auto. Post 2019 they are a traditional auto box and very nice to drive.
Tips: Don't forget your timing belt.
Cons: (none are major but worth noting, and this is ALL of them)
Bad vison out the rear due to barn doors, no taillift option. First gear be should abit shorter. Engine is very quiet but road noise can be loud, sound proofing and quality tyres would help (the case for most commercial vans) Traction up very steep inclines from a stop position is sometime sketchy if you are a fully loaded van. Probably the case for most commercial vans as they are nearly all FWD these days(cost to manufacture). Good tyres are a must for this reason. Doesn't like weight, but adding airbags to the rear (approx $800 fix) fixed it up straight away on my van. Standards springs should definitely be heavier then what they give you off the showroom floor for a commercial vehicle as the manufacture should assume they are getting loaded up. However if you leave your van empty or have very light load, this would suit you perfectly.
Tips to commercial van maker: FWD is fine, but give us LSD gearbox options please.
poor parts supply and shoddy service in the worshop – Our LWB van (2009) had an engine fire late 2013( 130,000kms) The injector exploded. . To fix it a special tool has to be borrowed from Peugot and they will only lend it to their dealer. A reliable mechanic I know was refused. There are only a limited number of tools and one could not be obtained for a few weeks. There was also only one injector… Read more
valve availablein Australia, as I was proactively contemplating replacing the 4 until I was told it would take 5 weeks to get the other 3 from France at $500ea. Fortunately we did not need the van over the holidays as despite promises, It took 3 weeks more than the quoted time (2 working weeks and Then I had to physically visit the workshop repeatedly despite being promised that my telephone calls would be returned. "Sorry we are short staffed" was the response when I actually had to threaten to yell out in their showroom one morning. If I was not saisfied. In fact I did have to do that eventually. On driving the van on its return, fuel started shooting everywhere after an hour, onto the road and inside the engine compartment. I called the RACV who found that the replaced injector fuel supply had not been tightened. ( They offered to do it on the spot, but I refused) I insisted that it be towed back to the Peugot Bayside service centre in Glenhuntly. The RACV said it could have caught fire again. I therefore wanted the service department to check any other work. On calling the manager after it was dropped off, he said all the injectors had to be replaced and then I told him that the RACV said it was merely a matter of tightening the supply tube on their repair. He said.. Sorry I will have that checked....guess what !! The RACV was correct. I received the Van back a few days later and was told that they had checked for leaks... I would have thought that that was matter of course and should have been done initially. The day I returned my Van, the service manager was having a whinge as his brand new supplied Peugot vehicle had broken down whilst on the way to work !! I have a Renaut Master van and it has done 400,000Kms !! no problems. Peugot told me that they wouldnt guarantee my Van which I purchased brand new , would see 200,000kms !!!. All of its use has been done on long trips. It was once in an accident and then it took months to get a bumper panel and other parts from France. They said " not many of these are around" The Peugot web site assures that spare parts are in ample supply in Australia. This has not been my experience. Peugot also has a question section on their web site regarding problems. I filled it out and never got a response despite getting a submission notification by email.
Love my Peugeot great versatile van – I chose this van as I am a florist and also I show dogs, which makes it handy for both of these, But I do wish that in Australia the rear seat option was available, as sometimes I need to cart the grandkids around Show details
Great small van option – I chose this van as I wanted to carry my tools and equip around securely and have the drive and feel of a car. My previous vehicle was a Hilux dual cab which was great but I had the rear seat area filled with tools and equipment and it became impractical. Stuck a van rack system in and tradesman roof rack and now have heaps of space. drives… Read more
