Omlet Geo Bird Cage

The flimsy plastic tabs that join the base to the cage broke. Contacted omlet to enquire about replacement parts. Was told the part was available, but only via international express post. Postage was 10x the price of actual item. Ended up throwing the bird cage away.

EASY cleaning, looks great = happy budgie – We are very happy with the cage, most importantly, so is our budgie. As for other reviews RE: cleaning. Dont stress, It's EXTREMELY easy. You only have to lift the cage a few millimetres off it's base & slide it onto a table. (If you purchase the short base, it may be an issue) There's absolutely NO risk of your bird escaping & takes a maximum of 5 minutes to clean. Don't buy the sheets for the bottom of the cage. Just get some thin, firm plastic, like corflute & use an existing sheet as a template, then simply wash & re-use, (or use sand) The cage is expensive but it was our choice to pay that price. Don't be scared off by negative cleaning reviews, it's so easy even my husband is cleaning it... My one & only negative is the company did not return any of my calls or email until after I had received the cage.
Purchased in for $340.
Very disappointed after 18 months – I reviewed the Geo bird cage on the retailer's website after a short time (as many others did and gave a favourable opinion), however, after 18 months, I am forced to change my opinion. This cage has a very unusual design in that it forms a globe shape by clipping together a number of geometric pieces using circular clips which are plastic on the outside and metal on the inside. Assembly was very difficult as when one piece was secured another would come undone. It also has a unique feeding system which on the face of it seems a good idea. When new, it looks beautiful but unfortunately it falls down badly when it comes to ease of cleaning and other functional issues. The cage cannot be cleaned properly without lifting the top off the base, with risk of birds escaping. The seed dispenser stops dispensing when the level is about one third; the water dispenser has crevices which are extremely difficult to clean; the husk catcher bowl cannot be removed through the door and, as water splashes into it, the debris sticks making cleaning a chore; the joining clips, particularly those at the lowest level, trap debris and are impossible to clean without dismantling the cage; the metal inside discs of the joining clips are rusting badly as well as areas of the bars where the plastic coating has peeled off. The unusual shape of the base requires the purchase of special lining papers to line properly, which cost $1.10 each. The cage itself costs $199. We have since acquired one which is spacious, easy to clean and can be perfectly lined with newspaper, for a quarter of the price. It has no potential for rust anywhere, either. I really regret this purchase.
