Unprofessional service and dubious pricing of product online – I saw online that NULIGHT had a product in stock and available for $38.49 (an 40W Electronic Ballast for a tubular florescent light), and contacted this company to see if I can pick this item up from their Seven Hill store. contacted them again wasting another 2 days wait for original response, about this unit and then called again, she told me that the online price had changed and if I update my browser the new Price is $59.41 Plus Postage from NZ. I did not bother and went to a lighting place in Brookvale and bought it for $49.99, but while I was there I received a call from Nulight, in which case It was confirmed that the "One in Stock" was not real and if it was they would only sell it for the higher price. The postage price would make it even more expensive than what this Brookvale shop advertised it for.
I am disgusted at the dishonestly for this company to try to sell a product which was either not there, but had a "in stock" label and that the postage price was never disclosed. Also that the price had increase by almost $21 and that was because if they sold that last one to me for $38.49 they would need to order a new one in at the higher price, which is what they wanted to charge me.
I would not recommend doing business with this company as I do not appreciate dishonest/shonky and unprofessional service, such as theirs.
Damaged Light – Light arrived but not in a wodden crate as agreed. As a result light was damaged. Despite CCTV footage being provided supplier instantly blamed me as the customer for notifying 10 days after it arrived as was going into a new build as opposed to 7 days.
Frustrating and unreliable – Ordered some light shades on this website and received a confirmation via email. Two days later received an email stating that they would have to order the shades in and that the supplier had increased their prices so I would have to pay extra. process that the items were not in stock, nor that the prices were liable to change. I also stated it was their responsibility as a retailer to check their supplier costs and advertise correct prices. No defence or explanation was provided other than a reiteration that the item had to be ordered in at the higher price or they could offer me a refund. Refund was promptly received, however, customer service was disappointing and frustrating given they would not actually engage with my complaint.

Glenmore traditional brass light – Didn’t like the finishing, although it is from the inside of the lamp, still reflect little attention to details that is supposed to be practised with such relatively expensive lights.
Be careful – Ordered and paid for a product and postage online. Then several days later I’m informed that they want more money! Really. Refund demanded and received. A week lost on this little project.
WARNING don't buy from them if you think you might want to return – Although the fine print of their website lists that "specially imported items cannot be returned" be warned that this means anything you are buying from them from overseas. They would not accept a return with items still in box after electrician advised light could not be installed. Instead they offered to buy the light back at 50%, which they described as a restocking fee. They are most unhelpful so AVOID
Nice product and works great for our garden – I was having trouble to find the right products for my garden. Nu Lighting helped me all the way through the selection process. I am really happy with the end result.

an item of this size and weight for less than $11, so I asked if I could use my own courier service to pickup and deliver to me.
No response, so I asked again.
The reply came in quickly from someone else who was cc'd on the original quotation email and said:
"Sorry. It is too much hustle. Please check a local lighting shop"
So I replied asking what the hassle would be since I was doing all the work. They just had to have the item ready for the courier to pick up. Unless they actually didn't have stock, of course.
A reply came back from the original contact saying pickup was fine, and then said:
"But there is a small order handling fee of $50."
So I politely declined, apologized for being so much hassle and said I would look elsewhere.
The disappointing thing for me was that their own customer service charter reads as follows:

I hope other people have had a better experience with NuLighting. On this occassion, mine was terrible.
