Horrible – Bought a Pryon pc from Harvey Norman. The first month of using it was fine but then constantly blue screened. After calling customer support, they told me to reinstall windows. it worked again for a while until the same happened again. after an uncountable amount of times reinstalling windows or resetting the computer I had it repaired by Pryon and got it back nearly 2 months later just for it to do the same crap. DO NOT BUY
The whole range of Pryon is crap – Bought Pryon computer on flexirent...worst decision ever made...first computer within three days power pack blew up...second computer graphics card stopped working, then started making weird noises because the fluid won't fee through properly and so had to have computer to tilt back to get the liquid to feed through (before you say it was because… Read more
there was not enough fluid, the reservoir tank was full and couldn't get anymore liquid in there even if we tried to) and then today when trying to fill the tank it completely snapped as we were doing it up...so over this computer and want our money back so we can go and buy a better more reliable machine. These are just slapped together with no thought for longevity or quality for the price we paid for it. Avoid pryon like the plague they are!!!!
Constantly freezing – Hi everyone, I have had the same issue with a Pryon computer - I don't use it for gaming, but it freezes randomly - my model is the GFX 4521. After two repairs (and internal replacement) they sent me a new unit, which does the same thing. I have figured out what it is - something to do with sound devices plugged in - it works perfectly fine… Read more
without any audio devices plugged in. Am now in the process of submitting another complaint.
Thanks

Pryon computer – I purchased a Pryon computer from Harvey Norman approx. 2 years ago. Unfortunately the salesman at Harvey Norman must have seen me coming because he sold me what he said was a top of the range Pryon computer. This thing has never worked properly, cannot upgrade to windows 10, freezes, blue screens, black screens, etc. etc. Rubbish. Harvey… Read more
Norman tried to change this computer for a less spec unit or upsell me again to another computer when I explained the issues with this one and were not interested in even sending my computer off for repair.
After spending around $4k including a new screen, etc. for something that is completely useless, I am feeling a bit ripped off.
Not fit for purpose, avoid Harvey Norman & Pryon computers.
Would Be A Great Computer If It Would Continue Longer Than 5 Minutes Without Totally Freezing – I purchased on recommendation from a Harvey Norman employee also. Said he had the perfect computer for my application out the back. I now wonder if he sold me his own piece of rubbish after these issues. Computer freezes regularly and can't play music or video without it freezing about 2 minutes in. I feel scammed.
Pryon total junk, failed in the first 2 days heading back to harvey norman again for further problem – I will start by saying I feel totally ripped off. Had an old Dell which started giving issues. So I up graded to this pryon as Harvey Norman staff recommended it. I am now using my old dell again which is more reliable. I have lost $1,000's on my work and delayed family issues by six months I need to resolve, THE ONLY reason I upgraded!! it just… Read more
keeps shutting down, stalling, jamming. I could go on and on. I have wasted enough time with this terrible thing. I am going out to buy a new computer, again for the second time in under 6 months, but never anything with the pryon brand name on it.
Broke once, shame on you, broke Twice shame on me – I also bought on rent to buy plan with warranty a Pryon computer from Harvey Norman, first computer was great for about 9 months then started shutting down 20-30 mins into playing high graphics games, reduced resolution while laying game which did not help, over the next 3 weeks game shutting down sooner and sooner into game play until computer… Read more
randomly shutting down during running of basic programs ie. word. Took back to store and dropped off at tech support, they sent me a replacement lap top with completely sub par capabilities and definitely could barely cope with running basic programs. I didn't even bother loading games to it. 8 weeks later and a whole lot of phones calls and hassles with Harvey Norman I demanded an update in which someone (transferred to approx. person number 10 on one 1hour phone call at my cost on my mobile) from tech support told me to come in and pick up a new one as the other one was not able to be fixed.
Got new one and have had for 8 months and now have bought it as the rent to own contract expired... and guess what 2 weeks after making final payment.... the machine is shutting down 30 mins into game play again.... Broke once, shame on you Pryon, broke twice shame on me for buying this piece of terrible computing machinery! Overpriced, completely fails to do what I ask of it, unreliable and definitely a lesson learnt...
FX8A feedback – Good PC. Very happy with it. Big HDD, lots of memory. Use it as our main home pc and stores all photos, videos, and music. Couldn't be happier and have not seen similar specs from others. Looks good. Had a technical issue, called the tech support and had immediate resolution. huge specs they didn't have it in white only black. Other models were white
Stay away at all costs!!! – I agree with toffee-tama, at first look this seems like a pretty good gaming pc, but as soon as I bought one the problems just started rolling in, first the thing wouldn't even turn on so I took it back and the power supply wasn't even attached to the pc, they then informed me that the fans weren't connected either!!! After all that was fixed I… Read more
brought it back home set everything up and installed some games and began to play a bit, at first everything was going alright, it wasn't running as we'll as it should have been but I didn't worry about it at first, then about a week later the thing started turning off after about 20 mins of gameplay, I took it back and they revealed that even after telling me the fans were not plugged in and that they had fixed it the fans weren't plugged in still (and the reason I didn't check myself was that if I opened the thing the warranty would be void)
So they finally connected the fans and now the computer is as loud as a jet engine, even when just browsing the net and its even louder when playing non demanding games such as minecraft, awesomenauts etc... And the game barely runs any high end games either.
In conclusion the fact that this is labelled a gaming pc is laughable, and the price tag is almost insulting, and I recommend that you stay away from it like its a disease.
P.S Harvey Norman weren helpful either as they blanantly misled about its capabilities and I'm now $2300 poorer because of it
Terrible quality, very expensive
Do not buy – Initially, the Pryon FX8A may look and sound like a great computer. I have had two and both have had something wrong with them. The first was sold to me with a faulty hard drive and had to be returned the day after I brought it. The second seemed to work fine at first, but after a couple of weeks I began to notice that it was getting slower and… Read more
glitchy to the point where it will keep freezing every hour or more.
The fact that it is promoted as a 'gaming computer' is an absolute lie. The Pryon FX8A cannot handle gaming. Games like Sims3 for example will often lead to the computer overheating and shutting down 30 minutes into game play when set on high performance.
When set on low performance it may last a bit longer, but it still gets extremely hot and the game will continually freeze every 5 minutes - which is bad if you were playing online. The Pryon FX8A also seems to have a weird temperament with Wacom/Bamboo tablets. Initially my tablet worked fine, however, it has gotten to the point where it will no longer work at all with the FX8A - however the tablet still works fine with my acer laptop.
I'm sure there are many more reasons why not to buy this product, but I would rather not find them. So if you are looking for a reliable computer, Pryon is not that computer.
Expensive, constantly malfunctioning, parts are easily broken from doing nothing, bad warranty service, can't play games at all, can't use Wacom/Bamboo Tablets
I agree with some of the comments. Until recently, the Pryon was able to read all discs...now… Read more
