put all none starchy food in first fill to top line with liquid and hope for the best once the food burns the heat can't get through so it will over heat?

Gave it a second chance and it’s just impractical – It constantly cuts out and is frustrating at best. Gave up on one years ago and thought we’d give it a second chance so bought a new one. It’s no better and far from a pleasure to use sadly, cooking should be a pleasure and this removes any of that. Currently looking at other machines Show details

Only used it 4 times – The first 4 soups came out perfectly.. I made one a day with my Morphy Richards Compact soup maker.. I have owned it 4 days.. I have the E1 code when trying to make smooth, chunky or drinks.. it does still blend anything though.. I keep liquid and veg between min and max line.. I have left it an hour empty, cleaned what I think is the sensor… Read more

(little silver thing that sticks out from the lid), I have tried it with just water but still it will not do anything other than beep constantly and loudly at me - unless I want to blend..

How do I reset the soup maker? It can’t be that it won’t heat up because the drinks mode doesn’t work either.. it does blend vegetables.. it just won’t cook soup!!! Very disappointed..

I did take a video of all of this but it is too large to upload - it is one minute long

Morphy Richards soup maker – Makes good soup it has been testing at times because it switches itself off but if you clean the bottom plate and spray it with non stick like canola oil and have the water level right it has not been a problem Show 2 replies

Teething problems but worked it out – Hi all so after using the product a few times now and it's kept cutting I worked out why, i was using hot stock. Do not use hot liquids as this makes the internal thermostat cut out. It tries to get your mix to a boiling point but as you have already added hot water it is getting to hot and cuts out. Try using cold water/ stock and see how you get on. Works a treat now.  Show details ·  1

Not worth the money – The first few times we used it were great. Now it keeps cutting out and also burns food to the bottom. I have followed instructions in the manual but still can’t get it to work like the first few times. Show details

3 of these soup makers have stopped working – Dear team, I am not sure if it was this model I have now got through 3 of these soup makers power cuts out and stops cooking. Not overfilled, same each time works fine for the first few times and then same problem with them all. My mother in law has had to throw hers out with same problem. Such a shame as the soup is lovely when the machine works. Disappointed with the amount of money wasted.

Loved it until it stopped working after 5 uses – Loved using it for the first five times I used it, made great soups for a novice and then stopped working, never overfilled it and unfortunately I lost my receipt and it’s too late to take back, very disappointing and have since found out this a regular fault Show details

Infuriating – This soup maker is the most infuriating appliance I've had the misfortune to use. Starts off perfectly then stops without any reason! It will end up in the bin, it's a waste of space in my kitchen. Alright in theory but in practice, useless.

Not happy – Not happy with this product. All it does is switch off all the time during cooking. It therefore DOES NOT have a cooking time of 21 minutes. And it also can not be used again after 30 minutes of cooling down as stipulated in instructions. I waited hours and ended up putting the jug in the fridge after removing first batch of soup. Will be returning this product under a 30 day guarantee. Thank goodness I can do this.  Show details

Not as good as expected!! – Was very excited about this product initially, to save time and make lovely soup, which it did for a few months, but now it has broken. It just keeps stopping after a couple of minutes and then restarts. Would not recommend or buy again. Try another brand. Show details

Do not buy! – Bought this soup maker and only used it a few times before it blew the electrics in the house. It was still covered under warranty so Amazon sent us a replacement. We used this a few times last year and it worked fine, however I tried to use it today and it keeps switching itself off and then turns itself back on again! Reading the reviews, this seems to be a common fault with this product - DO NOR BUY!!! What a complete waste of money.

Great product but faulty design – Had ours for four years and it was excellent. Then it started tripping the electrical circuit. I tried everything but it appears from the many reports on the internet that this is a common thing, probably a design fault. A real pity as the soups it makes are so good. I've contacted Morphy Richards but had no reply. I wish I could repair it. Have to go back to the old way of making soup... Show details

One of the worst electrical items i've ever bought!! – Don't bother buying one. Bought one before Christmas, brought it home to use and it wouldn't switch on. Took it back to the shop for a replacement. Not working – Ive just tried to make leek and tomato soup. Firstly it just would not work at all. I then reinstalled the rubber ring round the top and it seemed to work. Cuts out – I’ve used the said item about 6 times and just like other reviewers have found it cuts out bleeps intermittently and the screen goes blank. Yes it’ll boil water and you can hear the blade go round. As soon as you add food it stops working properly. Seems to be an issue with this model ??  Show details

