I've been using Movavi for around 6 years to create full length YouTube videos. Unfortunately just recently the frequency of the program shutting down whilst editing has accelerated, twice today in two hours. Sometimes you lose your work too. It… Read more
often happens when an upgrade is released. It's just not good enough, surely you can write software to ask if you want to shut down and upgrade. I'll seriously thinking of changing editor.
Follow-up · Since, there gas been less shutdowns. I'm currently trying to sync audio and it doesn't seem to work. Perhaps it's time to bite the bullet and go DaVinci resolve?
MovAvi, beware the extra hidden costs – MovAvi don't make it known that most extras are additional cost, you find out after you buy the software. I bought the full license MovAvi suite, went to put some simple videos in their video editor, did some cutting and put in some transitions. When I went to export or save the video, it came up with a note that the additions (transitions) had to… Read more
be purchased. Not sure what else they have in this that needs extra cost, not going to find out and waste my time anymore....not impressed. Seems to be good for converting and doing the basics, but I thought what they supplied was complete and I would not have to keep buying bits and pieces (not cheap either for the extras).
Give it a miss, or check exactly what you're getting before buying (if you can work out a way to do that).
Do NOT use Movavi ... scam site – scam company ... $50 for a month??? Paid that without realising it was only one month. Ripoff merchants didn't say that anywhere. When I do go to their site, I get: Website status: Suspicious www.tn-dz.mck1.cloud/d/AxMBAAQAAIAFw--c/r-VU9Bh5lEUcW7wn/ This site looks a little risky to us, so we flagged it just in case. Make sure you trust this site if you choose to proceed. Better safe than sorry!
Good when it works but extremely difficult to maintain audio capture function on Mac – I have been a customer of Movavi for about ten years. The function I require is to be able to record videos viewed on my Mac products. For reasons that confound, Apple does not provide a native application that performs this (or doesn't make it user-intuitive. It provides "Quicktime" which records screen captured video BUT NOT screen captured… Read more
audio of that video: near useless.
So I purchased Movavi which advertises that it DOES capture video with the associated audio.
However, good luck making the Movavi software work. It requires a lot of tinkering including: * sound > Output selection * additional software: - soundgrabber initially, then - rogueamoeba.com "ace" download * the ace product requires modifications to the Mac OS settings: - change to Privacy & Security settings (image attached of that step) - modify access, reboots into security mode - modifying security settings (that are worrying, as who knows what is going on in the background)
Above is the short version, I've spent tens of hours in conversations, emails, webmails, online chats with Movavi and tinkering and rebooting my system to make this software work.
But even then, when it works for a moment in time after once again tinkering with settings, the next time I launch the software, the audio capture fails.
The Movavi website is big on upselling its upgraded products with fancy pop-up windows etc, but it seems they just can't even get on top of the original more basic product, the screen recording product.
I can recommend this software only as a purchase of desperation. If you have better suggestions, I hope to hear of them. I do hope Movavi reads this review and improves its product in response. I've only posted this review because I'm frustrated at the time I've wasted again on the product, and the deteriorating customer service of Movavi accompanied by its focus instead on upselling products rather than getting its existing products reliable.
