Would give a 0 if possible. Don't get me started on this ridiculous partnership with Amazon so the NBA can move away from managing streaming on TV. I now have to have an Amazon account (very few alternatives) if I want to watch the NBA I paid for via League Pass. I don't want to have to maintain an Amazon account. If you're living in the US, with… Read more
nationally televised games and lockouts, half the games worth watching aren't available. If you live in another country, you pay the same amount but have access to all the games. Seriously, the NBA has gone above and beyond for the small amount of additional revenue to reduce value to customers. It's kind of destroyed my interest in following a sport I've been involved in as a player, a coach, an umpire, and a fan. This season is probably my last as a subscriber and I'll find something else to watch, because watching the NBA is just too expensive for the number of games I actually get to watch - when they're not blocked and locked. Big middle finger to the NBA.
Oh, also every time I log in, the fact that the NBA league pass site doesn't recognize that I have a paid subscription - their software engineers are useless.
It's pretty bad. Still needs to hire engineers to establish some basic streaming service. Their "recaps" are basically a few dunks and a three per half in the space of a minute. For the recaps, I picture a producer saying "yeah, that's a dunk. Use that. Whatever." For the billions of dollars floating around the NBA, they could definitely come up with a better product.
Absolute rip off now that it's on Amazon prime. Last year I had it with YouTube TV and I could watch 90% of the games. This year it's the exact opposite! Just about every game I want to watch is blacked out. It's total nonsense and the NBA should be ashamed of themselves for treating their fans so badly
$25 per month for an app that simply has no excuse being this bad. It constantly freezes, buffs, and needs to be restarted… except for ads of course. They flow with no issues or buffering. Ads when you’re already paying $25 AUD per month for a buggy app is beyond greedy. Not a single game has ever played through without freezing/ buffering / crashing. For the cost, it’s absolutely abysmal. Show details
I love watching my Suns, hate the still frame game breaks, the price and layout of this app. You used to be able to enjoy in arena shows, fan interactions and commercials, that's all gone now, just the black screen, silent, waiting minutes for the game to recommence. Terrible!
Utter garbage. I bought this trash because they claimed it would give me access to NBA basketball. It does NOT.
I have written multiple reviews in hope people understand the level of service you receive and also the misfunctioning service provided. I have asked many, many times for someone at NBA League Pass to answer 'why am I paying full price for a service that only works 30% of the time', to which no one has answered and are now ignoring the question all together. Absolutely the worst customer service and actual service I have experienced!
As per most of the reviews the app is terrible and customer services is even worse. I have requested over 40 times to give me a reasonable refund to which they refuse. They wont even call me to assist. This is by far the worst platform and customer service I have ever experienced. Stay away from the platform.
I would leave zero if I could. I signed up thinking I was going to be able to watch nba live games. Could not watch any live games, it re directed me to sign up for a different tv service which was 70 dollars a month on top of the 16.99 I paid for league pass. Then after I went to cancel it and found a disclaimer that states they don’t give refunds for any reason at all. Needless to say I canceled service and will never sign up again.
PowerPoint – Do not buy it is like a slide show a power point runs smother then this crap
Horrible – Horrible app. I just can’t understand why something powered by Microsoft cannot get this right. I cannot consistently check box scores or stats. Videos somethings disconnect for no reason. Disappointing that nba cannot get this right.
Terrible viewing experience – Insanely laggy, will mess w your tv. Worst app ever. NBA spend some money and fix it!!
NBA app – Worst streaming service I’ve ever used, waste of money and don’t recommend

Do not buy the NBA league pass! – Yet again, this season the app is still terrible. Chromecast dongle and chromecast built into tv is almost constantly 360p quality, and all kinds of other app bugging out issues. I have made complaints directly to NBA in which they just tell me it must be my chromecast etc. It seems these issues are only in Australia and I believe must be related… Read more
to how they run them from local servers. Do not pay the insane amount of money for the league pass. Just get Kayo instead with the less games, but much higher quality.
Appalling! – Absolutely terrible, second year now iv tried with this app. For live games it streams ok, but if you want to watch an old game from previous weeks an onwards it will Not stream efficiently. Drops out constantly, when you try load it up again you have to manually fast forward it to find your spot. It is unwatchable. It’s not worth the amount of… Read more
money they want. It’s the biggest rip off in sports streaming history. If you are just looking for live games then this is for you, but if you want the full experience and to relive old games. This is not the way to go. It’s unwatchable.
A rip off and be prepared for Ads. Great NBA coverage otherwise – Not only does the nba or whoever runs league pass rip Australian customers off in comparison to the cost to watch and other countries. They're greedy enough to make you watch adds prior to and during games absolutely disgusting. Won't be getting next year. My suggestion is dont get it if you're on the fence, won't be watching more than two or… Read more
three games a week, or a casual who watches highlights. There are better options out there, do your research..
Dont pay for this service – 5G, wifi, cannot stream any decent quality. Freezes, the NBA do not care this app is a waaste of money.
The StarGo of sports streaming apps – This app is regularly crashing and forces you to restart streams. Of course this becomes a multi step process as the app usually plays the Spanish language broadcast as the default stream (with no way to set a preference) so you have to start the stream, then start it again in the correct language if you don’t speak Spanish. THEN you have to… Read more
fast forward back to your place in the game because this app lacks the ability to keep your place unlike every other streaming app on the planet. So we’re not talking a one step irritation, it’s more like a 2 minute multi step process every time the app screws up, which is usually multiple times a game.