Morphy Richards Souomaker – Started my soup (haven't used for months been in cupboard) went to dish it up to find the blade had sheared off, along with bits of the fixing into my soup or should really say veg chunks!! Extremely disappointed unfortunately don't have my receipt anymore. Anyone else had this happen? I think faulty metalwork personally surely it can't be the only one.  Show details

I like it – I have seen some negative reviews but I have to say this machine is good for me. I use this twice a week during winter and have even dropped it a couple of times and it soldiers on. I think some of the negative reviews do not know what they are buying or what to expect, but I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to make a simple vegetable soup.  Show details

Take these simple steps for perfect soup every time **IMPORTANT INFO** – After having a few teething problems with this soup maker, I have found that a few little tweaks will resolve the problem with the machine stopping during cooking and some of the veg sticking to the bottom and burning. Firstly, I pop a little oil over the whole on the bottom of the base (to prevent sticking). Despite what the instructions say, its… Read more ·  2

Same problem as other users unit stops working after couple of minutes – Have tried several way to make unit work, making sure not to overfill, keeps cutting out after couple of minutes into cycle, tried different cycles but to no use waste of ingredients, totally unusable, and total waste of money. Burnt – Same thing has happened to me twice. Even got a new replacement. Same thing has happened. I was making Squash and lime soup that used milk amongst its ingredients but nowhere does it say not to use milk. Surely it should take all ingredients unless otherwise stated. It burnt the base and stopped working. Can't fault Service from Amazon.

Moving when putting it on smooth cycle – I bought this soup maker for a quick way of making soup.Initially it worked well then it vibrated off the work surface and scalded my 14 mth old who was a few feet away from it but he was sprayed from the fallout of the soup going everywhere as the soup maker was hanging by its flex and the lid had fallen on the floor and as my 14 mth old was… Read more

crawling a few feet a way his head and his back and legs was sprayed with the splatter of the hot soup. If the flex had been shorter and would disconnect when it moved further than its length accidents like this wouldn't happen. So my advice to anyone who has bought one of these soup makers be very careful.

Gem of an appliance – I am very impressed with this appliance. It makes soup quickly and I like the fact it saves having to transfer hot liquid to a blender, or use my Bamix, as there is always the danger of accidental splashes with both methods. Yes, it can sometimes have ingredients 'catch' on the base. Putting the liquid in first is the suggested solution: It… Read more

doesn't always prevent it, however, it has never affected the taste of the soup. It hasn't been difficult to clean either, contrary to what others have said here. However, I have used a scourer. I have also made hot chocolate in it with excellent results. It is very useful and convenient. I would definitely recommend it. Quick cooking time. Safe handling of hot liquids when blending them. Flimsy recipe and instruction pamphlet, too few recipes, can have food catch on the base.

Souper! – Had my doubts about this machine, actually bought it for baby food preparation, but now makes soup for family every week. $79 on Appliances online what a bargain. smooth soups. I just add things like stock, herbs, yoghurt, salt and pepper afterwards to add extra taste. Quick and easy. I recently did a chicken and noodle soup, by just adding some cooked BBQ shredded chicken and some 2 minute noodles - the kids loved it. Cheaper alternative to expensive Thermomix or baby food steamer. Sometimes if you don't get the fluid - vegie mix right, bottom can burn. Cant wash in dishwasher.

Fantastic machine – I have had soup maker for two weeks and love it. So far nothing negative to say. Easy to use and clean. Makes life very easy. I just throw everything in go away for 15 mins and voila dinner is ready. So much nicer than can soup and healthier. Highly recommend. Easy to use and clean

So easy with brilliant result! – I cant believe how totally easy this was to use and what a perfect result it gave in only 15 minutes!! You really do only need to throw in all the ingredients and choose either smooth or chunky soup, and hey presto. Perfection. So worth the money! Id recommend it to anyone. Simple to use and to clean Bit expensive, lucky me, I won mine!

Does not work! – I followed the directions for chunky vegetable soup chopping the veggies into small pieces. Maybe my new soup maker is faulty but it stayed on for a few minutes then the lights flashed on the top between the settings. I set the chunky cycle again as the veggies were raw. They stuck to the bottom of the jug and burned. Disaster! Does not do what it… Read more
