Polar H10

The app is crap – Seems well made and works ok when you set it up. But the app is utter garbage. I don't want a fitness blog, daily diary, fitness tracker, or any other nonsense add ons. I just want something I turn on, exercise in and then can see the results. Too much to ask. Polar, please a lite app with all the unnecessary junk removed to make this device more usable. Would be Great IF the Polar had some Quality Control – I have now had 3 Polar H10 heart rate bands (one as a warranty replacement). None have lasted very well. It is very disappointing, but in all cases the bluetooth has failed. The support is very poor, having been asked to repeat information multiple times to get a decent response. The actual monitor was stored when not used in a ziplock bag with… Read more
a desiccator bag. The device was in a protected box as well so it wasn't subject to impacts. When it did work it was great; however, there were many times it simply refused to connect. I followed all the the Polar support suggestions. Sadly, I'll use any other brand and gone for another brand of smartwatch and HRM.
H10 Dud – I did my research and decided on Polar H10. It worked great for about 4 mths with regular riding about 200km a week but then started this "not connecting problem" with no heart rate on App. Went through all the Polar recommendations with resets, new battery. No go. In the interim, I had unfortunately bought one for my partner and it now has the… Read more
same problem??? Have tried resetting, phone shut down, different phone, new battery, deleting and uploading Polar App etc and it is just not reliable. If you have to go through a full reset regularly with hit and miss for it to work, it's just not worth the money. Seems a common problem with this unit when you go online and see all the reviews.
Can be frustrating – Long term review So my initial review was very positive. Since then, I’ve had issues with this device. The app could be to blame, but really they are one and the same thing when it comes to this product. I had multiple events where he device refuses to connect to the phone via Bluetooth. I have experienced multiple problems where the GPS fails,… Read more
so I don’t know how far I have run. Sometimes, despite wearing the device as instructed, mid-run, the the heart rate monitor fails and goes to naught - making the BPM inaccurate. I have to remove the battery - I’ve found leaving it in drains it dramatically more than removing it. The device should be rechargeable. The special button cells are hard to find. Very much now a love/ hate relationship. I use my apple watch as a backup now because I can’t rely on the Polar to do it’s job
Short term review I have had the H10 for over 2 months now and run over 110km with it and it’s a great product. I love that there is no charging and you don’t even have to take your phone to pair with the Polar app or anything - you can run and it will upload / sync all the data next time you are near your phone. It’s set and forget and I really appreciate that.
The app is pretty good too - I like that tracks GPS and (if you have your phone with you) it will read pace and distance back you which is very helpful for progress.
Strongly recommended.
An unfortunate waste of $129 – I did my research on buying a heartrate monitor and I thought the Polar H10 was as good as it gets. Bought from the Polar.com website, which cost a premium vs other retailers, but thought that if I needed a hand setting it up, it would be better buying from the manufacturer. Unfortunately I was wrong on both accounts. The device took nearly… Read more
an hour to connect to the Polar Beat app - when it finally happened I rejoiced, but even after that, it won't show a heartrate.
I called Polar, went on hold for a while, then left a message first thing in the morning. By lunch, no reply, so tried again, now their phone didn't ring at all, so I emailed them and got an automated response. Called again towards end of day to go on hold again then leave another message.
In summary, the device doesn't work and the support from Polar has been non-existent. How now can I get my $129 back when you can't get in touch with them.
An unfortunate waste of $129. Would have been better spending the money on flowers for my wife!
