Disappointed – Very disappointing product to say the least Very weak under load
Unfairly maligned unit. PXAGS-500 115mm brushed Ozito PXC cordless angle grinder – Firstly, everyone complaining about it cutting out is undoubtedly using thick grinding discs to cut metal. This unit requires wafer thin discs to do it. You need safety glasses, gloves and do up your top shirt button if you haven’t a face shield, those thin discs are prone to break. People are expecting mains powered performance from cordless. The… Read more · 2
trick is to change your approach to be more gentle not force the cut, then it truly cuts like butter. The person that got injured from it cutting out probably wasn’t holding it with both hands:- the other point is never put it down blade up until the blade stops spinning. Yes, the weak point of this unit is the brushes. I have used two of these units. Currently working out how to sourcd replacement carbon brushes. Overall a good unit- safer than the brushless 125mm big brother. 4/5 points.
Extremely disappointed in this item! – Ozito has dropped the ball on this item!! (Battery operated angle grinder) extremely underpowered & shuts off when under just a little load, Ozito do a recall immediately & upgrade before you lose or your customers. Please test your items before releasing to the public! (Purchased in a package deal) Show details
Not worth it – Just bought one today at bunnings after just one use then the gear box got stuck and wont work anymore. Return it back at Bunnings and the staff also confirm it too. Never in my life bought a power tools that fail like this. Show details
Reasonable price and it does the job – I used the brushless model to cut the Hills Heritage hoist. It cut through easily and did the job at a reasonable price and has 5 years replacement warranty. I have and used Milwaukee tools. But, I realise Ozito grinder is a good tool to have. One thing, you need to have two batteries to work with the grinder. Show details
This item is okay – In general I love the Ozito PXC range. Sadly this is the only item I dislike from Ozito, the grinder seems to lack power and is constantly turning off (safety feature). I use this grinder from time to time, but when I have a power point, I would always reach for a Corded grinder. I guess If I have no access to a power point, it's better then nothing.... Show details
Not Reliable – I have owned 2 of these and they have both died.Lost receipts so cant claim warranty. On pulling apart the brush setup is what causes them to fail. I would not buy another brushed ozito grinder. Show details
Probably one of the most useful tools in my shed – I purchased the model before the X Change, brand new on eBay, but operates on the same 18V batteries and was extremely surprised at the usefulness of this little gem. It came, as they do, without a battery, but Bunnings had a special price on 2 18v 3Ah batteries and a charger, so I bought the kit. Firstly, I was aware that I'd not have anywhere… Read more
near the power of a corded grinder, so was pleasantly surprised at it's ability to cut almost anything that I used it on. Naturally, roofing iron was a breeze, a knife through butter couldn't have done a better job, and the ease with which it did it brought a smile. Half inch steel rod wasn't a problem as long as it didn't pressure the cutting disc, actually as little pressure as possible is the way to use it. The two batteries are perfect, one on charge, one on the job. At a little over $50 I consider it money very well spent. Thanks Ozito, you've done it again
Ozito Power X - Disappointing – Disappointing! The grinder constantly shuts off when put under low load conditions. For example cutting through 1/2” round steel, the grinder will stall after getting only 2mm through with low cutting pressure. Brand new with fully charged 4ah battery. I called Ozito and attempted to discuss the issue but the call centre person seemed to have no… Read more
interest in the actual issue and suggested that I return the unit to Bunnings for a swap over. This kind of customer service is great but I expect some interest in the actual fault before brushing me off for a swap over. I swapped the unit over and the new unit is no different. Annoying.
Turns off every 8.5 seconds and low battery life – This grinder has been very disappointing - from day 1 it has turned off roughly every 8.5-15 seconds during use and requires charging for an hour to get 15 minutes of this stop-start use on the largest battery in the shop (4.0) Definitely do not recommend, will be returning it tomorrow. Really great unit – Have used and abused this unit for about a year. Have cut and ground metals, vinyl flooring, tiles and used a flappy disc to shape and sand timbers and sharpen mower blades. By far this I'm my most used and abused ozito x change item. The soft start is great, the unit feels great in the hand and it is adequate as long as you allow the tool to… Read more
to the work and not force it. Battery fade sucks with the exchange range, but anyone worth their pay check should be able to get great results with this little beauty.
Ozito Power Xchange cordless PXAGS-500 – Uses same batteries as the blower drill and whipper sniper I have . The assembly instructions are not clear with no diagrams of how the blade and washers are fitted correctly. This is risky and not good for such a dangerous tool. There are copious safety directions and warnings but I found better advice from Youtube. The Ozito Youtube site… Read more
didn't advise about a safety shield.
The box did not include a cutter, which I bought it for. Most people would want a small cutter..
