Unfortunately on the first use of my bark collar, upon removing the charger from the USB Port, part of the cable got stuck in the port and the cable broke away on trying to remove it. Very flimsy design. Show details

Very effective at stopping my neighbours yappy dog – I got the Outdoor Bark Control to try and prevent my neighbour’s dachshund from nuisance barking. It was relentless barking all day while I was trying to work from home and my neighbour refused to do anything about it. I placed it on my back fence and it worked straight away! Installed it at Xmas and no yapping since! Show details ·  1

Get a refund – I have had one for a week. No improvement at all. If anything, I’d say my dogs are probably a bit more agitated than usual. Taking it back for refund.

Great but: – *** UPDATED 1 month later to add and change rating** This stopped working on the problem dog over the back fence within 3ish weeks. His owner also got one in their yard and put one around his neck and he still barks for 6 hrs every single day. It does however work for my 2 dogs to the point that loud noises have now trained my mini schnauzer to… Read more

expect the noise and she's actually traumatized by it. She's now fearful of thunder (something we took great time and effort to desensitize her too and she has NEVER ever been fearful of before) and any other loud noise like a car going past, she comes running to us with moon eyes and claws her way up our front demanding to be held and comforted. This product is great for few and far between uses but make sure the neighbours don't have one pointed at your house either if it's not needed for your dogs. I think i'm going to have to speak to mine because its not working on their dog and is harming ours. Overall i wouldn't recommend this product anymore unless you're into torturing your dog..

We bought ours for not only our dogs but the neighbours dogs too. We are only 1 week into the usage but so far so good. This was our last resort for ours and our neighbours dogs. We've tried: positive training, distractions, replacement behaviours and physical punishment as well as locking the dogs in another room. They still bark and are still hyper-vigilant when my husband isn't home. The silky literally barks at a leaf blowing down the road! The neighbours dogs we've tried feeding to distract them, yelling at them and were about to call the council as their owners know they bark and just don't care.

It's been outside for 1 week now and it worked on our 2 dogs (mini schnauzer and silky terrier) within 1 bark each!

The staffy and ridgeback over the back fence of ours took about 2 days to work. (They'd been allowed to bark for 6 hrs straight every day for 5+ years though.)

The positives:

It WORKS! and it works FAST!

It shuts up EVERY dog within a radius of several houses!

Its not overly expensive. We got ours at a local pet cafe shop and it was 30$ cheaper than anywhere online

Its small enough to be inconspicuous when pointing it at your neighbours dogs.

The Negatives:

- It works TOO WELL! It goes off at cars accelerating (turbo diesels mostly but trucks will also set it off) so much so that our dogs were afraid to go out the back yard at all because it was always going off. If you get a lot of road noise this isn't the device for you.

- Its not overly suitable for indoor use because of this reason- its too sensitive even on the lowest setting and in another room. Ours goes off at cars going past, kibbles hitting the steel bowl in the auto feeder (thus making the dog afraid to eat!) and when we clap and play with the dogs inside. Our mini schnauzer takes off and hides shivering in fear in her bed and takes a LOT of encouragement to come out of her bed after it's gone off.

In the end I've had to turn ours off now and we have to physically go out the back yard at 5am when the neighbours dogs start barking to turn it on and shut them up. Then go back out when we wake up and turning it off again. It's a hassle but its better than torturing our 2 little dogs with it going off at every environmental sound. And it's worth it to stop other people's dogs keeping us awake all day and all night. I just wish there was a way to make it more able to differentiate a bark to a car.

- Another negative is that there is no rechargeable batteries in 9volt (that we've fonud) so if you want or need to use this all the time it's going to be expensive. Thankfully, once the dog learns to shut up and not bark, you should only really need it occasionally as reinforcement. We will only be using ours when we go out. (So, literally once a fortnight)

- Not sure if its just the end of their breeding cycle or not, but since we've had it in our back yard the local finches who were nesting in our tree have gone. THey may come back once its time to breed again, as they have done for yrs now, or they'll be gone forever because of the noise... It doesn't work on crows, kurrawongs or apostle birds tho LOL.

Overall i'll give it some more time but at the moment, i can't recommend it enough to those with stubborn barkers.
