Unfortunately the Switch 2 is the worst Nintendo console I have owned. Everything is so cheaply made and designed to extract more money from you. The screen scratches way too easy, no spare usb on the dock, no charging grip included, the transfer process front Swith 1 is genuinely ret#rded, i could go on. But worst of all there are no great gam3s. Bananza is a joke and the hi res upgrades to previous titles are nothing to get excited about

After upgrading a few months back, it's definitely not as exciting as I had hoped.. probably due to lack of game releases that take advantage of it.. but its still a clean upgrade.. everything is much faster now, so I don't regret it in any way... been great for something like Pokemon ZA where you need to shut the game down and reload repeatedly to catch pokemon.. saving a few minutes every time is huge.

The only thing I don't love is the size/layout of the new joycons, and the extra buttons seem unnecessary, but I do like the new magnets because the old joycons were so prone to connection issues and broken sliders... in any case ... I find myself using the Pro 2 Controller instead which is really nice..

If you are thinking of upgrading, just do it, but yeah its definitely not like buying a new gen console.

A solid upgrade over the switch. The stand out feature is the LCD screen with twice the resolution. It makes playing many types of games much nicer as text especially is easier to read and fine detail is clearer. Note though that this applies to switch 2 titles on the LCD. Older switch titles currently don’t harness the resolution bump. In TV mode, the visuals look sharper and run noticeably smoother for switch 2 titles. Playing something like Mario kart world in four player local is a better experience on a large 4K tv as each quadrant is that much sharper.

Being slightly larger, the controllers are also a bit bigger which for anyone older than say 12 makes them easier to hold when undocked.

The cost has gone up a good amount but the old switch came out quite sometime ago so it’s hard to compare.
