Never again – Would never buy this again nor recommend it. Very tempermental. Ingredients must be exact. Have tried to use it 2 days in a row and won't work. Just tried again and won't even turn on. Not even 2 years old. You get what you pay for. Show details

Time saving – I bought this as I love soup and always manage to make far too much. This limits how much you can make. Not ideal for a large family but you can get 4 good size bowls out if this. One thing to mention is that the top of the soup maker is quite heavy so becareful not to drop it. I would recommend for a quick hearty meal. Very good also to use up all the odds and ends you may have in the fridge. Economical in our current society. Show details ·  1

Absolute rubbish design – Has got to be the most idiotic design ever. Who designs a blender with the blade in the lid?? Absolute pain in the backside to attach the lid when filled with ingredients. Don't waste your money on it. Show details

Great appliance – Great..so quick & less clean up if rinsed immediately after finished. Replacement for another brand. Love & prefer the upper blade & jug system. Definitely more complicated & needed to read enclosed instructions thoroughly to remove warm function, which is possibly a good idea although I do not use, so could taste & season then blend to finish. Still makes great smooth soup in one appliance. Show details ·  1

Fantastic for those chilly days when you want hit soup – This soupmaker is so easy to use. The soup tastes wonderful and it's in ready in just over 20 minutes. Very easy to clean and the recipe book is easy to follow. Show details ·  1

The model before this one was much better… – Soup makers are generally a great invention. Just add your ingredients, peel and roughly cut your vegetables, and add diced meat or mince (if you prefer) and these soup makers do the rest by heating and blending. Soup is ready in less than 25 minutes! These are the best things about Morphy Richards soup makers. Now I did have a slightly older… Read more

model which was great until the blades ceased up and refused to turn after around 2 years use, so I replaced that soup maker with the newer “Clarity” model. I was expecting that it would be even better than the non see through model before it, however after using I don’t think it is. It is great that the jug section is clear which allows you to see everything that is going on in the cooking process, however that is the only thing that is better. The jug section does not lift out for easier cleaning like the earlier model. The lid can’t be removed easily with one hand like the earlier model. There are fewer operating buttons than the earlier model. Whilst on blending mode it does not count the seconds like the previous model did. The pouring spout is not covered by the lid like the previous model. The Clarity version also does not make soup very smooth unlike the model before it. The previous model would blend often during the making of the soup, the Clarity model only blends twice during the cooking process, one short blend burst near the start of the process and another short burst towards the end. Instead of the soup being baby food smooth it now comes out rather grainy, much like rice pudding is. It no longer makes food such as peas or corn super smooth in your soup. Also it does not like you lifting the lid to sample the soup as that will stop it from keeping the soup warm! In fact you can’t turn it back on until the soup maker cools down a little. Their older model beeped loud enough when the soup was cooked, however the Clarity soup maker does not do this, (or if it does it’s certainly not loud enough for me to hear in the next room.) Considering how good their older soup maker was this newer clear model is quite disappointing. Morphy Richards definitely have gone backwards with this model. No self clean function only a pre-clean function and the bottom cooking plate is no longer coated with a non stick Teflon substance. The manual states it is not dishwasher safe, that food may burn to the heating plate, but that it’s is easy to clean. I argue that. In fact cleaning cups and bowls is far easier than cleaning this soup maker! Cleaning the blade and lid is awkward and it’s heavy too. The jug is bulky and the heating plate is very difficult to clean especially given that the manual states not to use a metal or steel cleaning pad. I used a rough plastic scrubbing pad (as manual recommended) and it took me a good 20 minutes to get off food stuck to the cooking plate.

I am only giving it 2 stars for the see through section is a really good idea, but apart from that they certainly have not advanced or improved anything else!
