CONTAINS METABISULPHITE , heart out of sink often, headaches for months, in a capsule for who knows why, i would have thought i was JUST vitamin D. BECAUSE SICK OF GETTING ADDITIVES I DON'T WANT. We need to read every think and some don't even put addictive on labels.. junk. They dont care cause is a about Money .
Beware of Side Effects if taking other medicines – I am a 70+ person and thought from their TV Advertising that they would be beneficial to my aging body, unfortunately, I was totally wrong. Within a very short time after starting to take them I became extremely thirsty and started to frequently urinate, I also started to become extremely tired and lacked energy also people around me noticed that… Read more
I seemed a little confused because I wasn't sure about general things in my daily schedule, I also started to feel pain as if I was suffering arthritis, I would not promote these tablets to anyone unless they were aware of the Side Effects before using them, I found them a total waste of money.
Ostelin Vitamin D – I began taking this product as recommended by my healthcare professionals, while pregnant. I don't have any long term health issues and did not experience any side effects. But after several blood tests it was evident my vitamin D does substantially decrease throughout the year. I didn't exactly notice a difference, it must have been incremental.… Read more
But this product has since stabilised my vitamin D levels and has generally increased absorption of other vitamins as per recent test results. No other changes were made to my diet or lifestyle.
Ostelin vitamin d3 syrup suitable for vegetarians – Syrup does not contain gelatin just confirmed with the osteline. Only capsule contain gelatin and syrup works the same as capsule. So take syrup instead capsule which contains gelatin and not suitable for vegetarians.
The word Ostelin is printed on every gel capsule! – If you're not happy ingesting ink, then don't buy this product. Because the container is not opaque you cannot see the printed capsules before you buy them, and if you're at Chemist Warehouse, they will never allow you to exchange them for a safer brand. Shocked! Not suitable for vegetarian contain gelatine – I am vegetarian so cannot contain gelatine. All these Ostelin Capsules does contain gelatine and its confirmed by their healthline number 1300 193 008. I asked them to put note on their product label.
Gives what it says – I’m not an avid user of vitamins, prefer the natural stuff and from fruits/veggies etc but my body just doesn’t seem to convert it efficiently as despite lots of sun, my blood tests always come back very low. So I take this everyday 1 or 2 for around a week or two and I take plenty of breaks from it, in lots of places it says not to take if you… Read more
don’t need it as it can cause issues overtime.
During my recent low test, I took 2 for 2 weeks and had a test a month later and my test came back as 60 which from memory is good enough. I’m usually around 20-30.
Great product – I was extremely low in vitamin D due to being a sun avoider and working indoors, my doctor told me to take 1000iu vitamin D. Taking the product now for for at least 5 years now, I never had any side effects from it and I also noticed that I don't get as sick as I used to get before I took the product . I work in a supermarket and every body… Read more

something i will not recommend to anyone! – i was prescribed with this and never been good to me. I had a bad feeling of puking every-time i take it. also had to be feeling sick with ointments to keep me relaxed. I always get diarrhoea after taking it. One pill is enough to keep me bloated and feeling sick the whole day. I stopped consuming it and started drinking goat milk which is a better substitute for this supplement.
Ostelin DK2 - issues with reflux – I have been taking Ostelin calcium tablets for about a year to shore up my calcium reserves due to a cancer med I am taking. No problems whatsoever but the type I was taken changed late last year so I started with the Ostelin DK2 - the reflux I have been experiencing since has been severe and reached the point where I could barely swallow. I… Read more
changed to a different Ostelin calcium tablet and all the symptoms dissipated over a few days. I recently tried again and took the tablets for 2 days with the same result. I am not sure if it is the soy ingredient or some other issue but be wary when trying these if you suffer from reflux.
Not Suitable for Vegetarians – I thought these were vegetarian as they stated where the Vitamin D came from on the bottle. I opened the container and found that these are gel capsules and doing some research have found these are only made with gelatin. I've wasted my money, there is no label on the product that mentions gel or gelatine.
Not suitable for vegetarians – Bottle label makes an effort to list what it does not contain but there is no mention of it containing gelatin or being "gel" capsules. Unfortunately only looked up website after spending $25 on the bottle and found that it contains halal gelatin, which is still gelatin and unable to be consumed by vegans and several religions. Very upset as the… Read more
chemist will not take back vitamins. Product label should disclose wherever it contains gelatin or not.

Actually works – For years, I was skeptical about taking vitamins for various reasons. I'm not a vegan, so the gelatine thing doesn't bother me personally, though they should put every single ingredient on the labeling. I have issues with Soy so it would have been nice to see that on the labeling, too. However, it must be a very minimal amount because it… Read more
doesn't affect me at all, as far as I've noticed.
My Vitamin D levels were down about halfway PAST the minimum requirement. After taking the Ostelin Vitamin D supplement at 2 (1000IU) pills daily for about three weeks, I went for another blood test and it showed that my Vit-D levels were a lot higher than before, well within the normal, accepted range. So it actually works, and since I've had no noticeable side-effects (here's hoping there aren't invisible side-effects lol), I'm going to keep taking them. :)
Gelatine not included in ingredients list – I just purchased Ostelin Vitamin D capsules from Safeway. Upon opening the container I have found that it is a gelatine capsule. I am a vegan so do not consume gelatine. This is not stated on the label. I am unable to obtain a refund as I have opened the container. I suffer from a chronic illness and certainly can't afford to throw money… Read more
