Rarara – Should have put your pad on it instead would had stuck easier like it does to you when needed Show details
Buffer – It Blew up in 5minites smoke pouring out didnt even do half a bonnet no guts at all just junk better of doing it by hand does better job evern pads are rubbish
Lack of engineering – The pads will always either fly off or get entangled in the mechanism. Definitely not recommended to rejuvenate paint, would only recommend to use on paint that's already well maintained. Show details
Useless – The machine itself is perfectly fine, however, it has one Achilles heel that makes it utterly useless - it has a big foam pad that you need to wrap your polishing pads around and tie off with string. The string stretches and moves...the pads fall off. If the knot comes undone, the pads fall off. If you didn't tie it tight enough, the pads fall… Read more
off. In my case the knot came undone, the string came out of the pad. Had to re-thread it. Painful!!
The other bit which is interesting is that the tied off string, when spinning, hits the power cord unless your holding the cord out of the way. Its a terrible unsafe design.
First time using it and after the pad falling off for the third time mine is now in the wheelie bin. Total waste of money.
Do not buy. Even under its own weight it slows to a third of the speed, bonnets fly off – I thought how bad could it be. I was desperate for a polisher and other stores were closed so I bought this from Bunnings. Here is what went wrong immediately: The unit slowed right down as soon as I placed it on the surface I was polishing. To make it spin at anything close to an effective polishing speed I had to lift it so it was no longer in… Read more
contact.
After a minute the motor began to groan like something was loose in it.
After five minutes the bonnet string broke and the bonnet flew off. I tried using the polishing bonnet to wipe away the polish and that broke even sooner.
I had to use a rag to wipe away the rest of the dried polish. On close inspection the surface I was polishing had not changed much at all.
To say I am disappointed is putting it mildly. I plan to return it to Bunnings in the morning.
Don't waste your money – Easier to do this by hand which is what I eventually resorted to. The pads keep flying off and when they don't, the machine will stall under even the slightest pressure with buffing compound. Maybe usable for a liquid polish but I still think you will end up doing it by hand or buying something else. I can not, NOT recommend this product more.
Save your pennies for a better unit – It's taken me about two hours to polish half a bonnet so far. This is due to the pads flying off the machine no matter how well I tie them on. Once they fly off the draw string flys out of the pad as well so then you have to tediously thread it back through the pad and start all over again. Once I actually managed to get it working I found it… Read more
did an ok job for a light polish. Didn't cut the mustard with scratches or oxidisation though so it's useless as a buffer.
The unit vibrates quite severely and hurt my wrists after a while.
Edit: I returned this product to Bunnings for a full refund. I have since replaced it with the Dual Action polisher (Performance Plus Multi-function Polisher) from Autobarn which I am very happy with. Super Cheap Auto sell a Rockwell branded one the same for under $100.
ozito buffer/polisher – Ive had one of these polishers for nearly 12mnths now and its a great little unit. u have to be careful which type of polish u use with it but other than that its great. i have polished a fair few cars with bad paint fade and used kitten cut and polish in the black bottle and it does a really good job. everyones experience will be different and… Read more
remember if u want a spot on workshop finish go and buy a polisher that u would expect to see at a panel shop. reliable, inexpensive and easy to use especially for beginners not real good with proper cutting creams that a panel shop would use
Very disappointed – I expected more from an Ozito product. The buffer bonnet is too thin, and clogs up with cutting compound too easily, better results were achieved by hand in less time. The appliance is for light polishing on very good paintwork and should not be advertised as a buffer polisher, a buffer it certainly is not. Reliable. Unable to efficiently perform the task as advertised and made for.
Don’t bother – It was quicker doing it by hand, i think you need to be polishing a van with immaculate paint work for this polisher to work, don’t waste your time 3 year warranty pad kept coming off, only good for light polishing???
