Wish I had of read these reviews before purchasing but when you're walking down the aisle at Aldi you tend to impulse buy. We bought our first one of these paper shredders and used it only a few times over the course of 10 months. One day I came to turn it on and it wouldn't power on - looked up whether it could be fixed but it was too hard so… Read more

sent it straight to the tip. Not learning our lesson and thinking that maybe we just got a dud unit, the next time these appeared at Aldi we bought another one. Used it sparingly again and sure enough after about 8 months the exact same thing happened and I took it straight to the tip. These are the biggest piece of junk machines I have ever seen and a complete waste of money. Because of these we now don't buy anything electronic from Aldi.

Cogs Made of Plastic Worn Out Easily – I bought an OfficePro cross cut paper shredder from Aldi over 2 years ago. I used it occasionally under some 20 times before it get jammed. Frustrated and out of curiousity, I open the shredder hoping to fix it. The unit is reasonably well built except the two cogs connected to the motor were made of plastic and one of them has a number of teeth… Read more

ground off on the rim and can no longer run the shredding teeth. It is a pity to dispose it in recycle bin. What a waste of materials, energy in its production and my hard earned money!

Bad Product Office Pro Paper Shredder – Biggest load of crap and a complete waste of money. Bought it from Aldi's, used it twice and now the stupid thing will not go at all. Had an electrician take a look at it and his words were, "Take it to the tip". Why do people sell such crap? Show details

Poor design causes failure – Don't buy this piece of crap. I've had two of these now, the first one was replaced under warranty after it failed. I pulled the first one apart to find out why it failed and found the plastic gearbox housing can't handle the load it is subject to and wears allowing the motor drive gear to come out of mesh and strip. I thought I'll take it easier… Read more

on the second one by shedding only 2 or3 sheets at a time however it failed as well in the same mode as the first one. I haven't pulled it down as yet but I suspect it has done the same as the first one.

Office Pro Shredder - A Piece of Junk – We only shred one or two sheets of paper at a time and never put more than 3 sheets of paper at a time through. We have never shredded any CDs and never run the unit for more than about one minute at a time. The unit is constantly jamming and now smells like is is burning. When it starts to jam up, running in reverse just jams it more. We should have taken it back for a refund when we first bought it.

Perfect for my use! – I run a vermi-compost bin (composting food scraps with red wiggler worms that require 'bedding', aka 'layers of paper/cardboard shreds') to live in. My previous Aldi paper-shredder could not handle cardboard, and I was forever having to pick out compacted paper shreds with my tweezers. With the OFFICE PRO, however, ($59 from Aldi, early 2022)… Read more ·  2

To my delight (and surprise!) I have had no problems shredding even the thicker packing-box cardboard that the worms prefer as bedding! I AbSoLuTeLy LoVe my OFFICE PRO SHREDDER! I, too, have had it where paper shreds come out as strips rather than shreds because the paper seems too thin but - like I said - for cardboard this unit has been tremendous. I've been using the Office Pro shredder almost daily - 5 minutes at a time - for the past few months and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for those wanting to shred cardboard!

Office Pro Cross Cut Paper Shredder – Bought this at Aldi about six weeks ago, paid $59. Used it twice. Third time use, shredder jammed up, not even close to the ten pages as stated it was capable of. The jam obviously bent something in the gears/cogs as after I completely cleared the jam, would only take a couple of pages and made a horrible noise. Jammed up again and again with only… Read more

a couple of pages. Complete waste of money. Threw it straight in the bin. Was that annoyed with Aldi didn't even bother to return for a refund under warranty

Needs Oiling – I initially had a lot of trouble with this thing , but found the trick with this shredder is to oil it - No mention whatsoever about oiling in the instructions, but many cross cur shredders DO need oiling. The cut size is quite small , so it's more prone to clogging than some others. The oiling prevents this. I used the oil between 2 pieces of… Read more

paper method , once every 1-2 full Bins.

have shredded several boxes of paper since.

If you can hear it is starting to clog a bit. hit reverse for 1second . then run a single peice of paper through in forwards and it will clear up, then can continue as normal.

