Ochre Medical Centre Armidale

I have been a customer at this practice for close onto 4 years and I have found a definite decline in being able to get suitable appointments with my chosen GP in a suitable timeframe. Constantly have to try and book with another GP at the practice who one is not really familiar with, and even so their availability has a waiting period too. Additionally, bulk billing is rare at this practice. Even though I am on a pensioner concession card, I do not get bulk billed. No wonder I don’t bother to see a GP when I need to. There is the same level of difficulty when trying to get a suitable appointment for my child, a waiting period because there’s no availability with ones regular GP, and have to book with another GP that ones not familiar with or even like for that matter. The only saving grace here is at least the child appointment is bulk billed - so far. It is no wonder the public health system is being overloaded, because it is almost impossible to get a timely appointment with a GP or get bulk billed by them. Going to the hospital and waiting for hours to see a GP for a non urgent but necessary visit to the GP is ridiculous. Ochre Medical Centre states on their website that although the government has increased the bulk billing payments, it is not enough to cover them and therefore must still charge by not bulk billing. When will it ever be enough for them. Third world health system.
Follow-up · Other payment options if not bulk billed is cash/ debit or credit card. How long is the wait - it depends on if you’re willing to wait to see your regular GP which on average can be 2 weeks, or if you’re ok to see another GP then maybe a week or 10 days, just depends. How quickly do they respond - what do you mean? Usually book an appointment via hot doc.
