Sound quality bad, loudness poor – Buttons are hard to use. The volume is low. There is a LOT of static and system noise. Steer clear The headphone jack is labelled Line Out which implies it needs to be amplified but when you do that it also amplifies the static and the static and system noise. I was hoping you could turn the volume way down and amplify a low signal. You can't
Poor quality CD player – I purchased this so I can listen to my large CD collection, while moving around. I have a high quality pair of Audio Technica headphones. The manager of the JB HiFi store offered to price match from $99 to $74.50 so that was initially good. But the volume is so low and not loud enough - even at FULL volume. There’s no FF OR rewind option. It needs batteries … duh…. I was hoping it would have a USB charge option. But no. Also the battery compartment is located under the lid, which only comes up a little bit, so it’s difficult to insert the AA batteries. The control indicators are in black, the same colour as the body so they are hard to see. The tiny screen is a simple non backlit affair which is very awkward to read and see. I returned it to the store promptly. Please don’t bother to buy this.
Purchased in for $74.50.
Works good, Sound level poor – Purchased several months ago to listen to old reproduced radio serials produced in MP3 formats only, extremely bad design as battery compartment is located inside opening lid under CD (when in place) and is very awkward to open without long fingernails which means the cd must be removed every time batteries are changed as they only last 5-6 hours total, sound level is also extremely poor even with the bass booster on as cannot hear clearly when outside in wind or traffic using supplied headphones as I had to purchase a headphone amplifier to increase the sound level, very easy to operate controls on edge of player but the LCD screen is extremely small and forget about reading battery levels and repeat on screen without using a magnifying glass, long finger nails also needed to remove cd from machine, wish I had read other reviews before I purchased it but not because of the price but the inconvenience it caused me as I only paid $70.00 for it, however, using a headphone amplifier it works well with one other EXTREMELY ANNOYING exception, it has no fast forward or rewind using MP3 so if you miss any portion of your cd or want to repeat any part, you MUST RESTART THE WHOLE TRACK FROM THE BEGIINING every time, you cannot advance or rewind at anytime which can be very annoying, excellent sound, just no volume, I do not recommend as I will be replacing with a different machine as it can be frustrating to use at times mostly due to the sound levels.