In previous years the NBA seems to switch developers and for some reason they often change things during the playoffs, often causing spoilers to show even if you have no scores mode on. Have had countless games spoiled by using this app. To the current developer’s credit they haven’t broken the app and added spoilers during this year’s playoffs YET, so I’m going to up my rating to 2/5 instead of 1/5 due to this promising achievement.
Not good enough nba – You pay a ridiculous amount for the entertainment you at least expect it to operate somewhat efficiently… not at all full of bugs, crashes, unability to access some content.
Horrible playback – Constantly dropping in and out. Buggy app. It has become unwatchable this 2023/24 season. Astonishing how such a big corporation can have such a poor product.
Do Not Pay For NBA League Pass – Like many other people (unfortunately) our NBA league pass streaming quality is so incredibly poor it is laughable. I have been a subscriber for numerous years and big fan of NBA, even travelled to LA to watch a game. But, the experience this year (2023/24 season) has left me actually dreading trying to watch a game and now basically hating NBA. … Read more
I have been dealing with "customer support" who repeat the same message that I should update my apps (really? gosh! you mean like all the other apps we have? the ones that automatically update????). I also stream Amazon and Apple TV+ on the same devices and have had ZERO problems whatsoever. Blissful experience by comparison, so it is possible to do this if NBA bothered. But instead, they have refused to refund my subscription, point me to the Subscriber Agreement (so? They don't HAVE to follow that agreement, that is a choice). All this after also being subjected to additional advertising which I imagine helps someone earn even more commercialisation revenue but they have broken their streaming service completely at the same time. Hey NBA: We do not all watch everything on IPHONES! They should say to us before subscribing: "please don't try to watch this on any device bigger than a small iphone screen because we are never going to provide you with a streaming resolution for a bigger device". BTW: That's why it is always pixellated on your TV - the stupid app is resizing the streamed image not getting a better resolution to match the device. Imagine the savings they have made by not providing a proper service. Woohoo for capitalism. I have canceled my automatic renewal on my credit card and will be disputing the last charge with my credit company (probably pointless but NBA is not listening to us).
Not enough servers for Australia – If you like watching half your game in resolution so low you can’t see the ball, this is the product for you (see attached photo). Given how expensive the NBA season pass is, NBA should spend a few more dollars on Akamai servers. UPDATE: I have discovered there is a window of about 36-48 hrs where games are available on local servers in Aust. If… Read more
you watch the game very soon after it is played, then the quality is watchable. UPDATE2: In Europe now and the experience is very different over here - games are high res and silky smooth, you can fast forward through free throws, jump around to any part of the game and there is no change in quality. Clearly it is a server issue, NBA are too cheap to pay Akamai for better service to Australians. BTW, I am watching AFL (Aussie rules) over here too and don’t have any problems. NBA has 100x the resources of the AFL, they can do much better. UPDATE3: OK, so it appears that the issue is with servers for the NBA app on an AppleTV in Australia. I have been casting my laptop to the screen to get around this problem. It would be great if NBA could serve the content for AppleTV from the same servers, so we have access to the library for more than 36 hours. UPDATE4: Well, now a full month after the match I am getting beautiful, silky smooth high detail performance on the Apple TV. Maybe this has something to do with my team (OKC Thunder) sitting first in the Western Conference with the leading MVP candidate demanding lots of eyeballs, or maybe they have upgraded the servers. Whatever the reason, I am upgrading my score from 1 star to 5 stars (except for value - still very expensive in AUD).

videos consistently dont load – you have to refresh the page 5-10 times a game if you rewatch one. baffling how bad the UI is for a billion dollar company
Perfect Internet 4k TV, pay 200+ for premium the game looks like absolute turd – Ethernet cable plugged directly in: 40 Mbps down, 10+ up (see pics). Trying to watch Mavs v Bulls. Pixelated AF , throwing errors, restarted multiple times no difference, can't even see where the basketball is. This is why I got a 4K TV and pay $210 for Premium . Content Removed] NBA. Fix your joke of an app.
Terrible & unwatchable – I've had League Pass in the past and this year it is so terrible. I'm on a solid connection using the desktop version and the stream stutters and buffers every 10-30 seconds and pauses making it extremely frustrating and totally un watchable. In the past you could also change the stream quality and I found that when it was buggy dropping it down… Read more
improved the stream lag, but this feature has been taken away. I've found that the control button bar also gets stuck on the screen, blocking the score and clock which adds to the frustration and terrible experience.
Customer support is no help and they say that "the issue is being investigated with no timeframe on resolution". Don't bother wasting your money, I'll be cancelling my subscription and asking for a refund. Utterly unusable.
Disappointing – I have had NBA league pass for over 10 years, with very few issues. Now everything has changed... Apparently the app is 'new & improved' but it is an absolute mess. Previously i could select between home, away or spanish broadcast, now i have no choice, sometimes the only version is in a foreign language! Customer support is automated or non-existent. Premium? Never again.
So many bugs, I am barely able to watch a single game – So far, I have been completely unable to watch even a single game on NBA League Pass due to bugs and very slow (i.e. unwatchable) streaming speeds. I've tried multiple different devices, multiple different networks, wifi, 5g, everything. And it's not just the streaming quality - there are ALWAYS bugs that prevent you from watching or make the… Read more
service crash. I work in tech businesses, I know bugs happen, and I'd be willing to cut them some slack, except that: 1. It's one of the buggiest products I've ever used and 2. Their customer support is non existent
Really not good enough for a service we pay $159 for for 5 months of the year. I would encourage you to avoid the frustration if you are considering subscribing to NBA League Pass. It's a waste of money.
