Nitecore MH20

Nitecore MH20 Torch – This torch is certainly bright but if you want a torch that is easy to use with its Special Modes such as STROBE, SOS, or LOCATION BEAM. it is a long and involved process that does not easily work. A great disappointment and you are better off with a cheap torch that operates easily.
Nitecore MH20 Review – I bought the nitecore MH20 after my trusty old Led lenser P7 was lost moving (probably accidentally went to the rubbish tip). I had 4 conditions, small, powerful, uses 1x 18650 battery and was rechargeable. Settled on a fenix uc35 or a nitecore MH20 but in the end chose the nitecore due to smaller size, slightly further throw and slightly… Read more
better output.
First impression what the size, this is a 1000 lumen torch but only just over 4in long. Build quailty is top notch and mine came with a nitecore 18650 battery despite the add saying it didn't include one??
First test was a dark park where I could test the range. With a fully charged battery I firstly I tried the lower modes, i was impressed. The medium mode was brighter that my old led lenser p7 (not that the p7 is a powerful light but anyway). Once I powered to turbo mode I was instantly impresses. The range is very good on this light especially when you consider the size. It has a nice large light spill and the center hot spot has a excellent range. On turbo mode (1000 lumen) it handles the heat output from the led well, I was expecting it to get hot quickly but it didn't. The cooling fins, although only small and the heads surface are appear to disapate the heat much better than I expected.
I only use this for a 100 meter range and this light handles that with ease. The light colour is slightly warmer than other led torches I have which I like as it's a little easer on the eye at night.
It has special features like sos, strobe and beacon which wasn't a deal breaker for me but it's important to mention that the fenix uc35 dose not have beacon mode and can not tail stand like the MH20 can.
The charging feature is great, uses a micro usb which almost everyone has so if you lose the original cord it's no big deal. The light flashes when charging and remains illuminated when fully charged. Pretty easy. The rubber dust cover closes tightly over the charge port and sits flat so no accidental opening when removing the torch from you pocket.
If I would have to pick a dislike about this torch it would only be that the flat area with the MH20 logo dosnt line up with the button the top. Other than that tho, for its small size, build quality and light output (with well spaced output modes I should add) it is a excellent torch I'd recommend to anyone.
Nitecore back this torch with a 5 year warranty aswell. 5 stars from me.
