Went above and beyond to resolve a painful issue arising from Rezum treatment. Dr Manny Saluja is an outstanding doctor and a very nice fellow. The entire practice staff do their utmost to ensure a high standard of patient care. Their nurse Sam is outstanding as is their scheduling whizz Beth. Would give them six stars if i could.

I am a 50-year-old patient who was diagnosed with papillary renal cell carcinoma, discovered accidentally during a scan for an unrelated condition. From my first consultation, Dr. Manny Saluja from Perth Urologty Clinic reassured me that my condition was treatable and that my prognosis was very good. He scheduled my robot-assisted partial… Read more

nephrectomy within a few months, which was performed in the state-of-the-art operating theatre at St. John of God Subiaco Hospital. The entire experience, from surgery to recovery, was excellent. The hospital operates like a well-oiled mechanism, with every protocol strictly adhered to, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The surgery itself was executed with exceptional skill, and this was confirmed by follow-up CT scans and the histology report. I fully recovered within four weeks and have been informed that the chances of tumor recurrence are extremely low.

I am deeply grateful to Dr. Saluja for his professionalism, reassurance, and outstanding care throughout this journey.

One good, 2 very bad – Have had multiple dealings with Kidney Stones etc Dr Thavaseelan is awesome, knowledgeable and fixed the c#ck up by the unempathetic Dr Hamid who seemed to take some sick sort of pleasure in the level of pain I had post op. Almost sadistic. Later follow up with Dr Picardo after a lengthy wait, was a waste of time. Barely looked at the issue,… Read more

Successful bladder cancer treatment – I have always been treated in a caring and professional manner by the various members of this group practice. My diagnosis with two concurrent forms of aggressive bladder cancer was a worry, but after several relatively uninvasive treatments over the past seven months I am now in remission. I would strongly recommend Perth Urology after my experience with them.

I am convinveced I never had Prostate cancer – I was never convinced that I had prostate cancer and this has changed my life enormously, as with most surgeons all they want to do is cut you so they make money, this was never properley and fees were never mentioned and I was left with an $8000 bill although having private health insurance '

Dr Trenton Barrett – I was referred to Trenton Barrett by my amazing gynaecologist after developing a vesicovaginal fistula post abdominal hysterectomy. He said he was referring me to the best urologist and he was spot on. My first consultation with Trent and I left feeling reassured and confident that I couldn't be in better hands. explaining things and extremely patient when I was stressed. Followed up regularly even though he has an extremely busy schedule and many patients to tend to. Way above and beyond what most doctors would do considering his position. Joni, the nurse, was unbelievably supportive and I couldn't have asked for a better team including the staff and my anaesthetist, Vicki. The procedure was a huge success and I would highly recommend Perth Urology Clinic especially Dr Trenton Barrett :)

Totally Professional – My original appointment was with Dr. Shane LaBianca at PUC Wexford. The explanation of the prostate problem was well understood by myself and my wife. I had the MRI and biopsy and discussed the results with Dr Matt Brown. He suggested that a PET scan would pinpoint any further problems that may be present. were discussed by the PUC team and I was then put under the care of Dr. Andrew Tan at Hollywood Medical Centre. Dr. Tan discussed the results and suggested that the prostate removal was the best option. The procedure occurred on the 12th April 2019 by Robotic Surgery and to date I am 90% recovered and regained bladder control. I cannot find enough words to praise the professional and dedicated service offered by the PUC team at Wexford and Hollywood Medical Centres. The pre op and post op support has been greatly appreciated. My heartfelt gratitude to Drs. LaBianca, Tan and Brown. You are a professional team and proud to have been a patient at PUC.

Dr Trenton Barrett – Thank you Dr Barrett for your courtesy, thoughtfulness and skill (as well as a most impressive CV). I would certainly suggest to any woman who needed a urologist she should seek your help.

Rude and unhelpful - – I found [name removed] to be very rude and unhelpful. Basically said he had no idea what the issue was, leaned back in his chair, shrugged his and said its not really my problem better to find someone else and go back to your GP. Condescending and no empathy. Body language suggested he didn't care about my issue at all. Was not thorough at all either. Look elsewhere.

Above and beyond service – I've been taking my grandfather to Perth Urology Clinic since it opened. Thavaseelan, the practise nurse and the rest of the team have always shown the upmost care and concern, and take the time and effort to communicate with my grandfather and myself, making sure that we fully understand the problem and treatment (if needed). I'd like to offer my sincere thanks to Dr Thavaseelan and his colleagues and would absolutely recommend their services.

Triple check your quote - deceptive administration staff – My husband underwent surgery through the Perth Urology Clinic. The surgery itself was a success, however the grief we endured due to the administration staff providing us with false information was horrendous. Prior to the surgery, I confirmed with the clinic that they would invoice our health insurer through Gap Cover. I documented this on the… Read more

quote which we then sent back to the clinic. After the surgery, we were charged an extra $430 on top of what we should have been. I spend hours going between the clinic and our health insurer to determine what happened, and received different responses every time I spoke to the clinic. Eventually, I was told by one staff member at the clinic that she recalled speaking to me before the surgery, and had advised they didn't do GapCover. I insisted I also remembered the conversation, and my recollection was the opposite, and that I had documented it on our signed quote. I pointed out if there had been an issue it should have been addressed at the time, prior to the surgery, as otherwise, we had gone into the surgery with false information about the cost. I'd strongly suggest you triple check anything they say, and document everything.

