MDF. But anything above about 12mm and you will be cursing yourself for ever buying this. If it doesn't cope with softwood, it would have no chance with hardwoods either.

There is no resale value either, because as soon as customers realise how useless it is for typical woodworking, they will not buy it.

Save your money and buy a more respected brand with a larger motor.
