Not good – Audio-ologist was a 'Dick-head'. I won't be going back to Ampliphon, Bundaberg. Very Amateur-ish.
Not a very nice company, only care about shareholders and not clients – I'm an audiologist so my review has more meaning than most on here.. I attended with my grandmother one day and Amplifon were unaware I was an audiologist. They would skip testing procedures. One younger girl who worked at the Warwick clinic would regularly not do the proper testing on clients, just to save time. They also pump the worst branded… Read more
hearing aid out there in the market. ReSound. ReSound is well known for poor reliability and is cheaper than most brands. They only care about money, and thus, sell this brand primarily.
In general they appeared rushed, understaffed, pushed poor brands. And in a little research, I found out they are overseas owned with shareholders. Any audiology healthcare company should not be publicily listed with shareholders. If so, you are fool if you think they care about you, the client.
Rubbish, seem to only employ cheap Indian audiologists who can't be understood by hearing impaired – Went to buy new hearing aids in kingaroy office, woman audiologist was Indian and totally indecipherable, she had to write down ' do you need an interpreter?' This company is operating IN Australia supposedly helping deaf AUSTRALIANS , it doesn't seem up to it, just don't go there unless you are Indian.
Tone deaf – I'm not using this mob again. In 2014 I had a hearing test there and was told that with significant hearing loss I needed hearing aids. So I purchased some mid range ones but hardly ever use them. I receive several annual calls reminding me I need another test and twice I've gone along only to be told I have wax in my ears and will need to get it… Read more
cleared and then reschedule. Fair enough. But I really can't be bothered as I'm not struggling with my hearing. I haven't had a test since the first one. With Covid lockdowns I've told them I will not attend only to find an appt was made for me in the current lockdown. I tried to cancel but boy are they persistent. They drive me crazy with their constant çalls.Off to Specsavers next time - hopefully a better service.
Absolutely terrible – Hearing aids no good ..then tried headset for elderly dad omg he dosnt have a mobile you needed to install app..hes nearly 90 not recommend customer service either waste of time
Will Not Leave Me Alone – I made the mistake of having a hearing test through this lot. My hearing was normal. Despite that I keep getting phone calls invting me to have another "free" test. On at least three occasions I have told them I do no want another test. Last week they rang again and I asked them politely not to call me again. Three days later I got yet another call. I wish they would just take the hint and go away.
Battery rip off – Was a customer of National Hearing care who have now changed their name to Amplifon . Difficult to contact as every time you phone , you are placed in a queue , which seems to be the norm these days . The Government advertise " Free hearing aids " for pensioners , but the catch is you have to take out a $47.00 contract for each and every 12… Read more
months that covers the batteries and maintenance . The facts are though , that the batteries are half the price through retail outlets and there is very little ( if any ) maintenance to be done . Its the old adage " No such thing as a free lunch " . I would also like to say the branch i was dealing with had a very " take it or leave it " attitude and was not really interested in anything i had to say and tended to speak over me . I was made to feel they were doing me a BIG favour .
Dont take up free offer – Yes no such thing as a free lunch , in this case a hearing test , told no obligation , that was a lie , the continue harrassment , to both my with and is unbelievable , and unlawful
New hearing device – I have been a customer of their Dee Why centre for some years now, having had the "normal" battery type aids - on my last visit (June 21,) I was advised to purchase the new Phonak M90-R Schell (Ric Only) for both right and left ears. Previously I had the battery type, and with my complaint of Parkinson's. replacing the batteries every 3 days… Read more
was not an easy task. I was advised to purchased on top of the expensive aids the Continuous Care Plan. At the cost of the new aids I would have thought a care plan should have been included. After the initial fittings I have found the Right aid to be very had to fit into my ear, and uncomfortable for a while, the left one goes in like a dream and have had several return visits to correct this - after my last visit I suggested a new mold should be made. During this time I have had 2 different technicians and all in all since my initial visit I have seen 3 different audiologists. At times it has been hard to contact the branch I am dealing with and have had to go through their head office, this I found not an easy thing to do. Appointment times are not kept, I have been tempted to walk out after waiting 48 minutes past my given appointment time. The most convenient thing about the Dee Why Branch is the parking - the reception area could do with some updated magazines to fill in the extended waiting time.
Try somewhere else – Had my hearing aids about 4 years. It wasn't until my second annual review that an audiologist actually looked in my ears! When I fatally damaged one aid I was strongly recommended to replace it with a newer model which I did. Bad mistake. The original pair talked to each other and I could use the optional remote control I purchased to control… Read more
them. Not now. Incompatible but no one told me. Service is just ok. Went to get new batteries today and reception not manned due to all staff doing hearing tests. What a joke! Will probably go to Spec Savers Hearing when I replace these. Much cheaper. NOT recommended.
NO JOY HEAR ! – This Company has been my Provider for 3.1/2 years. In that time I have had 5 appointments at two different branches, with 4 different technicians. Three of these appointments have been satisfactory, with two different Audiologists , and two have been very disappointing. The Company seems to have a high staff turnover at one regional Branch in… Read more
particular. At this Branch I have encountered a different technician at each of 3 occasions. All were of different ethnicity - Sri Lankan (very difficult, could hardly speak English), Chinese (very good), Indian (an air-head very little technical skill, could not even see that one device was not working). Because of the inconsistency of service, it crossed my mind that perhaps the Company partially employs people from overseas working their way around Australia. I have given up on this Provider, and have gone back to using an 11-year-old pair of devices until I am eligible in 18 months time for the government subsidy on a new pair. Needless to say, I won't be going back to this Provider. not even to renew their Maintenance Contract.
