Not for my dog who loves chewing – Recently, we have a new addition to the family, a small poodle mix from a dog rescue, who is almost one year old. the strap and almost chewed through it. Therefore, we kept him on a collar.
Again, for his comfort, we wanted to get a thicker, more comfortable collar and found this product. However, as soon as we removed it from the packaging, we noticed the design is almost like a normal belt where the end sticks out without any keeper to keep it in place. This I imagine will immediately become a toy for my dog trying to bite at it. I have too much imagination. I hope my dog won't be able to pull on it and end up choking himself. So this design is unsuitable for my dog and that is the only reason I am giving it an OK rating. If your dog doesn't bite, this might be an excellent collar.
For us, this is a real shame because it does look comfortable because of the soft neoprene layer, and appears to be well made and sturdy (although I wonder how long the neoprene would last). It comes with metal buckles, and is reflective. We ended up exchanging to the Purina Total Care Everyday Dog Collar instead for only $2 less.
