Bought this little multi-tool in October 2016 to attack the overgrown "garden" at my coast house in Malua Bay NSW. As per the other reviews, it does it's job very well. The things you'd worry about (battery life between charges, can it cut? and longevity) have just not been an issue. It is fairly heavy with the weight at the cutting end, but any… Read more

other configuration (eg motor in the handle with a drive up the tube) just couldn't work. The head end is a heavy plastic that holds up well, even when dropped. The motor and gearbox is metal. The drive coupling is a heavy splined shaft. I am tall and dont really have a problem with the balance but if you are cutting all day it could be difficult. Keep the extendable bar as short as possible given the height of cut. I find angling the chain bar down gives me more control over the cut, and using the jaws helps gain leverage, similar to a conventional chainsaw. The hedge trimmer is a ripper too, especially for overgrown hedges. Anything up to about 10mm (green) is fine and being able to adjust the head to (almost) 90 degrees means I can hack away at the top of a hedge at about 3 meters off the ground! And given the long reach, I can trim a very wide hedge as long as I can get level with the surface. I have used the whole tool regularly both at the coast house and at home for many years, and it really hasn't had any problem. Both attachments are very easy to dismantle for cleaning (even in the field) so you dont have to stop for long if either gets clogged etc. And for the chainsaw there's no tools required to dismantle/clean or adjust the chain tension. I bought it with a battery and charger. I also now have an impact wrench which easily loosens car wheel nuts (no, I dont use it for final tightening. It could easily break a stud on the high setting). It also makes short work of jacking the car up! I also bought a blower which uses two 4ah batteries, so I bought a second battery. I have to say, I dont feel the "quality" of the wrench and the blower are up to the same standard as the chainsaw/pole trimmer.

So easy to use! – I love how easy it is to use. Great value for money and could use the battery pack I have from another patio device. Only issue is I had to go back to Bunnings to buy chain oil - it would have been helpful to have a small one time use for first time rather than having to go all the way back to shop another day. Show details

Great little saw and hedge clipper add on – Ive used my pole chain saw and hedge clipper attachment (bought separately) for a few years. Operation is fairly simple. Read instructions if not familiar with chain saws. Wear a hard hat, gloves, steel capped boots. Protective goggles. I used a 4Ah battery. The chain Saw. Take your time and let it do it's job especially on dry wood. Keep… Read more

the stop against the branch to avoid chattering. Works best on green wood. Don't force it. Keep the chute clear. Plan where the falling timber will go. Keep the chain clean and as sharp as new. Check chain oil is adequate. Don't stow away dirty or wet with sap. It will rust. It's not a toy.

To avoid back strain hold the pole upright and tilt the chain to rest on top of the branch if possible using its weight to progress the cut. Move away to clear the fell. Think it through. Larger ~15cm branches can be cut from from both sides. The saw can be used to clean up fallen branches as long as you avoid touching the ground with the chain!!! They dull instantly. I've used mine for a few years and it's still very sharp. A handy tool to have alongside a bigger chainsaw.

The hedge clipper attachment is very good but like the chainsaw the motor is a the end of the pole so leverage is an issue. Avoid back strain by keeping the pole as short as possible. Use near upright while cutting higher brush sides. Move your feet rather than swing it too far down when extended. It is good for cutting long grass too. Use a spray on lubricant rust inhibitor before and after use. It's one of a suite of tools I use.

Leaks Oil -in use or not in use = – easy to start. used on small branches 2 -3 cm. Aside from leaking oil , the problem is a chain saw which becomes loose after adjustment locking and brief use .innovative design. Show details

DID A GOOD JOB – Used it on several pine tree branches that needed removing. I was surprised how powerful it was for a small battery powered tool. Like others have written it lacks balance and hard to hold up if you are elderly. I like how easy it was to adjust chain saw tension compared with my petrol driven chain saw. Tried unsuccessfully to find another chain… Read more

from B*****GS but ended up buying one on eBay for $19.00 with free postage. Lent mine to a relative and he ended up buying one as well.

Did a great job – Easy to put together, but remember you will need to buy some chain oil as well as cannot run the machine without this. Is heavy, but most of the pole pruners are, cuts very well. Does collect smaller branches in the chain mechanism and will need clearing out periodically when cutting Show details

Cuts OK But – For the money, the unit cuts ok. It`s not as well made as say Ryobi or other far better and more expensive non Chinese makers. As with other cheaper machines, no money has been spent on the actual design. The saw is totally unbalanced with the cutting head way too heavy for easy use. If extended the thing sways around making it unwieldy, some… Read more

might say dangerous to use. If you can afford the cash I would go for a properly designed European/ USA made machine. This machine does work but like all Bunnings bottom end Chinese items you get exactly what you pay for. My purchase price includes battery and charger

Great for the occasional use – We have some very large neighbouring trees that push against our fence. Being the habitually lazy individual I decided to trim these instead of contacting the landlords of the neighbouring houses. This unit absolutely nailed it. Cut through everything that was required and more. The power is adequate as long as you are not a knob. The hedger also… Read more

worked a treat.

Only thing that I noticed is the much smaller and less physically capable neighbours were not able to wield the weight of the unit, especially when fully extended.

It is adequate for occasional use as the ergonomics are not ideal, you would realky feel it if you were to attack an entire garden with it. I happen to have quite a few batteries, however I only used 1x 3ah to do everything and the chain was incredibly sharp. I assume this would change the dynamic significantly as the chain dulls.

Quality is adequate for diy use, again it is not advertised as a professional. All in all I am incredibly happy with the unit.

Careful...one battery doesn't power the range! – I purchased this specific product as I already have two (2) Ozito cordless products that were purchased this year, and as Ozito publicises the fact that "one battery powers the range", I thought it prudent to use the 18V battery and charger that I already have. Problem is......I'm supposed to know that as the other two (2) Ozito cordless… Read more

products that I purchased this year have (a hedge trimmer and a grass trimmer) have grey coloured handles, and that the pole pruner purchased today has a red coloured handle, that the battery combo that I already have does NOT power the range!!

The Retailer (Buxxxxgs) from whom I purchased all three (3) products told me that Ozito was bought out by a German company, who then changed the battery configuration and branding to "Power XChange".....hence the incompatibility between the grey and red highlighted products.

And consumers are supposed to know all that?

I think not!

So while it just cost me and extra $69 for compatible battery and charger so that I can use the pole pruner, I'm not finished with Ozito who in my opinion has been deceptively advertising its "one battery powers the range" feature.

Effective, but too awkward to use – I bought the pole trimmer as I have a lot of hedges to maintain. However the placement of the operating controls on the ozito pole hedge trimmer make it just too difficult and heavy to use. Will be selling it to get a smaller less awkward version. Show details

Good if you are a handyman – Purchased this pruner to trim some overgrown Australian native shrubs. I was disappointed with the cut as it hacked at the branches instead of giving a nice clean cut. The branches were no bigger than 75mm thick. Extension pole was handy as it meant you could reach up high although this made it awkward to use. This is not a criticism of this Ozito… Read more

pruner as all brands are probably the same. I would have been better off saving my money on the purchase and getting a tree specialist to come out and do the job. Probably won't ever use the pruner again.

cut away up high – Purchased this 18 volt pole pruner for a few big jobs i had around the place and was very impressed with just how powerful it is and how well it does the job i want. Although a bit top heavy it does extend up some 3 mts and has a motor and chain on the end that cuts through some 80 mil think branches with ease. Angle of the cutting blade can be… Read more

varied and the 18 volt battery gives ample power and last a long time between charges. Chain is self lubed and easy to tension. All in all a great bit of kit at an affordable price.