Extremely professional and fantastic to deal with – I've suffered from kidney stones for a number of years and have been unfortunate enough to be hospitalised on every occasion a stone has decided to move. Since that initial… Read more

meeting and after a number of consultations and successful procedures I couldn't speak more highly of the service that Doctor Brown has provided me. He has always displayed a high degree of professionalism, compassion and understating of my situation and I find he always goes that one step further to ensure my ongoing health and well being.

Interestingly enough I had a very recent kidney stone attack and Doctor Brown wasn't available. A major issue for me was that I was flying to Europe in the near future so the time frame to address my issue was very limited. Upon contacting the Perth Urology Clinic Doctor Trenton Barrett (A work colleague of Browns) was good enough to see me at the last minute. Similar to Doctor Brown, Doctor Barrett went above and beyond to get me into a position to travel safely, from organising CT scans to procedure times (if required) fortunately, I was able to pass the stone and a procedure wasn't required and the all clear was given to go and enjoy my holiday.

After dealing with both doctors from the same clinic I would have no hesitation in highly recommending their services.

Never been so relieved !!! – I visited the emergency department of St John of God Murdoch hospital on Sunday afternoon 9th July at around 3.00pm on the advice of Dr Trenton Barrett of Perth Urology Clinic, who had briefed the ED to expect me. I would like to give my sincere thanks to the wonderful urology team who attended to me for their swift assessment and treatment, special thanks to to Dr Trenton Barrett and his associates for their fabulous care and attention in preventing what could have been a very serious situation.

highly successful medical procedure – I recently experienced the failure of an artificial urinary sphincter (AMS 800) which had been surgically implanted in 2001 in the Public health system here in Perth. This failed device was the fourth unit that l have had surgically implanted in my 34 years in a wheelchair. I suffer from a spinal injury which occurred from a aviation accident… Read more

(1982) when l was twenty six years old. I have a medical classification of T12/L1 paraplegia. This silicone pressure device (AMS 800) has given me a quality of life through urinary continence and the social confidence & freedom, that is hard to quantify in words. My current device (5th) was surgically implanted by Perth Urology Clinic's urological surgeon Dr T Barrett. Pre-surgery advice from this doctor and clinic staff was accurate and guiding. This surgical procedure held some potential high risks, not only my age but also the complexities of replacing a foreign device in a part of my body that has had four previous devices implanted there, so previous internal adhesions and scarring, damaged tissue and the surgical difficulty of removal of the old one and the replacement positioning for the three arms of this artificial sphincter device. The pre-surgery advice from this doctor was extremely valuable to the positive outcome that has been my experience with this implant. Thorough and comprehensive planned pre-surgical urological examinations took place. Communication from the doctor and his team pre and post surgery was informative and inclusive. Many of these surgeons also work in the public medical system, as in my case this procedure was conducted at the Fiona Stanley hospital under the public health umbrella. With confidence l recommend this urological surgeon and his team for their professionalism and the quality of care l received prior, during and after my operation.

Performed an unnecessary surgery on me – They conducted surgery on me that was mostly redundant. My kidney stone had broken down and passed but that wasn't discovered until going all the way in with a surgical examination. Perth Urology Clinic chose to work off of data that was 15 days old and perform a cystoscopy/ureteroscopy instead of getting a new X-ray on the table, scan (I've not… Read more

had many in my life, not gonna be paranoid over radiation) or renal ultrasound, which would have shown the stone had passed. Time, money, and energy was wasted + I was given 12-24 hours of pointless pain when urinating due to the invasive op. It could have been avoided with fresher data or a more consistent path of communication with me throughout the whole thing.

For a private clinic they operate in a manner that is not satisfactory at all. The urologist handling my case for 4 weeks transitioned me onto an operation list with someone entirely new who I met for the first time in theatre and who did pretty much zero consult (despite 15 days having gone by since a chat with his colleague). The communication lost in this transition is where a big problem lies in their practice. I have now sourced a urologist who is fantastic up at Hollywood private in Nedlands. It's been horrible, but I'm pushing the reset button and finally learning more about uric acid issues. [name removed] at Hollywood spent over one hour with me debriefing what I'd been through and properly sharing expertise. Perth urology clinic gave me two meetings that were 5-10 minutes each (at the same cost as [name removed]). I've been absolutely taken aback at the difference in how the new urologist [name removed] assesses data (thoroughly, carefully, cautiously) and what I'd been through with Perth urology clinic.

Overall, their clinic lacks integrity, initiative, foresight and mostly communication skills. Their aim was to do a bare minimum job and robotically bill healthcare. My sincere advice is to shop around if you have any inkling that someone at Perth Urology Clinic in Murdoch or one of there other locations is lacking in attention to detail with your condition. Do not give away your trust too easily when you actually don't have to.
