3 Year Warranty – Fortunately this Ozito Belt Sander BSR-7000 comes with a 3 year warranty as after 2 sanding belts worth of course sanding, the 'Belt Tensioning Lever' failed. Upon returning to Bunnings I received a new replacement. I based my purchase on the type and amount of my timber projects. Plus I had remaining 75x533mm sanding belts at home. While this product is basic, e.g. no variable speed setting I did not require all the bells and whistles of operation. Belt Fitting was required on the first Ozito, yet the replacement Ozito sander it was not required as it ran beautifully. Cleaning is a must during and after usage... Best not to over heat this tool...

My initial thoughts were to purchase the (5* rated) Makita 9924DB, however upon feeling the weight I changed my mind.

[+] 3 Year Warranty Light weight Carbon Brushes are easy to DIY

[-] Belt fitting can be exasperating! Belt Tensioning Level is incredibly harder to shift in comparison to other belt sanders I've used.

It wears out very quickly, please buy a good Sander – Please spend more on a worthwhile sander as it will save you so many hours. The tracking is off and it needed to be rechecked and realigned so many times that I have lost count. I used it for the last part of a deck resurfacing after I returned a borrowed sander and persisted with it whilst chewing through sanding belts . I wish that I had returned it back then as I have brought it out of hiding today for a small job =it is rubbish.

Purchased in for $69.

Don’t buy it! – I bought this BSR-7000 to strip my deck back to bare timber. It worked great out of the box with 40 grit for about an hour. It soon started clogging up with dust. The inside of the belt & the wheels were caked in dust which caused it to vibrate & sand uneven & then the belt started sticking to the rubber wheel. If you could attach a dust extractor it might work ok. I’d recommend only using this on small raw timber jobs with a finer grit belt. I’m off to buy a better quality one now.

Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse.

The second time I attempted to empty the dust bag the zipper snapped off & fell apart in my hand. It’s going back to Bunnings.

Reasonable Tool – Ozito BSR-7000 belt sander is acceptable for moderate sanding job of my wooden deck. This is the only reason I bought a belt sander. I initially bought a cheap XU1 belt sander. It failed miserably. And I returned within 2 hours of sanding. This model is acceptable for wooden deck sanding job, and the dust extraction is working except that I cannot take the dust bag off for washing. There is one issue though; the paint dust vulcaniized like rubber under friction and stuck to the bottom plate and the driver roller.

I am happy with it, and would have been happier if it were had been priced 15-20% cheaper.