You can buy shredder oil at office works, good guys ETC . Fellows sell it in a convenient bottle. but it is just Canola oil.

plenty of youtube vids on oiling shredders. NEVER use spray and/or hydrocarbon based oils

Did not shred one piece of paper – It nice looking unit however poor manufacturing of its components prevented it from shredding any paper. The plastic molding contained parts that blocked the paper pathway thru the shredding gears. The paper detection system also failed as it was too stiff to trigger the unit to run correctly. Show details

Garbage product – I purchased this at ALDI two months ago you can only shred 4-5 sheets before it overheats. Don't waste your money I would give it less if I could. I'm a pensioner so this was a little product I thought would be useful bu I should have just burned my money Show details

Exploded – Bought it from Aldi. Used it three times. It kept getting paper jammed even though I onky put in the max ten sheets. I had it unblocked, plugged it in, turned it on. It actually exploded. The paper collector blew apart and the top came off the bottom frame. So lucky that no one was hurt. Show details

Jams but is fixable – We bought this from Aldi in Feb I would guess. I didn't set it up for ages. Used it a few times and it jammed. I picked out the bits forever - days. My husband caught what I was doing, he took it apart, removed the paper and it's working well now. Those of you who had a jam - after you clear it, run a thicker paper through it, like a cereal box. it helps to clear it. Show details

Not good – I bought a cross cut shredder froM ALDI, late 2019. It has a CD SHREDDER AS attachment. The paper shredder just minces the paper and jams up very quickly. Shame. Show details

Terrible paper shredder from Aldi – Used one time to shred a small amount of paper. Tried to use it again. Nothing but noise. Did not shred anything again. A complete waste of money. Aldi doesn't do itself any favours selling such rubbish. The previous shredder from Officeworks lasted 11 years and was passed on to someone else to use. Show details

Rubbish – The shredder jammed with paper. This is a shredder for goodness sake. That is simply shocking design. I spent about 2 hours clearing it. After that one side only worked for a while, then not. It sounded like the thing might explode and I was concerned. Every item of electrical equipment I buy from Aldi fails. Never again will i buy any thing electrical from Aldi.

Absolute junk! Complete waste of money – I purchased this a few months ago but only used it for first time today. Jammed after 1/2 hour of use. Only fed 4 sheets at a time through. Cannot fix, spent ages trying to pull out the tiny pieces of jammed paper to no avail. Absolute waste of money. Very disappointed Aldi, this product is disgraceful. Show details

Wasted of money – I purchased this from aldi for $49 and can claim it is a piece of junk. Only had 3 uses and the paper got jammed and could not get it fixed. It is a disposable junk and nothing more.. . Show details

waste of $20 – Bought from Aldi for $20. After a few uses started regularly jamming even thought never feeding more than 2 - 3 thicknesses of standard paper through (their claimed maximum is 6). Recommended procedure of operating in reverse does not usually fix the jam. The paper strips tend to compact in the shredder and refuse to budge. It is VERY fiddly trying to remove them. I give up, will have to buy something decent. Show details

In a FLASH – I ordered a Paper Shredder from Kogan and received it within 3 days which blew me out of the water because I have never had anything delivered the quick before. The unit does a lot more than I expected, it has a covered CD shredder for personal protection and a lot of other options perfect for the home office. Just fantastic service and Delivery, what more can you ask for.

Paper shredder for home use – Paper shredding of identifiable documents is a necessity at home as you do not want your documents to provide anybody else with your private details. A good paper shredder resolves the problem but it needs to be a cross cut unit and capable of shredding at least 4 sheets at a time. We surveyed the market and found the best units were too… Read more

expensive for occasional home use ($300 minimum) so settled on a popular local shop machine. It regularly jams requiring a total dismantle to clean the stoppage, it only runs for a few minutes before it overheats and needs to cool down. I have pulled it apart many times to clear stoppages and have come to the conclusion that an expensive unit is the only way to go if you do a lot of shredding. I have no answer for a reliable inexpensive machine but if anybody does I would love to read about it. Cheap is cheap and I will keep this unit going despite the dramas of regular stoppages due to jamming.

Not up to expectation – Happy with the cutting performance with paper and credit cards. haven't tried CD's yet. My problem is the first time I used it on auto it cut off as it should do. That was the one and only time. Don't know why it won't work on auto???? It has a streamlined look and is aesthetically pleasing. looks good, cuts paper for my needs, economical price The automatic function is non existent

No good to buy – I bought a paper shredder in ALDI store few weeks ago. Just cut 3 times (each time with 4 sheets of paper), the machine was stuck with paper caught in the cutter. But on the box it says"cut 5 sheet each time. It wasn't even reach the maxi level yet. The Price cheap and looks good Doesn't match the cover describes.
